I also used to take yoga classes sometimes in Burbank with Jamie and she would incorporate sound healing into the class which was really nice. Jamie is a consummate professional. Always kind, always on time (hauling all that equipment back-and-forth!), very educational about the healing applications of sound. She does a good job of getting people set up properly to have a good experience. I believe that the purpose of a sound bath is to train your brain and psyche into a state of peaceful neutrality. Some people get a bit of a high from it. Either way, It's a beautiful experience to share with other people and I've witnessed a lot of people get positive benefits out of it. I haven't taken any sound healing training sessions with Jamie but having known her for over 14 years I'm sure that she makes them very informative and fun.

So, I arrived even earlier than the recommended 15 minutes. And what I came to find is a very intentional, organized operation. Plastic boxes are provided at check-in, for your shoes and belongings that you place into a cubby. The room is mindfully and beautifully designed, clean, and orderly. They don't pack in as many people as they can to get their money's worth. And there were mats, pillows, eye masks, and crystals set up for a total of 8 people. The two owners work as a team, and begin with a brief "what to expect" and Q&A session. Then, for the theta class, they warm you up with a little partners rainstick exercise standing up (nothing too awkward)... then everyone lays back and gets situated, takes some deep breaths, and is transported by a magical medley of drums, synth speakers, singing bowls and gongs. If you've ever had acupuncture and sort of been in that blissful in-between state of delicious sleep and slight wakefulness... that was my experience. While I understand that some might be peeved about the strict no latecomers policy, anyone who actually has experienced this sound bath would probably understand why they run such a tight ship. Besides, punctuality is a nice way to enter into this (and any) intentional journey. Also... grow up! :) Would happily do it again!

The fellow yelpers who gave this company a 5 star rating were not exaggerating, Serve the Goddess lived up to every expectation I had. Dealing with the owner, Helen, in setting up the service was very easy as she allowed me to do the majority via email (I'm hardly ever available for phone), was prompt in responding and was very laid back, which is very important for spa people! Half of the balance was required as a down which seems reasonable since they can't book other parties, and the remainder due a week or so before the event. Everything was easily invoiced, emailed over and payment was done via credit card. Now to the fun details of the party, had 15 people total for a pampering spa day, so had 4 techs: 1 for mini facials, 1 for pedi/foot massage (some girls had already done pedicures and didn't want to mess them up so Helen agreed to give an option), 1 for a neck, back & shoulder chair massage & 1 palm reader. Each of the procedures were 20 mins and the girls got to do each of the procedures so they didn't have to pick. Many of the girls commented that they were surprised that the techs didn't rush them and it allowed them to really have fun and not feel like they were just pushing people thru the procedures. I found the prices to be very reasonable and everyone had an amazing time so I recommend Serve the Goddess for any event that requires some pampering.

I came in with acute low back pain, pelvic misalignment, and other related issues. I threw my back out in early April and couldn't walk without agony. I sought out Michael's massages from the recommendation of my naturopathic doctor. And I'm so glad that I did. Michael has been such a patient and attentive healer in my journey towards getting to the source of this pain. And what's great is that he isn't possessive in his approach; instead, he is ever ready to recommend that I see certain specialists to assist in this healing journey. I really appreciate his openness because I've been piecing together this puzzle for years, and it is a breath of fresh air to work with a healer who isn't suspicious of other schools of thought or modalities but embraces the plurality of what a patient/client needs to get better. From Michael's work alone, I can now go several days without pain which is a huge improvement. Side bonus, I'm no longer cold. I've seen Michael twice a week for the past 2 months and he moved so much energy around that I'm not freezing anymore. I used to have cold hands and feet no matter what I did and just thought it was a quirky thing about me. But no. I was just super stagnate! No other massage therapist has been able to transform so much energy. He's unique and a beautiful soul. Vielen dank, Michael!

From the moment I arrived, every detail of my stay was handled with such care, warmth, and professionalism that it truly made all the difference in my recovery. Assaf (aka Safy) and Kathy were nothing short of amazing, combining deep clinical knowledge with the kind of genuine compassion that makes you feel completely safe and cared for. They anticipated my needs before I could even ask, were attentive to every detail of my comfort and pain management, and made me feel like I was their top priority at all times. The night nurse, Angie, was also wonderful--calm, reassuring, and consistently checking on me throughout the night to ensure I was comfortable, monitored, and able to rest. The setting at Alma is serene and calming, which made it easy to relax and focus on healing; the facility itself is gorgeous, thoughtfully designed, and truly feels like an intimate luxury retreat rather than an impersonal, hospital‑like setting. My room, the Tranquility Suite, was incredibly comfortable and peaceful, and the overall atmosphere created a sense of privacy and tranquility that supported my recovery beautifully. One of the highlights of my stay was the food, which was anything I wanted, made fresh to order, and absolutely delicious. I refuse to believe that Kathy is not a professional chef in her spare time! Having access to freshly prepared, customized meals not only made me feel pampered but also supported my healing and comfort during a vulnerable time. The owner, Rinat, went above and beyond to make last‑minute accommodations for me when an administrative error arose with Prestige Aftercare, and she even allowed my sister to stay with me, which meant the world to us. That flexibility and kindness turned what could have been a stressful situation into a blessing, and I could not be happier that I ended up at Alma. I would absolutely choose Alma Aftercare again without hesitation if I ever need postoperative care in the future, and I 1000% recommend this facility to anyone who is planning surgery. I truly loved my nurses so much--Safy, Kathy, and Angie were all incredible--and I am deeply grateful for the exceptional care and compassion I received at Alma. Thank you all!

There was a lot of street parking outside, but the meters will only let you pay for exactly 1 hour and the class is an hour. I was a little nervous I would get a ticket, but it ended up not being a problem. It says on the website for the yoga studio that there's a parking lot a block or so away but being from out of town and not having a lot of buffer time I didn't want to be late to the class so I risked the ticket. The class was about half full and I appreciated that the teacher always gave modifications for people who either were not able to get into a full posture or wanted to go further in the posture. I did think that the studio floor could've used a sweeping, but that's what my mat is for I guess! I could see a little dust, bunnies and hair on the floor while we were in some of the lower postures though.

We arrived 15-20 minutes before our scheduled service and were kindly greeted by the front desk staff and shown to the locker room. The locker room has 2 bathrooms, 2 showers, lockers, and various cleansers and products to use before/after service. We then went into their "relaxation room" waiting area before our service started to wind down and fill out the massage intake forms. It was like a cozy living room with couches, lounge chairs, a fireplace, and refreshment bar with spa water, iced tea, and hot tea. I liked that the form asked questions like how talkative you would like your masseuse to be, if you have any injuries/tender spots, and preferred pressure firmness. My partner had booked us the "Escape Together" package which included a 20-minute copper bath and 60-minute couples massage in the outdoor cabana. The bath was totally relaxing and the jets turning off signaled the end of our 20-minute soak. We returned to the relaxation room where we were greeted by our masseuses Rachel and Lana who guided us to the cabana. We were prompted to choose our preferred essential oil for the aromatherapy concept. Lana provided a very relaxing massage for me and was very sweet. I would have enjoyed firmer pressure but I think it was my fault for circling "Gentle" on the form. I usually go to more budget-friendly Asian spas where their default pressure is usually quite rough. My partner said she enjoyed her massage with Rachel as well. After the massage, they brought us some iced tea and let us know that we were welcome to use the dry sauna and encouraged us to stay hydrated. We spent about 10 minutes in the sauna before ending our time. I greatly enjoyed my time here. The spa was clean, relaxing, and every single one of the staff members we interacted with were wonderful. I would highly recommend a visit here for individuals or couples.
