Sooo...not impressed & will not be back. I was not going to say anything because I'm not from around here and I wasn't going to post a review...but it completely unnerved me when the manager "Jim" came over to hear our complaints and tried to turn my complaint back on how I ordered my chili...I ordered it with light cheese, to be specific, a pinch of cheese is how the waitress asked and I said perfect! It came out practically smothered with cheese and was soo luke warm it was only hot because of the chili spices! His comment to me..."ohhh, you're the one who ordered the chili with light cheese (like it was a crime...ok well maybe it is...but still)?? All of our food ended up being luke warm...it was highly disappointing. The crazy thing, they weren't even busy, so they can't even use that as an excuse. Came by a little later in the night, well before closing, but after dinner on a Friday night in October and I can easily say we received some of the worst service I have ever received at a bar/restaurant. We ended up bellying up to the bar, which was decently empty and staffed with 3 bartenders. We apparently sat in the section of the bartender that had personal friends at the bar as well, as she hung out at the end of the bar with the group for 10 minutes at a time...then when we would ask for another drink, we got attitude before our drink. The place looks amazing and I am sure is a great place to watch some games, unfortunately I do not think I will be back to Arooga's after the abysmal service and rude attitude received by the bar staff on my first visit. read more

Visited this place before the Bears game and it was delicious. Food came out in maybe 5 minutes. We got the boneless wings Arooga style with fries and it was perfect. The wings were nice and crispy but still had a lot of sauce on them. The fries were the perfect thickness to soak up some sauce and not get soggy. read more

ALERT! DO NOT GOT TO AROOGA'S IN HERSHEY! Here's why: My husband and I were back in the area for the holidays and had planned ahead and invited about 15 people out to watch the Skins/Eagles game Saturday night. We were to meet at Arooga's around 8. My husband called around 4 pm to see if we could make reservations, to which the girl clearly told him they do not take reservations, to call or come in around 7:30 pm to get on the waiting list. My friend and I happened to be in the area around 6:30 and went in and sat at the bar. Shannon and another friend arrived at 7 and he asked to have a group of 15 accommodated. The girl said that they did take reservations, she wasn't sure why we were told that they did not. She said there was another large group table that was just about to get their food and wasn't staying for the game. As we watched, they weren't getting their food, and by around 8 pm, we felt they probably wouldn't be done by 8:30 and that table clearly wouldn't be ready for our group. We talked to a waitress and she said she was trying to get something together, but she didn't know what she could do. They had to "clear the line at the door", by seating a streaming line of people coming in. The continued to seat people for the entire hour and a half that we waited, but still didn't seat us. Around 8:15 we asked to talk to a manager. The manager, a tall, younger fellow with dark hair, a beard and glasses (in case you come in contact with him, IF you chance going to such a horrible place), came out with an immediate attitude as if we were bothering him asking for a group of 15. He said they were doing their best, and he didn't know what else he could do for us. He also said that his hostesses obviously didn't know what they were talking about, because (story #3) they DO take reservations, but couldn't take any more large group reservations for that evening. He couldn't offer a reason for seating everyone before us, even when there were plenty of tables. The more frustrated we got, the more rude he became also. Then Shannon talked to him and explained for the second time that we didn't need a separate room, or one large group table, but maybe two tables or booths close to each other would be fine. So he asked if we wanted the two booths that Shannon had been standing at for almost an hour, and we took those. Finally! While we didn't really want to even spend a dime in this crap hole, we still had people coming, and would never have found room on a Saturday at 8:30 pm somewhere else. So we stayed. We had two waitresses, one for each table. The wives were at one, the husbands another. they had to retake our drink orders because they couldn't have two waitresses do our tables because "We didn't sit together so they couldn't split our checks." The waitress was annoyed and took that out on us too. Bottom line, this has happened before at Homecoming, any time we have a group larger than 4 people. They don't know what they are doing, they have attitudes, and it's just not worth the hassle. Please share with anyone you know, and don't give these clowns any of your money. After multiple group issues at this location, Arooga's needs to seriously consider training their staff to be more like the other locations. Their continual ineptitude and rude attitudes towards customers are Completely Unacceptable. There are many places to take groups to watch football, and this will NO LONGER be one of them. If I could give them no stars I would. My wife and I stopped in here on Super Bowl Sunday. The main reason we stopped in was because we had a gift card to use up. Unlike most of the country we don't watch the Super Bowl, and I was kind of hoping to get in and out before it started, but that didn't happen. When we got there we weren't sure which door to go in. As you enter through what looked like the correct door, we noticed a line of people at the bar, so we tried the other door, and it was a line of people trying to leave... So we went back to the first door. Once i pushed past the line at the bar we noticed the hostess station. They weren't all that busy, and we were seated fairly quickly, but that was about the only good point. We sat for sometime before the waiter finally came to our table. When he finally came, he was dressed kind of sloppy. I noticed a lot of the other waiters and waitresses were dressed like sports officials, but not ours. He took our drink order, and then we waited for our drinks, and to place our orders. While waiting I noticed that all the tvs but two in the room we were in were tuned to the Super Bowl channel, and I heard a waitress for another table tell her party that when it hit game time they would all be switched over. I know it was Super Bowl Sunday, but they could have left at least one TV on something else, since the whole place is wall to wall TVs. But once the Super Bowl started we ended up having to watch it until we left. Once the waiter came back I had a question about the steak I was thinking of ordering, and that was can I get anything other then broccoli with it. His response, "what would you want?" Well, of course since we've never eaten there before, and I couldn't find sides anywhere on the menu, I had to ask what they had... And the waiter's answer, "I really don't know what else we have." And he stood there looking at me dumbfounded. So I finally decided to just have it with out any broccoli. When the food finally came out, the steak was pathetic. It was smaller then the mashed potatoes, and there was no size listed on the menu, so I guess I didn't know what to expect. I asked for it to be well done, and it was barely well done. In most places I would have sent it back, but I just wanted to eat and leave. So I paid for a full meal, and didn't even get enough food to fill me up. My wife did get a lot for her meal, but said it wasn't the best either. Once we had out meal, our waiter never came back to check on us. I could have used a drink refill, but until he came back I was done eating, and just wanted to leave. So my wife just asked for the check. Well, the Super Bowl had started about five minutes before this, and can you guess what our waiter was interested in, it sure wasn't us. All he wanted to do was watch the TVs, and it took almost five minutes for him to bring back out check. Once we finally paid, we made a quick exit, and don't plan on ever going back. read more

Honestly the worst experience I had at one of their locations. I usually visit the Camp Hill or Harrisburg locations but since my bf works in Hummelstown we decided to check it out. We entered and asked the hostess for a booth, she stated she didn t have one available. After 15 seconds of the staring game I asked do you have anything available? Lol I couldn't believe we were just standing here when I needed a drink after the week I had smh. Finally she spoke and said it'll be a few minutes, we sat at the bar....I seen happy hour on the sign ending at 7!! Perfect I asked the bartender for a happy hour menu-i looked at my bf ummm did he just throw the menu omg I was done! Thank God the hostess came saying our table was ready. I brushed it off and said let's eat. We got a great server thank God and ordered some apps and drinks, everything's great so far considering. A big party comes in now at this point our dinner order has already been placed ... so we thought. Our waiter gets pulled to handle the larger party, thanks for letting us know. At this point 30 minutes have passed. I stopped another waiter and she said she'll get my waiter right away. She never came, finally a waiter who was filling in for our waiter came to check in. I made her aware it's been 45 minutes and no food. She went to check and sent a manager over- he was no help! Moral of the story the big party superced our little table of two because our order was never placed per the fill in waiter and we didn't hear it from her were her words upon walking away smh. Of course the manager tried to deny it when he delivered our food and after we kindly denied receiving the order and any further service, he got honest and apologized about everything then took care of the check. I was beyond pissed. The one star is because the customer service in this restaurant is poor, priorities were out of order and I believe the lack of open communication make the staff look and seem confused about what their jobs entails. I have been here a handful times and I am just EH about it. All of the food at the Aroogas' is hit or miss. They have a gigantic menu and some of the stuff they pull off well, some not so much. The wings are usually pretty good though the past couple of times I had them they weren't as crispy and I hate that I have to pay extra to get them crispier. Its not much but come on, don't nickel and dime me! This particular Aroogas I feel like the service isn't as good as some of the other ones and the inside of the place looks like the inside of a Jukebox. The windows are covered up so its so dark in there. That's okay I guess, but I would rather see the outside. Though the outside in this case would just be a parking lot and more strip mall...I don't know. Not a deal breaker, just not my kind of place. It sort of feels "dirty" because its so dark. I prefer the one on 22 if I have to go to Aroogas. But this one is fine for drinks and a snack if you're in the area. read more

I did not expect to have such wonderful food at this restaurant. It is advertised as a sports bar but they had plant-based options they had wraps with quinoa and brown rice which I had they were excellent. They had a variety of IPA beers....The service was great!!... I would highly recommend this place to any traveler I will certainly stop here again on my way through next time!!! read more

I can not stress enough that the food was delicious. The service, sadly, was atrocious. We were seated within the 10 minutes quoted by a friendly hostess. During his wait, I grabbed a beer at the bar (happy hour prices 5-7). I took my beer to the table when we were seated. We waited, and waited. No waitstaff approached. Two other tables directly next to us were seated after us in the same section and served drinks before anyone even greeted us. My partner went to find the manager who told us (without even asking he server) that my beer must have confused the waiter into thinking we had been served. Has no one ever had a drink at the bar while waiting before? Also, did the manager have some telepathic connection to he waiter to know what his excuse was? Within a few minutes a frazzled waitress from another section came to cover our table. She was sweet, but the manager clearly told her we were upset and so she started us off with a shower of excuses about how we weren't her section and now, in addition to being super slammed, she was covering an extra table. She was pleasant, but failed to tell our 10 year old that they did not have teriyaki sauce for his boneless wings and haphazardly substituted something else. When we asked for a different sauce later, a food runner informed us it would be an extra charge (because they made a mistake?). The manager never came back to check on us. The waitress only checked in on us after we were done eating. Ihave worked as a waitress, hostess, bartender and line cook. It is customary in these situations to have a manager check in on you after an issue and sometimes even offer something to your table (appetizer, drink, dessert) other than poor excuses and continued neglect. I had great service and great food. After first arriving to the bar I was greeted right off by the bartender. The food was great, even better than some other locations, the display/plating for my app was excellent, clean, and had vibrant colors - for a bar that is usually rare. My meal, while larger than it needed to be was very good. I was able to get two (mixed) drinks, an app, and a full entree (not just burger) for under 40.00 including tip great value for this tourist filled area. Not a favorite of mine. Boneless wing special had dry meat. Extra charge for carrots and celery and another extra charge for ranch or blue cheese. When I asked if I could substitute a salad for the fries on the crab cake I was told yes. When the bill cac me I was charged $3 for the salad. That is not a substitute in my dictionary. I ordered boneless wings and some old bay seasoning on it. The chicken was rock hard and not really moist at all. What kind of wing place doesn't give you accurate descriptions of the 37 different sauces they have, along with only allowing you to order ONE sauce out of THIRTY SEVEN flavors. Whoever heard of a place known for wings would have 2 different size wings? My brother-in-law ordered just wings and they looked like regular jumbo wings. I ordered the combo of ribs and wings, and my wings were half the size of the order of regular wings. The 1/2 rack of ribs was more like a 1/4 rack. We are regulars at this Aroogas - food has always been good, service has been up and down over the years. Last night was a new low. We waited 15 minutes even though there were empty tables (not cleaned though - more on that later). Eventually got seated but no one came to greet us, take a drink order for over 15 minutes. I realized if I wanted a drink i'd have to go to the bar to get it myself which I did. Eventually the hostess walked past and we asked if anyone was responsible for our table, she tried to get someone to help us, and when that didn't happen she came back and took our order! The hostess!! Meanwhile tables were emptying all around us and no one was cleaning them - by the time we left on all sides of us there were leftover food dishes (disgusting!). No one seemed to care. We did get our food over time, kept going to the bar for our own drinks as no one every really came to see how we were doing. Weirdest and most disappointing experience I've ever experienced. By the time we left there was hardly anyone there, and yet no one seemed to care that we were paying customers. We have the hostess our tip directly as she was the only one who ever had any interest in us (well, the bartender was very friendly as well). Disappointed as this is our "go to" local place, especially to watch sports. We'll give it one more chance.... read more

My family and I went out for lunch. The restaurant was not busy at all. There were about 6 tables when we were there. The waitress took our drink order, appetizer and we placed our daughters meal as well. We sat and waited for her meal and appetizer for over 15mins. When they arrived my daughters meal was completely cold and the appetizer was cold as well. The waitress asked how everything was, we told her everything's cold. The manager came over and asked if he could do anything. He remade my daughters cheeseburger and some of our appetizer as well. As we waited over 20mins for our meals two cheese steak subs. Meanwhile there's only about 4 tables at this point. We finally received our meal. My steak was burnt and cold, I couldn't eat it. My tots were super greasy and yummy. My husbands sub was cold as well. Wasn't very happy. We order takeout all the time. The food is hot when we do takeout, you would think sitting down at a table it would be hotter!? read more
