They were awesome. They took care of all of our little things that needed to be done and came back if I thought anything was wrong.

Tennats do not rent from Real Property Management Preferred. While the move in with these guys was…read moreok everything after has just been increasingly worse. First time we put in a work order using their meld system the old tennats numbers were still on the meld and began harrassing us and telling contractors no work was needed. this happened 3 more times with different work orders. I called the management company each time and spoke to some one assured that it wouldn't happen again. It was about 6 months after living here before we stopped hearing anything from the old tennats. We put in 3 different work orders to have the hot water fixed in the kiitchen becasue it was just barely coming out the faucet. The first one being right after we moved in. A plumber came out each time stated the pipes leading to this was the issue, He and I both took pictures and we were told by the management the filter just needs to be cleaned. After only being here for 7 months it had gotten to the point of no water coming out and we were still told by management to just clean the fliter even after a 3rd visit by the plumber who told us and them that wasn't the issue. I finally got some work done after climbing in the the attic finding old pipes that were replaced and taking pictures of the rust build up and sending that to managment asking "if this work was done before we moved in on one part of the house and the pipes look this bad what do the pipes look like leading to the kitchen sink, along with a link of tennat law that states hot water flowing to the kitchen is my legal right. My latest Issue with them has been fines over recieving HOA letters that were not posted to me for any previous letter. I noticed the wording in the contract is sneaky and they are just now imposing them after a year and a half. Anyone who has delt with HOA knows they will take pictures of anything and send it so the fines piliing up over recieving a letter is ridiculous and something i have never experencied with other companies. My latest later says to take care of weeds but the picute sent does not show weeds but a bush that I trimmed to give my rosemary some more space and the ROSEMARY itself, I have not gotten any clarification and just keep being told to remove weeds and charged 70 for it. I suspect after threating leagal action to get the hot water fixed they are now givving us a hard time. Tennats know your rights and do not rent with RPMP.

Our leasing experience with this management company was frustrating due to poor communication and…read morelack of follow-through. The process took about a full month. During that time we were told three separate times that the property had been cleaned and was move-in ready. Each walkthrough showed otherwise -- no professional cleaning had been completed. We later learned there had been a water leak, which may have caused delays, but this was not clearly communicated upfront. When we first viewed the home, there were spider webs throughout and both dead and live roaches present. We raised these concerns and were repeatedly assured everything would be addressed before move-in. By the final walkthrough, the condition still had not been resolved, and an additional issue had come up. During that final walkthrough (yesterday), we were told that if we did not immediately pay the deposit, the owner wanted to move on to the "next applicants," even though the property issues had not been fixed. We were also told the owner had already "bent" by approving us, so it was essentially now or never. Once we confirmed we would not move forward under those conditions, we were then offered money off and the option to inspect the property after completion. At that point, it felt less like a proactive solution and more like pressure followed by a last-minute change in approach. There were also inconsistencies during the application process. When I initially called to ask about our application status, I was told there were other applicants ahead of us and we would be processed if they fell through. After I provided the address, the associate confirmed we were actually the only applicant. That kind of misinformation made the process feel disorganized. I understand that maintenance issues can happen and that properties owned by LLCs can sometimes add extra layers to communication. However, clear, accurate updates and accountability are essential when people are planning a move on a tight timeline. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future tenants considering this property in Richmond, TX.

Every…read moretime I've spoken with him, it seems there is little understanding of the status of our maintenance requests. For example, the company has stated they have a tracking number for the part needed to repair our AC, yet no one can tell us where it is or provide a realistic timeline for when the repair will be completed. Communication has been consistently poor. Calls often go unanswered, and when someone does respond, it feels like no one has the information needed to actually help. As a tenant, it is incredibly frustrating to repeatedly explain the same issues without receiving clear answers or meaningful updates. What has been most disappointing is the lack of empathy. We have been dealing with property damage, concerns about the condition of the home, and the discomfort of living without air conditioning for an extended period. While window units were eventually provided, they have not adequately cooled the home and have instead made the rooms feel even more humid. Throughout this experience, it has felt as though collecting rent is treated as a higher priority than fulfilling the landlord's responsibility to provide a safe, habitable, and properly maintained home. This has been, without question, the worst experience I have had with a property management company or landlord.
