When I arrived (no more than 4 minutes after 9), the office door was locked, and no one was there. I double-checked the suite number, asked someone in the building if I might be in the wrong place, and still couldn't locate him. I called twice with no answer and couldn't leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. I also emailed to let him know I was on-site and trying to reach him, and I received no response. I then tried contacting him through the online tax document portal chat function (which he instructed me to use to upload my documents), and still no response. I took time off work and used PTO to make this appointment. Given that I was asked to upload sensitive personal information (driver's license, SSN, and tax documents), being completely ghosted at the last minute is unacceptable. I would not recommend a tax professional who confirms an appointment, is a no-show, and provides no communication.

I was surprised and offended by the comment. I answered, "Of course not.!" I left disappointed due to his unprofessional accusation. I actually had a legitimate error I made and simply wanted to correct it. I later emailed him informing him I have accurate valuations with my bank statement to make the correction. Two weeks passed and I didn't hear from him. I end up going to a different, super wonderful and patient tax consultant. He amended the schedule E Form for accuracy. I had to pay for the amendment but it was worth it to do the forms accurately.

If you can't trust a business for something as simple as notarizing a document, I definitely wouldn't do anything more complicated. Even if there was something wrong with the certification form, printing out another one or grabbing a preprinted copy for $15 is a total scam. Updating to 3 stars for the owner responding quickly and being available on the weekend.
