I tried the bollywood vegetable, the aloo achari, and the chana saag. The bollywood vegetable by far had the best flavor ranking at a very good dish. The aloo achari came in second being good. And the Chana saag at third being around average maybe slightly below average. The portions are average or slightly below. All of the food was good and the staff was friendly and accommodating with questions related to the menu. The prices are extremely high here for Indian food, all of the dishes I ordered were fully vegetable/vegan dishes and each dish averaged at $20 per. None were órgano as expected. It is an expensive area being located in red bank but because none of the dishes were what I would call extremely good, and the chana saag being average or below average. I'm not too sure I'd come back again.

We tried takeout from Agra tonight and were very pleased! We had the chicken Korma, Saag Paneer, Daal makhani, Navratan Korma, garlic naan & raita. Everything was delicious. The service was friendly and the restaurant looks looked nice but we were just in to pick up our order.

When they were opening, I was in town and saw the owner on the street. She told me she could accommodate vegan and gluten free. I had heard from friends who got take out that it was a good place and I remembered what she had said. My two friends and I finally visited the restaurant around 3pm in a Saturday. There were a few tables full, despite the sleet/ snow outside. The place is very neat and appealing and the leather seats are very comfortable. The thing I most appreciated was how the owner was able to work with me. I asked her if my favorite dish, Gobi Manchurian, could be made gluten free. I have tried this at other Indian restaurants before I was gluten free and fell in love with the sweet and tangy flavors. Other restaurants told me flat out that they couldn't make it gluten free. Nirmala, the owner, told me she would go back to the kitchen and see what they could do. They made me the most delicious Gobi Manchurian using rice flour. She even told me that they would give that as an option to gluten free diners. I was so happy to hear this. I enjoyed my appetizer even more because she made an effort to accommodate my request. My friends absolutely loved their dishes. They got curry and said the spice level was nice. One got a mango lassi and enjoyed it. I got Bollywood Vegetable and I got it mild because I can't handle spice. It was indeed mild and very tasty! We all loved our food so much. In fact, we are returning this weekend for another visit. And I am getting my favorite dish .

We came here on a cold and windy night. And the food filled us with warmth. The dishes were superb, from the spices of the individual dishes to the Naan bread. Definitely a 5-star restaurant. The service was excellent too, and they have vegan, vegetarian dishes, as well as shrimp, fish, lamb and chicken dishes. I highly recommend the assorted samosa, the fried cauliflower as appetizers, and the lamb Roganjosh, Bollywood vegetables and the spinach paneer as entrees. There are so many choices that I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes!

The food was out of this world. Spectacular. Such strong prominent flavors you really can't get at a lot of places. Really felt like a home cooked meal with a lot of careful love. The tanginess of the chicken was so prominent I really loved it. The goat curry was nice and tender and the bones were no issue to get by. The ambience is very pretty but the lights are extremely dim. It would be nicer if I could see my food a little more but none the less the taste was divine. I really don't want to tarnish the good reviews given to this place, I think it can be very deserving of 5 stars, but the service could be improved communication wise . I like the concept of bring your own bottle , my father wished it was more obvious though but maybe we missed a sign. I just drink water anyway so I'm bit chillin. I need to come here again though, the options were fantastic and I will not forget this meal

The presentation was fun with the smoke and opportunity to try all the flavors makes it worth getting. I would say the ambiance is made to seem like its for insta worthy spot. It's modern but not fully upscale. However, I did appreciate the plate change between appetizer and entree. The staff was friendly and assisted with providing suggestions on what is popular. They were tentative on checking in once we were ready to order. The portion size is smaller here. We ordered 3 appetizer, one curry, and naan. Rice was complimentary if I remember correctly. For appetizer we ordered the modern twist items from the menu which included the burrata chaat, tandoori momo, and chicken katsu bao buns. We weren't the biggest fan of tandoori momo and they were tad cold. But the burrata chaat was different and good along with the chicken katsu which was flavorful. However, we wish there was a little more spicy aioli for the bao buns or a side of it to dip for the parts that get a little dry without it. Definitely recommend those two if you're debating on what to order. For the entree we got the famous butter chicken as we were told that is what they are known for and it was mediocre so I would definitely try something else. The garlic naan was classic and flakey. This place is byob and in the complex in the back there is a liquor store incase you want to grab something before. You can make reservation online.

Since moving to upstate NY four years ago, I only get to Good Karma when visiting family in NJ. During our latest trip we stopped at Good Karma to pick-up dinner on the way to my parent's house. We ordered the Love Bowl, Gado Gado Salad, and the Live Nachos. Issues: 1) The Gado Gada salad was a big miss. It's supposed to include lettuce, tofu, cabbage, carrots, roasted peanuts, and a sesame seed mix. There was ZERO sesame seed mix and literally ONE roasted peanut. We had asked the tofu be swapped for beans, which did happen, but basically all my wife got was a salad with lettuce and beans. 2) Live Nachos: what a HUGE disappointment. I've had these a number of times in the past and was really looking forward to these. One of my favorite parts has always been the creamy cashew sour cream. THIS TIME, there was one small dollop of the cashew cream. We basically paid $15 for a box of seasoned lettuce with 8 nacho chips -- not nearly enough chips to even eat with our seasoned lettuce. The Love Bowl, fortunately, was on par with my past experiences. However, the experience still left me questioning whether it's worth returning to Good Karma next time.

Again, this is really not the place to order traditional Indian food. The beauty lies in the modern, creative dishes and flavors. In fact, if you want to order a traditional dish, the owner will likely not let you!! But letting him guide my journey was the best choice because we had some exciting flavors that are unlike anything else you will try. My favorites were the bhel puri with guacamole (so good with some papadum to dip) and the malai kofta tacos. They were absolute flavor perfection and so unique. The ambience is super casual but the owner will treat you like it is a Michelin star dining experience! He brought out lots of fun (free) snacks in between the courses. Given this, I would prepare for at least 2 hours for the full dine in experience. Again, not what you would expect from an Indian spot in a strip mall but it was such an unexpected delight. Overall it was an excellent culinary experience but make sure you reset your expectations if you are looking for quick, traditional Indian cuisine. They also don't use seed oil and use pure tallow as fat if that is your thing. PS it's BYOB so make a nice night out of it!
