Wonderful family operated restaurant with delicious Peruvian and seafood! Calamari lightly breaded and perfectly cooked, delicious grouper, rotisserie chicken their specialty and excellent! Courteous and friendly service staff - clean and well decorated. Definitely a place to try if you're in the area.

Second time visiting Aromas. I didn't think anyone could make black beans like my mother n law and these are just as good. We ordered a whole chicken for 3 with side dishes. The plantains delish and the chicken moist, tender and full of flavor. This place rocks! Diego and the other staff are so nice. Love the comfy booths too.

So excited to have found this fabulous Peruvian restaurant! We went tonight for the first time but most certainly won't be the last. The space was very open and inviting. Loved the mix of beach decor with a splash of Peru. Also, seriously the nicest bathroom I've seen in a long time! We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken. For appetizer we had one beef empanada and one chicken empanada. Both were very good and very flavorful. We were also given 3 different types of sauces in various stages of spice. They did not skimp on the sauces and you could tell how fresh they were. We really liked the green sauce. For dinner my husband ordered The Jumping Cow aka Lomo Saltado. He really enjoyed it. I had a bite and it was excellent. For dinner I had the 1/4 white meat chicken with a side of rice and salad. The chicken was flavorful, the rice was delicious and the best part was more green sauce! We can't wait to come back and bring friends next time. Definitely a must check out!

Went here after the Planetarium show last Friday. Prompt and very attentive service from Dar Lyne. (She is an "energizer bunny" in a super efficient way) The salad was fresh and plentiful. The potato soup was good, but nothing special. The white meat chicken had a large breast and tasty skin. The 4 plantains were delicious! The dark meat dish had a very small drumstick, but the thigh meat was a good size. Dessert sounded great but we were full. Plenty of seating inside and a few outdoor tables. Friendly service and reasonable prices. We will be back!!

I was in Sunset Beach, NC last week for lunch and stopped at Aromas At The Beach for some delicious Peruvian food. I ordered tequenos (which are cheese sticks) served with guacamole and a chicken salad in avocado halves. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken salad had some wonderful spices mixed in. The service was outstanding and I enjoyed chatting with my server and Julian, the owner. I definitely plan on returning next time I am in the area.

My wife and I had a late lunch here on a Monday afternoon. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We had beef and chicken empanadas which were delicious. She had the classic ceviche and I had The Mr. Eyermann rotisserie chicken sandwich. Both had so much flavor and were simply delicious. The staff and ambiance were so nice. Diego is very personable and attentive and even gave us some geography and history of his beloved Peru. We love trying new places and Aroma's hit it out of the park! We will be back!

After a long car ride with two dogs, we were looking for a place to eat and drink. Aromas had great reviews, and we weren't disappointed! Diego was attentive and so friendly. He recommended the Fantastic Pisco Sour, a popular drink in Peru. It was spectacular. We had the house ceviche, calamari, and the jumping cow. It was all delicious! The outdoor seating was shaded and comfortable. The dogs were happy, and we were thrilled. If we were locals, this would be a regular spot to go to. Highly recommend!

I had seen a tv spot about their new offerings of dinner, I knew I had to try them. We played golf up near Calabash, we had the opportunity to stop at Toast. Their menu offered a wide variety of their creative options. I chose the Shrimp Cherie, my wife chose the Slammin Salmon which was prepared with a couple of ingredients she couldn't have. They made suggestions on how they could alter the dish to satisfy her dietary needs. We both thought our meals were over the top. The service was fantastic our server was attentive but not a pain. The owner was very friendly stopping by a couple of times. The patrons were mainly local, the owner knew them well. His warmth radiated through the restaurant as the evening went on. My only regret was it took me so long to try Toast. It may be a bit of a drive for us but it's well worth the trip, we will be back very soon.

Mr. And I both ordered the market bowl. Quinoa, sweet potatoes, avocado, tomato, and a spring mix w a fried egg on top. It was beautiful! Then we bit into it. The sweet potato was barely on the brink of being frozen. The Quinoa was also cold...not just room temperature, but ice-cold! Avocado was way too cold as well. So, you can imagine what this did to the beautifully cooked egg... yep - turned it cold in a heartbeat. Really off-putting to bit into. Mr. went back inside and asked if they had a microwave to heat it up and the 'workers' just said that was they way it was supposed to be. Mr. tossed the entire thing in the trash and simply said "well, it's disgusting". You would think there would be a simple offer to heat it up, or some kind of remedy for the situation. They didn't give a crap. I'm pretty sure they flipped us the bird on the way out. Nice.

Decided to give this place yet…read moreANOTHER try as I know their menu has grown and they have another season under their belt. Unfortunately- this visit was more disappointing than the last. When we walked in - we looked over at the bar area and a gentleman immediately told us "no one under 21 in the bar area." Not even sure he said hello first. We had our 13-year old daughter with us - and didn't even ask to sit there yet. We were then seated in the dining room and were waiting on our friends to complete our party of 7. Waitress took our drink order. My daughter asked for lemonade - they were out. She then asked for a Shirley Temple - didn't have the ingredients to make it. My husband ordered a beer and she asked for his ID. My license was in the car (I am 53), so she would not serve me. I understand them erroring on the side of caution, but it wasn't worth me walking to my car to show her my ID. My husband's beer was warm, but thankfully my water was cold. ‍ My husband ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer - but they were out of it. Waitress said, "well - it's that time of year!" Sort of funny when you're 200 yards from the ocean and are situated above a fresh seafood shop. We finally ordered the tuna appetizer while we waited for friends - it was decent, but a small portion for the price. Here was the kicker - we asked for our bill bc we decided to go across the street to Mavericks. Our tab was $29.21. We gave her $100 bill - and she returned with all cash bills. She said she rounded up our tab because "they don't give change" (as in coins). So they rounded it UP to $30 instead. Who does that? Is it even legal? We are owners on the island, and truly do support all local businesses. We LOVED House's when it was in Sea Trail. Unfortunately, we were too embarrassed to meet our friends here and opted for wings at Mavericks. ‍

As reviews go, this is gonna be a doubleheader, which is appropriate on a couple different levels…read more A.) we ate twice here this past weekend and B.) we were in town to watch 12U baseball, as played by the 12 y/o twin grandsons. So to paraphrase Ernie Banks *skypoint* Let's eat two! On Saturday the first game was at 9:00 AM followed by the 2nd game at 10:45 AM. After a sweep for the good guys we determined not eating the hotel "food" was probably the right choice but we were both famished. A cursory search showed this lovely eatery was about 15 minutes from the ball fields and we made our GPS-led way right to it. Ish. It's very small, and it's an old house with not great signage, so my dumb a** drove right past it GPS or not. Quickly correcting my directional faux pas, we found what was, in the moment, the last available parking spot and made our way to the door. The place was packed but to our good fortune a table was getting up to leave and it was quickly cleared for us. Did I mention it's a cozy spot? From memory (which, in my case is spotty at best) I'm guessing there are less than 25 seats inside, although there is also outdoor seating so maybe forget I said that. There's plenty of room. Anyway, our server, the lovely and talented Leslie came by with coffee and water (yay to both) made a couple recco's since we were first timers and was off. Not terribly long after she returned with Fried Green Tomatoes for B squared and a Rustic Chicken Bowl (the special) for me. Both meals were outstanding! The Chicken Bowl was a schmulya of sausage gravy, fried chicken strips, waffle fries, and scrambled eggs. That's not a combo I would've considered making but dammit the dish was tasty! The FGT had a balsamic drizzle, feta, strawberries, etc. and they didn't last on her plate long. Sunday's games were at 1:00 PM and 3:00PM so we decided to simplify our meal search and come back here before our afternoon of baseball. We were greeted like old friends and shown to a table. The manager apologized for the table as it was small and in a busyish spot, but we weren't bothered by either. Leslie remembered our coffee orders from the day before and delivered them promptly. Our Sunday choices were a delightful Quiche for BB and Biscuits and Gravy for myself. Both great calls, although I will say the sausage patty that came with the quiche was rather salty. Lastly, let me just say here that both BB and I have restaurant history at various points in our lives. So we get what it's like dealing with the general public, what type of personality it takes to be good at the job. I want to go on the record that, while the food was great, and the setting was charming, the thing that made our experiences at this restaurant memorable was the staff. Everyone we encountered was phenomenal. Always hustling, always pleasant, always courteous. I know, I know, nobody is that great, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. I'm not big on giving 5 stars, I think this is only my 2nd one. They earned it. Quit whining about my review, go eat here, and tell me where I was wrong. You can't do it, because TL;DR I'm right about this place and you'll love it too
