Now I understand why it was so easy and quick to get a consult appt with him. I have been dealing with a scapula issue since 2017. I was seeing another doctor for a couple of years but he left my insurance. And, I got busy with grad school. Also, it was just symptom management and wasn't correcting the problem. I have done everything under to moon. Including spending thousands of dollars out of pocket to help me. The pain and soreness is unlike anything I have experienced. It has a "tortuous" psychological aspect to it. Kind of what I would imagine water drop on the forehead torture would be. It's painful and always snapping and popping. Pain is now radiating to other parts of my body. I didn't want surgery at the beginning but I'm starting to get desperate after dealing with this for years and it's getting worse. I'm very happy to start PT and shots again in hopes of bypassing sx. I was open on my forms and shared I have fibromyalgia (FM). However, it's been well-controlled for several years now. He was hyper-focused on that though. So rude and unprofessional. "Well your alignment (with my layers of clothes on) is fine and so is your strength". - Nothing to do with the pain and discomfort I experience. He was totally dismissive of my concerns and even the treatment I received in the past. He knows nothing about FM or "snapping scapula" if he thinks the specific symptoms of my scapula are due to FM. No way would I let this doctor touch me with a needle and he is not getting my business. For the first time... I got up, thanked him for his time, and walked out. I believe him to be biased toward overweight people, older people, women, and those with complex pain issues. Everyone has implicit bias but being a good provider means checking those at the door when you took an oath "to do no harm". The front office staff and MA were nice and professional, the office appeared clean, plenty of parking, fabric chairs in the waiting area, and the wait time was reasonable.

Once I finally saw the doctor, she suggested a follow up visit in 1 month. I asked if I should schedule it then, but she said no, they'd reach out & schedule with me directly. I never heard from them... 2 1/2 months later I tried calling them to schedule an appointment & experienced the same issues as the 1st time I tried to schedule an appointment- I finally reached someone @ 4 months past my initial appointment. I spoke w/ the scheduling person & she said she couldn't schedule & that someone would call me back that day, to schedule an appointment. Surprise, Surprise they never called... I've tried following up a few times since then, but again nobody answers... I've given up, doctor wasn't that great anyway- By the way, my initial appointment was in Jan 2024, it is now June 2024 & still haven't heard from them, other than a bill I received in May. If you're smart, you'd find another physician! I wish my insurance still took my original doctor.

It took months of back and forth. I would think they would be more attentive as people that go there are very often experiencing immense pain. Dr. Katrina Von Kriegenbergh is very attentive during the office visit. However, when the first shot didn't alleviate the pain she devised a plan b which included another set of shots and a proposed plan C if necessary. During the procedure nothing was explained, I was told to pick up my shirt and lay face down. No guidance as to what to expect from the procedure while the doctor and her assistant spoke to each other about irrelevant things. Perhaps it's due to them doing this repetitively however, it'd be less nerve racking if the procedure was briefly explained to the patient. After the shots I was told I'd get a follow up call within 2 days to see if they had worked, it's been over 6 months and I never received that call. I did however get a bill for over $200, for the shots they advised me wouldn't cost me anything out of pocket. Needless to say there will be no further follow up from me. I'll unfortunately have to look elsewhere.

We found ourselves at Coastal Ortho after my guy broke his fibula and Providence Urgent Care…read morereferred him. We got a next day early Saturday a.m. appointment and within 20-30 minutes he had x-ray and a diagnosis for surgery. Service was swift and staff was friendly and promised to call first thing Monday with details on surgery. Like clockwork we got the call and thus began the orchestration of pre-op labs and exam....stat as surgery was in a day and a half. We pulled it off, surgery went well and now the healing begins. This is my 2nd gig as a recovery coach, the 1st with my maman after her back surgery and this time with my guy's ankle. Can't say my bedside manner is stellar, but my cooking is terrific so no one goes hungry and my meals absolutely beat hospital food hands down. Ha! Turns out our next door neighbor knows Coastal Ortho well...she was treated by the team there and has only great things to report. My guy is in good hands and it's refreshing to know he'll be up and at 'em because of the fantastic care by the team there. Loads of parking. Easy to drive into and out of.
