Paradise truly has the best machines, and even when it's busy, you can always get your full workout in because there's such a great variety and volume of quality equipment. That alone sets them apart. The environment is friendly, fun, and upbeat, which makes it a place you actually look forward to going to. What I also love is that there's access to trainers for both beginners and more advanced lifters, so no matter where you're at in your fitness journey, you'll feel comfortable and supported here. The owner, Elsa, is incredibly accommodating and clearly takes pride in her business. It's obvious she invests both time and money into making this gym stand out. The layout is well thought out and flows in a way that just makes sense--you can tell a lot of planning went into it. The gym is very well equipped with all the extras you might need to do any workout. She also has more upcoming renovations planned which shows she's committed to keeping the gym fresh and continually improving. I'm excited to see what Elsa has in store. Overall, Paradise Gym stands above the rest. Highly recommend!

I've gone to other locations too but this one is by far my favorite and feels the least cramped. I specifically go to this location because I do the group fitness class with Diane. My coworkers and I all got memberships because of Diane's classes! I don't understand how she doesn't have more days at this location or any other location. Overall, the LaVerne location is spacious, clean, and welcoming. It is very rare that the saunas are out of commission and if you come often enough the friendly staff will come to recognize you. Suggestions for improvements for the La Verne location: - My coworker has to pick up her children 5 minutes before our group fitness class ends. This is a pretty sucky policy. If a mother is coming to a gym to relieve stress at least allow her to finish her class to the end. It's not a family friendly policy at all. ********** - Replace the bikes (front row) in the theater room with more treadmills. I can't tell you how many times I see people walking out because all of the treadmills are taken but the bike row is completely empty. - Add one more rack of dumbbell weights in the outdoor area. One rack isn't enough. I greatly appreciate all of my "MORE" membership benefits and have personally taken advantage of the body composition scan, sauna, buddy pass, and group fitness classes.

He took the time to show me around the entire gym, answered every question I had professionally, and even gave me a complimentary guest pass even though I'm not from the area. The gym itself is clean, well-equipped, and has an awesome atmosphere. The only reason I didn't sign up for a membership is because there isn't a location that's convenient for where I live. If there were, I'd join without hesitation. Gustavo's professionalism and hospitality made an already great gym experience even better. Highly recommend both Curl Fitness and Gustavo if you get the chance to work with him.

Curl Fitness was originally a Crunch Fitness, which is why you'll still see some of the old Crunch…read moretrainers working there. The Pros: The biggest advantage of this gym is the variety of classes, like dance. Their equipment is also top-notch, especially the free weights--they use some of the best brands in the industry. Because of the high-end equipment, you'll notice that the membership fees are on the higher side. The Cons (Hygiene & Maintenance): Despite the nice gear, the facility is extremely dirty and feels like it's never been cleaned. The handles on the treadmills and ellipticals are often sticky, and there is a thick layer of dust underneath the machines. It's gross! If you've ever been to the Planet Fitness in Diamond Bar, you'll realize just how dirty Curl actually is. The most shocking thing I've witnessed is the cleaning process. The cleaning lady uses the same brush to scrub the inside of the toilet bowl and then the toilet seat. Seeing her scrub the bowl and then immediately wipe the seat with the same tool is horrifying! To be clear, she works very hard and I'm not blaming her personally--management simply hasn't provided her with the proper tools or training. Additionally, there is a light in the shower area that has been out forever and never gets repaired. Atmosphere & Service: Another bizarre thing is that they don't turn on the AC during the winter. It gets incredibly hot inside. Perhaps that's better for the elderly members, but it's uncomfortable for a real workout. Furthermore, the front desk staff is completely indifferent; when you walk in, they treat you like you're invisible. Bottom Line: I only kept this membership because my child has an enrichment class nearby, and it's a convenient place to wait. If my kid weren't taking classes in this area, I definitely wouldn't keep this membership.

The bathrooms are fine also. The gym equipment (the reason I joined) is pretty awesome. I've been lifting for 50 years, and the newer machines in the marketplace are just amazing. The Smith machines at Rebirth are the smoothest I've ever used, although they should get one more as they are always busy. Of course, it gets crowded, but I lift with the intention of "keep moving" so I can always find something to use if a certain machine is being used. And a polite "how many sets left" usually helps in the wait time. I do agree with two comments. It's not well lit and with the black walls and ceiling makes for a dreary atmosphere. And the music is just AWFUL. 99% of the people have headphones listening to their own music, yet the volume is completely off-putting. Better music at a lower volume and a brighter atmosphere and it's 5 stars. So far, I recommend this place. Lastly, the people are absolutely great. So helpful and nice. The ladies at the front desk are fantastic. Not a bad egg in the bunch. If you are kind and polite, they respond appropriately.

You are going to spend more money and have more issues at another gym. Trust. The pregnant manager goes around and sanitizes and vacuums--that's not going to happen at other gyms. Staff is super nice and friendly. The gym does run its A/C. Thank you for not being cheap because I don't know who wants to workout in a hot and stinky gym. Members keep to themselves--reasons why I have left other gyms. I'm giving it a 5 (but really a 4.5). I wish they had more/better equipment. They really need machines similar to Gold's Gym. Gold's has more leg machines but their stuff is always broken lol. Fit 19 has some repetitive and hardly-used equipment. I love that you can go into the studio and access all the kettlebells/weights/bars/mats This is usually restricted in other gyms. They often do not let you use weights in the studios at other places. The turf area is nice as well and is always kept clean and organized. People don't leave weights all around the gym--like at other gyms. The equipment is rarely broken like at other gyms with higher price points. You'll be lucky if LA Fitness' cardio machines are working. The spin bike room is so nice compared to other gyms as well. There's a lot more bikes compared to other spin rooms. All in all, you get what you pay for and in my opinion, I'm getting more than what I pay for--$10 a month. But this is not a gym; it is a training facility where you work with trainers to tackle your physical goals. Next, this is about my trainer, Kevin Abandy. Kevin has been my trainer for exactly 8 weeks now and he is awesome! I made the decision to get a trainer after my birthday to truly invest in myself. You can invest in your own skills and education, but the return is almost always indirect. But with a trainer, specifically Kevin, I gained 8 lbs of muscle mass and lost 8% body fat (approx. 13-lbs of fat) after 8 weeks of training with him. Also, at the start of my training, I had back pain (from past injury to T12) and knee pains (from under the kneecap). Through Kevin's program and coaching, my pain has been reduced to near 0 with full mobility -- like squatting all the way down and up with 200-lbs of weight on my shoulders with no knee pain. I would give a 1-star review to keep it from getting crowded, but it would be hard for me to not tell others about the good that comes out of this place. My mom is 70 and she's training with Kevin too! And the story is the same for her... knee pains - GONE. Back pains - GONE. If you're reading this and decide to get a consultation with Kevin, please let him know you saw Alex's review so he knows his method is making an impact.

I've been working with Mia for almost 6 months now and have dropped about 5% in body fat and gained 7% in muscle mass. I would have never considered myself "overweight" but knew I needed to lose a few pounds. I've tried the traditional membership gyms but always found that I would lose interest or motivation. When I started inquiring about personal trainers, Mia was very prompt at answering. During our consultation I did a body fat scan and was shocked to find out that I was nearly 25%. We talked and I learned that it was less about the weight and more about body composition and fat/muscle percentages. Due to my work schedule we were able to meet twice a week for an hour a session. Mia adds good variety to our workouts and I definitively know that I push myself more during our sessions that I normally would have if I were doing the workouts by myself. She also places an emphasis on nutrition and offers advice on what to eat and what to stay away from. The last couple of years my diet has gotten progressively worse, and she's been a great help in getting me back on track. I've noticed that I've started making much healthier choices in the foods I eat. still have a ways to go but would highly recommend Mia for helping you get you to your goals!

From the moment we approached her, her attitude was rude, cold, and unwelcoming. As my friend and I were walking toward the equipment, my friend asked if I could take a tour of the gym, and she simply responded, "Okay," with no friendliness or customer service. Later, when my friend was trying to help me get a 30-day pass, she asked how I had gotten inside. Keep in mind, there was no one at the front desk when we entered, so there wasn't even an opportunity to check in. Throughout the entire interaction, her attitude remained snobby and dismissive, and there was absolutely no reason for it. What really stood out was watching her interact with men who walked into the gym afterward. Her demeanor completely changed--she smiled, greeted them warmly, and spoke to them in a much friendlier tone. It was obvious that the level of customer service she gave them was very different from how she treated me. She also had me waiting on the couch even though the manager wasn't helping anyone at the time. My friend and I asked the manager about her behavior, and he agreed there was no reason for it and said he would speak with her. No guest should be made to feel unwelcome the moment they walk through the door. A receptionist sets the tone for the entire gym experience, and everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect, professionalism, and courtesy.
