It looks like most of the reviews were from a long time ago. We had an engagement shoot with them…read morerecently and it was not the best experience to say the least. It was our first professional photoshoot ever and we were very excited. However shortly after we arrived, he stated "I'm so tired. This is my third engagement shoot of the day and I flew in from Italy last night." ...Not exactly the words you want to hear when you're paying $800 and have been looking forward to this moment for the last month or so. But I thought, well maybe he's just tired, I'll keep an open mind. It didn't get better...his directions felt very "posed". I wanted our photos to look very candid. I thought maybe it's because I'm not a model so it's never going to feel comfortable - well, our photos ended up looking very posed and not candid at all. Additionally, he wasn't very personable or positive at all, which doesn't help two people who aren't professional models feel comfortable in front of the camera. He would just tell us to smile. It was very unhelpful. I would also like to add, his editing or the lens he used made me look fat. I know they say the camera adds 10 pounds, but as a person with a low-normal BMI, I know it's not me. I even got comments from my honest friends that these photos don't look like me at all and that I looked pregnant!! How mortifying!! He even bragged during our shoot about how he often shoots really luxurious weddings that are 300,000 dollars...that's great and all but we still paid your asking price for the engagement shoot and never even tried to negotiate a lower price. My fiancé and I make decent money, but it felt like if you're not one of their super wealthy clients, then you're not important. We did not feel like valued clients at all.

So when my sister was planning her wedding, my husband and I decided to book her a photobooth as part of her wedding gift. However, there were just a few things we didn't love about our photobooth experience so we did not want to book from the same company. My guests had a great time but the company we used had horrible customer service and took forever to answer emails. So we did a ton of internet research for other companies in the LA area. Cut to: Maple Leaf Photobooths. Maple Leaf alleviated all of our concerns. Chris answered all emails very promptly and addressed all of my questions and concerns right away. I really appreciated that attention to professionalism. That is what made us decide to ultimately book Maple Leaf. They were a bit more pricey than other vendors we inquired with but, based on quality of care he had already exhibited, we felt it would be worth it. Weddings are stressful enough to plan without having to hunt down answers from vendors. We were confident that it would be worth paying a bit more for quality. We were right. Maple Leaf was a completely stress-free vendor. Aside from the impressive level of professionalism, the photobooth attendant was a million times better than I have witnessed at other weddings, including my own. He was interactive and fun. He helped facilitate fun when guests seemed aloof and was very open and friendly. Other experiences I've had, the photobooth attendants don't really seem interested in anything but waiting until it's time to pack up and go. It really made a huge difference in energy that, this time, the attendant was a bit of an entertainer and had a genuine interest in everyone having a good time. Maple Leaf also customized the logo for our prints and emailed me templates to choose from. This was a nice extra touch. The logo we used was the same one from my sister's invitation so it really went well with the overall theme of the wedding. Maple Leaf did a great job. I highly recommend them.

The BIG DIFFERENCE between this Maple Leaf and all of the other photobooths is that there is actually a person staffing the booth that is fun and personable - helping out with props, suggesting fun poses, being patient with retake requests. I've seen OTHER photobooths where there is either no one staffing the booth, or the person staffing the booth has zero personality. I also love that you get hard copies of the pictures right away in addition to getting them electronically. Don't waste your time looking at other photobooths - the quality and service Maple Leaf provides is by far the best.
