This is easily the most fun restaurant in the lodge thanks to its bar, gaming areas, music stage, and overall energy. It's less about the food and more about the experience and that's not a bad thing. I went during a conference, and the live performances were chef's kiss they brought the whole space to life. The food itself is solid but not the main attraction. It gets the job done, but you're really here for the vibe, the music, and the late-night energy. Update: moving this to one star, as clearly the gf fries weren't gf. Food's more or less ok. Despite saying almost everything can be made gluten free, it's just adding an Udi's bun or gf fries. The fried pickles? Gluten! The onion rings? Gluten! Wings? Gluten! Service was good. Can't blame them for the food or ambiance. Speaking of ambiance, it's sports bar meets screaming children in a high school cafeteria. It's the same moderately padded stacking chairs you sit on at a high school basketball game. I recently visited The Bears' Den, and honestly... it landed right in the middle for me. I had been here years ago, and walking back in felt like stepping into the exact same place nothing really changed. The theme is still very much intact, though. If you're a hockey fan, especially a Hershey Bears fan, you'll probably love the atmosphere. It's designed to feel like a mini arena banners hanging from the ceiling, jerseys framed on the walls, big screens behind the bar, and an overall sports bar vibe that leans heavily into Hershey hockey history. The space itself isn't huge, but it's a decent size and works well for families or casual groups. There's also a small arcade area, which sounds fun... until you realize it runs on the same card system Hershey uses everywhere. You have to load money onto a card at a machine, and (shocker) you can't get that money back out. It's convenient in theory, but it definitely feels like one of those "your money lives here now" situations. Now, the food. It wasn't bad... but it also wasn't good. Everything sounded great on the menu, but what came out was just... average. We ordered burgers, and they were fine. Not memorable, not exciting just food. The kind you eat and immediately forget about. Pricing was exactly what you'd expect for a Hershey property on the higher side for what you're getting. For four of us, the bill was around $70 before tip (and that's without anything over the top). So here's the bottom line: * Cool theme * Family-friendly * Food worth coming back for Would I go back? Pretty good bar for a hotel. Total sports bar vibe, which I guess makes sense. Now that I think about it, why a hockey bar? Is Hershey part owner? Service was good. The people were friendly and did not cut us off or throw us out. That's was really rad of them, LOL. There was absolutely reason, I would say, so kudos for being cool! The place closed way too early for our needs. We do however like to party a bit when we are all together. We usually want people to just break the rules for us and are heavily persuasive as a group. You would probably be surprised how many times we are successful in being total asshats and getting our way. A bar full of salespeople can be difficult to manage if you are not skilled. In hindsight, they probably were totally ready for us to leave. It's bright inside and there are TV's everywhere. Those TV's make for a chaotic environment with all of the movement, but hey, that's just me and my weird brain problems. The food is mediocre and run of the mill, but absorbs alcohol fairly well. This is the casual dining option within Hershey Lodge and a good option at that. The food was perfect for the kids - hamburgers, chicken tenders, hotdogs, and the like. There are other choices for adults too, like beer! The beer list was pretty good with many local options. Also if you wanted to catch sports on TV, there is not better spot; I lost count of the TVs across the room. Service was good, particularly when considering the number of tables. First time bringing the whole family while we visit Hershey Park for the holidays. We had chicken quesadilla, garlic parm wings, sundae's, beer, & the white cosmo & the creamy chocolate martini. Came here on a Saturday night with 3 kids and 2 adults. The host was a bit rude and we felt an attitude when we requested a different table since we had kids. Our server greeted us and asked if she could get us drinks and our order. We had literally just sat down. We asked for more time and when she returned with our drinks very quickly, asked if we were ready. We felt very rushed. The kids meals were decently priced considering it was Hershey. I only had about half an hour before meeting started in Wild Rose Conference Room at 1pm, so I let waitress know that as I ordered well done burger with homemade chips and diet Pepsi. When we stay at the Hershey Lodge we usually get food to go. The few times we tried sit there's a 20-30 min wait. The kids are usually at the pool so food to go is fine. One of the things about staying at the Hershey Lodge is that it offers a few restaurants with something for every budget. We arrived late in the afternoon and were tired from an active day. We decided on the Bear's Den. I had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries and my wife had the club sandwich. The burger was very fresh and a large patty and cooked perfectly. This was our first stop when arriving at Hershey Lodge. We were starving. We got in immediately. Their menu is newspaper style and very unique. I ordered the Mexican street corn appetizer and the smash mouth burger. The corn was good. It had pulled pork on top the cheesy corn. The burger was pretty good with the jalepenos and sauce. It was huge. Hubby had the cheesesteak and onion rings and our little one ordered the grilled cheese. All in all, the food was good. I feel it's overpriced though. It's not a huge restaurant.
