After another plumbing company scheduled an appointment for us and then later canceled it with no explanation, we called True Plumbing on Monday morning. Eric from True Plumbing showed up when he said he would, took a quick look at our problem, and explained the three possible causes of the leak, along with how much each would cost to fix if said problem was found. The area would have to be minimally excavated to locate the underground leak. He was very up front about what the diagnostic process would be and what the repairs would entail for each of the three possible scenarios, including what he would do to avoid damaging the driveway. Eric was transparent, very easy to communicate with, and obviously a knowledgable, experienced plumber. After that five-minute conversation, my husband and I both felt 100% comfortable hiring True Plumbing to come back with a team to excavate the problem the next day. True Plumbing got to work when they said they would, the day before Christmas Eve no less. Sure enough, the problem was scenario #1 on their list of three possible causes of the leak. A decade before we bought the house, the sprinkler system had been connected to the house's water pipes using an illegal part that had finally failed. True Plumbing said that since sprinkler technicians are not certified plumbers, problems like that are common. Be careful who you hire to tamper with your water pipes! True Plumbing fixed the leak and we had water restored to the house within a couple of hours! The cost ($800) matched the verbal estimate to the penny. I had recently had my AC cleaned by another company and then when they left it stopped working. I suspected foul play, so I called CB AIR. Christian identified the problem on the system that was previously cleaned and he found two wires not connected. The two wires that needed to be connected to run the AC. I thought it was odd that after the other company charged me $1850 to clean the fan and coils, his parting words were "don't expect this cleaning to make your system cool your house." My system is old he wanted to sell he an entire new system! Thank you, Christian and CB Air for honest, competent work! I will use you now and refer you as often as I can! It appeared from my testing and checking that it was the "controller board" which I could have bought online from the gate manufacturer for almost $600. I called Reliable Overhead Door and was told they sold a newer model controller for less than $500 if that was truly what it needed. They sent their crew of Ryan and Caleb out within hours, and after spending less than an hour on site they discovered a ground wire that had been cut by the continuous open/closing of the gate. It honestly wasn't wired very well 12 years ago by the company that built and installed the gate in my opinion. I was charged just for the service call - labor and minor parts to repair the broken wire were included.
