I ordered takeout and it was very good food! I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala which came with Basmati Rice. The chicken was tender and the sauce was flavorful. I also ordered garlic naan on the side and it was delicious. I am certainly not an expert in Indian food and have only had Pani Puri at one other restaurant but this one was a little sweeter and had a different flavor profile. Not bad, but I wasn't expecting it. The potato filling was very tasty though and I could have eaten that on its own. All in all, I ate all of it and was happy to have ordered from here. Ordered some take out to try the place. I ordered a Goat dish and chicken biryani. It was okay. The biryani got whole chicken legs. I'm more fond of small pieces of meat in the biryani. The goat was still tough for me, perhaps I was looking for something the falling off the bone tenderness. It is definitely expensive otherwise, I could have tried other dishes also. It's definitely worth a try. My order is based on to-go. 2 orders vegetarian samosas 3 orders garlic Naan 1 Arora tandoori mixed grille 1 Chicken Tikka masala 1 Lamb Rogan Josh 1 Safron rice. I placed my order online from their website, I like that, they gave clear descriptions of the dishes, I think pictures would be good for first-time customers new to trying Indian cuisine. Everything was ready for pick up and traveled well back home, no spilling. Unpacked everything, and as soon as I opened the first containers, the delicious aromas of spices filled my kitchen, and my husband was more than happy to sample right out of the containers, lol. So, rice was fluffy, savory, and tasty on its own. I always like to try the rice first, before eating it with my entrée. Tandoori mixed grille, I highly suggest if you have had Indian food before and want to try and test the waters a bit. My lamb Rogan Josh is still a favorite of mine, and the portion is enough for lunch tomorrow. My hubby really enjoyed his Tikka masala. It's really his main thing to order, no matter where we go, but I like that he is willing to try different dishes. New place in town, the same owners as Royal Ganesha at the mall, I believe. They have wines and virgin drinks, but are also byob. We ordered the dal makhani, the tandoori shrimp, the delhi butter chicken, the methi machli, plain naan, garlic naan and the tandoori roti. The amount of food comfortably fed four people, as it also came with three bowls of rice. Each bread dish was cut in four pieces so it was perfect. The dal makhani, slow cooked lentils, was a great vegetarian dish, though possibly the least favorite, even though it was still good. The favorite was the methi machli, a salmon in curry dish. The butter chicken was standard butter chicken, no complaints. The tandoori shrimp came out hot on a skillet and was well seasoned. The bread pieces were a bit crispier than I was expecting, so it was harder to use to pick up the curry. I had to resort to using it like a tortilla chip. I was a little surprised at the price, I didn't really check the prices of each dish while ordering, but most main dishes seem to be in the high 20s, nearing thirty dollars. The ambiance is quite nice, I could see it being a backdrop for a small wedding. There is a price difference between cash and credit payment. My biggest issue was that a 6% fee is tacked on to the bill, I'm assuming for tip. But the tip options at the bottom of the receipt are on top of that 6%, so if you just blindly follow their suggestions, you could be paying a much higher tip than you mean to. read more

I came here with my friend last night, and was surprised to find such a stunningly beautiful Indian restaurant inside this non-descript strip mall. The owner and staff could not have been friendlier. The food was amazing. And I really appreciate the inclusion of vegan options, and that it's notated on the menu. The pakora (not listed as vegan, but is) was so crispy. The eggplant dish I got was full of flavor. My non-vegan friend got the tandoori chicken and we were both shocked by the portion. She has enough for another day or two. Such a great date night spot! Went there at 5 pm with my wife and 2 kids. I have to say they were incredibly kind and Gracious. My younger kid kept getting up and they were still incredibly friendly with him. The restaurant was clean and nicely furnished. It definitely didn't feel Indian, with generic furniture and Sinatra playing, but I guess they felt that made it more modern? The food was very disappointing. The menu was inaccurate and the food was really lackluster. It felt like a lot of the food was not made fresh or with fresh ingredients. All of the food felt like it came out of a premade box from the Indian grocery store. Naan and lassi were fine, but the indo Chinese was not good and the dessert tasted microwaved. I hope they can improve the food quality with fresher ingredients so that they can compete in the area. read more

Very Disappointing experience in the banquet hall , we felt unfairly and wrongly charged at the end of the baby shower. PLEASE GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE/BILL/CONTRACT BEFORE AGREEING TO ANYTHING . We scheduled our baby shower in their banquet hall. We were told it a certain price per head for 30-35 people AND NO OTHER CHARGES. To re-iterate .. there was no other charge mentioned even after we asked the owner THRICE... IN PERSON. The food was good, not great. And the service was really good , no complaints on the service front. However after the event , the owner hit us with surprise charges , added almost 25% ($400)as "hall charges" WHICH WAS NEVER MENTIONED . On top of that 18% gratuity was added on food + hall charges even AFTER we tipped the staff the same amount in cash . ( Also the gratuity is to be calculated on the food only not the surprise "hall price") . We ended up paying almost 50% more than we'd planned . This was disappointing and left a bad feeling after what should have been a happy day. We talked to the owner who refused to reduce more than a trivial amount and lied to our face that he'd always put this price and made up a phony bill AFTER THE EVENT. It was our fault we didn't take a picture or get some documentation, but it's a lesson we've learnt . We won't be going to any of the owners restaurants anytime soon read more

So I wasn't exactly expecting the best, most authentic Indian cuisine given the area and clientele they are catering to but it was well below average. I felt the food was very expensive and the portions were small. Nothing made me want to return. Not sure how they will survive given that there are other more established Indian restaurants in trendier downtown Freehold. I will say, the restaurant is beautifully done and the food is tastefully presented but at the end of the day, the quality, freshness, value and authenticity of the dishes will go a long way. Brand new Aroras Modern Bistro- I stopped by to pick up my "to go" order, and I must say the restaurant and bar are beautiful !!! Spacious, nicely lit, tastefully decorated. I ordered Lamb Biryani (mild) and it was perfect !! I also ordered Nan. The portion was generous with plenty of lamb. Honestly speaking, both items are worst. With these level of taste and quality, mark my words " Business will be shut down in months" if you are not changing the chef. You might appreciate those American folks who do not have idea of what the taste in India is like but none of our people. Related to my bill, don't say u made me a favor switching the biryani with a Thali. No one would bill that way, got billed for Biryani for $32 and not the Thali that's $17. Worst Food items. Biryani, very oily and no taste to the rice. Thali, chicken mixed with already made tasteless sauces, uncooked rice. You name it, worst in every aspect related to food. Food was good [ Chat, Harabara kababs & variety of chicken from the tandoor for starters, Aloo Gobi, Dhal, Anjeer kofta and Meethi Chicken for dinner with roti & veg Pulao ]. Issue was with no silverware for $45 a plate. Plastic forks/spoons and platic plates. With so much plastic floating in our rivers, lakes and ocean, its time we become sensitive to how much of this plastic garbage we throw away. First time i am experiencing an event in a restaurant where instead of China, they use plastic. Only a few of the kofta was Anjeer, most of them were just paneer without Anjeer. read more
