I was told my car's rear rotors needed to be changed at the dealer but was quoted what I felt was a ridiculous amount of money to fix. I decided to shop around for options. I started at Ray & Dana's Inman Auto Care. He offered a free estimate. He sent a very comprehensive list of things that needed to be done on my car. I was very impressed with the meticulous detail and the photographs to show why I they were suggesting the fix. This report made me feel that this was an honest shop. And made me feel confortable enough to trust. It turned out that all rotors needed to be changed. I paid a bit more than what the dealer quoted but got both front and rear brakes overhauled and new brake fluids and wheels rotated and balanced. But most of all I got a clear understanding of why it had to be done and the feeling that they were trustworthy. Their customer service was excellent! I live a mile away and needed to be home for telework so he had someone drive me home and then pick me up to get the car. That was awesome and I really appreciated it. Also I called several times with questions and concerns. They politely answered all my questions. I asked them to align the wheels. They checked the alignment and told me it was not necessary. I take my husband my daughter and my car there for service and they do a thorough investigation and they call you with the work that needs to be done and they stick to the payments as planned. although no one is perfect their diagnostics are correct and they keep going until the job is done! Ray, Dana and their crew at Inman are second to none. They are all professional, courteous and take the time to explain in layman's terms what the issue is, if it needs to be fixed or can wait. I so impressed not only about their detailed diagnostic process, but how they share that with their customer was truly remarkable. The Inman crew will take photos and share what they see in said photos, via text or email. TOTAL RIPOFF !!! Came in for a timing belt and water pump quote on a Acura. Guy says $550 for the parts as a kit. I called Acura Dealer and they said the whole OEM ORIGINAL KIT is only $250!!! Then he says he has to fill up with coolant which is $39 a bottle. The same bottle Acura sells for $22 !!! Dana quoted $1450 for the whole job parts and labor !!! I went straight to Acura dealership and paid $1025 and got the work done with a 3 year warranty!!! This place is a RIPOFF and they UPSELL you on parts to STEAL more money out of your wallet!!! Had odb emissions failure at DMV, and it took to their shop for a diagnostic test, instead of diagnosing the problem to pass emissions, they diagnosed other issues, and they then super overcharged me $536.00 dollars just for their diagnosis. read more

At the recommendation of my neighbor we brought our daughters car here for service and they were informative, honest about the issues and then fixed it right. Everyone says these guys are honest and do great work. Now I know this is true. I knew then that we would be back. Yesterday I brought my car in for breaks and my daughters car in for a look because another shop said it needed something but we weren't sure what we were being told and wanted Ray and Dana's to take a look. We had made appointments for both vehicles and we were taken right on time. Everyone in this shop is so nice and respectful. Even offered us snacks and coffee multiple times. You get patient explanations of the issues and even pictures so you can see what they are telling you is true. The break job for my car was more then what another chain shop wanted for the job. But here I got the original manufacturer parts not generic or after market. And I know the job is being done right and they will stand by the work. This shop is not the cheapest. But if you want a reputable shop that is honest, does quality work and stands by that work this is the place to come. You can't put a price on peace of mind and knowing that the car is fixed right. They even signed me up for a free loyalty program (I asked about it they didn't try and sell me) they have where all the family cars can be linked to the account and be eligible for coupons and other point based awards. It;s been a long time since I've felt good about a repair shop that I could trust. We will definitely be back. Give them a look. You will be glad you did. read more

I have been a loyal customer for about 10 yrs now, referred by another satisfied customer. It's a family owned business with a family run feel. They are always upfront and real with you about the work that needs to be done and will tell you if something can wait or doesn't really need to be done. They always call you before proceeding with work that wasn't previously discussed. And the best part is, if you need a lift to or from the shop they'll come pick you up so you don't have to sit around waiting for your car. The only downside is their hours. They are only open to 5pm on weekdays, which sometimes makes it difficult to get to after work and they're only open every other Saturday from 7-12pm. read more

Just when I lost faith in all humanity and honest hardworking mechanics I was recommended this place for my tires change. I needed four new tires and I could tell over the phone these people were incredible. I had to go to work so my 86 year old grandfather did me a favor and dropped off my vehicle to the shop. They didn't call him a cab, they didn't take our money and make him wait, they had an employee take time out of his busy day to drive my grandfather back home. It doesn't stop there, they PICKED HIM UP when it was done so he didn't have to take a cab there. This is the type of "buisness" mindset and hospitality that is slowly being pushed away by big money hungry corporations. I got 4 beautiful tires and a boost of faith that good people still exist. I recently took my Honda Element to Ray & Dana's for a 2nd opinion - for a repair which my local Honda dealership said would cost $6000 to fix/replace. (full exhaust system replacement)  Right from the initial appointment phone call, they were very friendly, and proved they were knowledgeable about the issues, and made me feel at ease.  When I arrived for my appointment a few days later, the woman who greeted me at the front desk (Liz) greeted me with a smile, and she was so knowledgeable, that I almost thought she was the mechanic herself.  :)  And when she called me with the diagnosis, she clearly explained my options, and discussed pros and cons of each one.  We went with a full replacement using after-market parts from a company they trusted.  And the total was only around $1700 - which is a full $4300 less than the dealership had quoted.  (!!)  After they fixed my car, the mechanic called to let me know he'd driven my car around for a while, making sure everything was OK.  I really appreciated the service I received from Ray & Dana's.  I will definitely be coming here for any future car issues.  And I've already recommended them to some friends.  thanks!! read more

Never again will I go to Dana's. I have gone there for a while without incident. This time I had 4 tires replaced and asked to have my brakes checked. Got a call about my rear brakes. The price they quoted seemed high so I said not to do them. I called dealer and the job at the dealership was less! When I picked up my car I let guy at counter know. Still, no worries. It is what it is. Dana called me when I got home and asked to see my receipts when I got the work done. Like I was lying?! Not only did he indirectly call me a liar, he said he thought I only took my car there because they are respectable and honest. Not because of money. So indirectly he now called me cheap. He didn't even get how he was insulting... Why would I pay more there when the dealer, which is usually MORE expensive, can do the job for less. Sorry. Never again Dana. Insulting. read more

Wanted to leave a review about these guys based on my first experience with them. Here's the story My car failed state inspection with two failure codes. I was looking for some reliable guy to get this fixed. I found these guys through internet and DMV site. Based on the online reviews I scheduled an appointment with them and took my car to fix the failure codes and get the state inspection clearance certificate on my wind shield. When I went there these guys told me that they would charge around $ 220 to redo the state inspection, fix all the failure codes and certify the car. Because of my busy schedule I did not have any other option and had to leave the car with them. End of first day they called me and said they fixed the two failure codes and upon further inspection they found the engine maintenance light is not coming up and they asked for an other days time to trouble shoot the issue.This engine maintenance light problem was not reported when DMV did the state inspection. End of day two they said they have to take off the instrument cluster to see why the engine maintenance light is not coming up and they asked me to bring the car on weekday the following week for the specialist to be available. When I went to pick my car they asked me to pay $ 320 for fixing two failure codes reported in state inspection. Please note they did not change any parts it was electrical problem that they fixed. Initially they said to fix all the problems with my car and certify it they would charge me around $ 220, later for just fixing the two codes without certifying and half job done they asked me to pay $ 320. I did not have any other option and had to pay $ 320 to take my car out. Please note I was trusting them till this point. On the third day I took my car to them to get the engine maintenance light problem fixed, I gave the car to them and they arranged a rental car for me to commute to my office. The deal was If I do the repair with them they would cover my rental car cost as well. My office was within 10 miles distance but still they were not ready to drop and pick me up. I was in a hurry with no time to wait I went ahead with the rental car option. End of day three I got a call from these guys saying they have to replace the instrument panel as the light got ripped off and their estimate was around $ 1000. I was not ready to spend so much and declined the repair. In the evening I paid $ 180 + $ 50 for diagnosing the problem and rental car. I was so dissatisfied on their job because on top of paying so much these guys left me in middle of no where. Few days later I took the car to another repair shop and they got this engine light issue fixed for $ 120 and finally after that I took my car to state inspection and got my car certified. These guys charge hefty and did not fix the problem completely, for state inspection failures other guys in the DMV site asked me around $ 60 where as these guys charged me around $ 320. On top of it they did not fix everything. Upon further argument they paid me back the $ 180 but not the rental car charges. It was a mere waste of my time and money dealing with these guys. I wanted to leave a review so that people like me do not go them based on the number of stars and review. I've all the proof including the receipts. If I would have gone to the repair shop to which I went lately he would have fixed everything for me in $ 200 for which these guys asked me around $ 1500.
