We went for lunch around 1 o'clock and Sheridan order of the blackened grouper tacos, which comes with homemade salsa and chips. The group of tacos were overwhelmed with rough, chopped purple cabbage that they had described as a Baja slaw, a big helping of avocado sauce, and then the grouper is drizzled with a remoulade sauce, which is very spicy. overall, it was hard to find the grouper taste in the taco. Will never eat here ever again. We just moved to the area and heard Sharky's was one of the oldest restaurants here so we gave it a go. 1. They have you packed in like a can of sardines. We were literally all right one top of each other and it was not enjoyable. Waitresses were constantly spilling drinks everywhere from everyone bumping into each other, it was that packed. 2. It's SO expensive. The flounder was $24 which compared to other restaurants in the area is pricey. 3. For such expensive food, you'd think it would be higher quality. Not only is it slapped in a basket, not seasoned, and overall not that good.. I was vomiting the rest of the night after eating it. The flounder made me so incredibly sick. I was throwing up the whole night. 4. We brought along my 6 month old in his carrier car seat. When we asked if they had a sling for us to set him in, they looked at us like we were stupid and like such a thing doesn't exist.. This place was gross, overpriced, and overall disappointing. It would be 0 stars before making my entire family sick the whole night, but the food poisoning afterwards was just the cherry on top for the cake. We had never eaten here before, but we will definitely go again. Once again I didn't take any pictures because we were just having too much fun. My brother said the fish was outstanding. The kids loved the chicken tenders and I loved the scallops and shrimp. The restaurant itself was super cool and interesting. We were staying nearby for the week and decided to try this place for dinner tonight. The ambiance is great with a very beachy vibe. We were quickly seated inside and our waiter, Chris, quickly came over to take our drink orders. The menu has about ten appetizers, ten handhelds, four salads and ten entrees. It is a heavy seafood menu but there are some other items as well. I had the shrimp and grits and it was a delicious dish. My dining partners had the grouper tacos, captain's platter, and piggymac. We ordered takeout to include piggy mac, chicken tenders and nachos. The piggy mac and chicken tenders were both winners but the nachos were a fail. If you want nachos do not get them to go. Chips should be packaged separately so they don't get soggy but Sharky's missed it on this one. I couldn't even eat it. They also left out a side of fruit that was ordered. Perspective of a recent transplant from Chicago: My boyfriend and I have lived in OIB since December and have had trouble finding quality, great food in the area. I'm shocked at the 3 stars for Sharky's. Great place by the ocean, amazing food and amazing service. I got the chicken tenders and ranch (yes they serve the GOOD ranch) and my boyfriend got the Captain's Seafood Platter with the fried oysters, shrimp, crispy flounder and fries. Both were amazing and our waitress was so great. What we LOVED is the fish tasted FRESH, as it should, but we've had some issues with the grocery stores and a couple other places regarding fish quality, so we were pleasantly surprised As far as ambience--very relaxed, fun vibe. Okay just to say - they were not bad and I did eat them - but they served me very expensive fake scallops. I told the waitress no offense and that I was eating them anyways so it wasn't a big deal. But I did ask the waitress to ask the kitchen what they were made out of. She returned to tell me that they were actually scallops. Breathtaking views and awesome staff. We were seated within a minute and our drinks arrived shortly after that. I highly recommend the key lime margarita (the coconut cream makes it taste like key lime pie). The wings were delicious, and so was the grouper bites as an appetizer. The Fried Flounder Basket was amazing, the service was really good, and the atmosphere was also great.

The people were friendly the service was timely and the food was fantastic. Will definitely visit again.

Sharky's is an OIB staple. Our favorite dish is the not so Cajun pasta. My only recommendation is an extra slice of that delicious garlic bread to help scoop up the sauce. We had a great time with great service and perfect views of the waterway. read more

We came in for lunch. We were pretty hungry and this restaurant was conveniently close. We decided to stop in. They weren't very busy. We were seated by a hostess. A server stopped by and took our drink orders. Everyone was friendly enough. Our drinks came out correctly as did our food orders. My food was fantastic! And the staff was really nice! But the bartender named Jay, let me share my story. My mom was about to drink her drink but then I accidentally spilt it. The guy Jay G was being very rude about it. And when I opened my utensil pack and it was plastic, why not metal? But overall it was nice. By the way , the hosts were so kind! When having lunch at Sharky's management informed a vet, after he had paid his bill, that there was a 25% discount on food only for veterans. When asked if the he would give the discount after the payment, manager not only said "no, we don't serve many veterans" How does he know how many veteran actually serves if there's no signage indicating a veteran discount?! Great outdoor terrace, but I wasn't impressed with the fish tacos, that I was expecting to be amazing since we were at the coast!

We went here for lunch Friday. I was not blown away at all. The views are superb. The service was superb. The ambiance was superb. The food for me was just mediocre but maybe I just made a poor menu selection. The rest of my group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the cajun chicken pasta and I just wasn't thrilled that it was prepared with spaghetti noodles. I guess I should have asked?? It was seasoned just perfectly but the noodles were a total let down. I did scoop up a pretty sweet t-shirt while I was there!
