Fresh rose petals were everywhere creating a great ambiance. The two therapists come in and get to work. The oil they use is generous and they cover the back & front. Lastly, a 30 minute soak in the whirlpool that's cozy for 2. You also get a glass of champagne. Truly a getaway experience! Parking is free out front. The moment you walk in, you're asked to sanitize your hands and take off your shoes, making everyone's safety a priority from the get-go. You'll notice a beautiful shelf of items (like Incausa incense, locally made jewelry, ceramics, etc) and a wonderfully-clean and intimate waiting area. I was led to the adjacent room, a warmly-lit area with yummy, natural fragrances in the air. The spa table where I laid down for the application was heated and felt so therapeutic on my back (a killer bonus, honestly). Marisa was super personable and informative on the lash lift and tint process and generously offered information on other services and products. I tried to schedule a new appointment sometime later; this time, I went through an app link that was provided to me through text message. When I made it to the appointment's actual location, I waited outside of the locked office for 15 minutes again before finally giving up and heading home. During that time, I had tried contacting Orchid Wellness about my appointment, and they did not get back to me until AFTER 15 minutes past my appointment time AND after I had already contacted Groupon and complained about the unreliability of not only being able to get into contact with the organization. While I do understand having issues with flights and flooded living rooms, I do not appreciate learning that my appointment was cancelled after I had already arrived at the location and waited for over ten minutes. A courtesy call would have been nice so I didn't have to waste my day. I do not recommend scheduling an appointment with this company. Eventually, the masseuse switched out, and a male masseur took over. He was perfect--just the right amount of pressure, skilled in hitting all the pressure points. His long, deep strokes across my feet, especially around my bunion, were so soothing that I drifted off to La La Land... only to be startled awake by a loud snore. MY loud snore. Momentarily disoriented, I realized I had dozed off. I looked up and noticed the masseur, wearing a baseball cap, paused mid-massage, hands still in position. Embarrassed, I gave a light jerk of my feet, and he resumed the massage. I must've dozed off again, because once more, I snored myself awake. This time, I didn't jump--I peeked through half-closed eyelids and noticed something strange. The masseur seemed to be resting as well, head down, cap low, hands frozen in place. Another slight foot jerk prompted him to continue, and I stayed awake to watch. Sure enough, he adjusted himself and picked back up again. I can't say for certain, but it felt like he stopped massaging whenever I fell asleep. I sincerely hope that's not standard practice. If it is, customers deserve better--especially if we're paying for a full hour of service, awake or not.
