I paid cash for a year membership. When I came after work it was so busy I cant get on the limited machines I can use. I have had 14 knee operations and a torn right hip labrum. I can only use a few machines in my current health status. I asked to cancel my membership but was told because I paid cash for a year it was final. If I would have paid monthly I could have cancelled with no problem. I felt intimidated by younger members waiting for me to get off the machines. This is not a friendly place to work out as a disabled senior citizen. I was only 2 weeks into my membership. I will never get another membership at Fitness 19.​ read more

All the extra space makes the gym feel less crowded, and they also have all the machines and equipment that I need for my workouts. Chris at the front desk is always super helpful, especially when I annoy him with all my questions. Lol The addition to the Vault (the gym inside the gym) is the cherry on top at this gym. This gym is one of the closer gyms to my house and I love how it just opened up a special room called the vault. It's the room where it's less crowded and cool machines. The gym does get pretty busy during prime time but I usually don't have a long wait when waiting for the machine I want. read more

Fixing my review after realizing I was lied to for years. I have came here for years and they told me in order to ever cancel my membership I would have to pay $50 to get out of my contract, it's not true all you have to do is go online to the fitness 19 website then ask for your contract number and it's very easy to cancel. Instead of paying $50 I am only paying the last monthly payment which is significantly less. I feel like they were trapping me so I finally just found a Reddit post that actually helped me cancel without any hassle and no crazy cancellation fee. read more

Joined fitness 19 due to their classes. I was attending the Body works and Zumba class. These classes were full and provided such a wonderful space to so many people/women/moms. Fitness 19 is ending their class this month. So horrible that a gym is ignoring the needs of their community. Staff sent me videos but never went back to verify the facts from the beginning, and once it was clear I didn't steal anything, nobody apologized or took accountability. The next day I came in, the front desk tried to make me feel guilty and blamed me for them "getting in trouble." Completely unprofessional. the best local gym I've been to by far, they have the friendliest staff and the gym & equipment are always clean and in order. I signed up a few months ago because they had a good array of machines, but most importantly, yoga classes in the same membership. Welp. They remodeled the yoga studio into a premium private paid-access mini gym and no longer hold classes. I got suckered into a two year agreement only to be bait and switched. Fitness 19 is currently undergoing a revamp to upgrade their studio group room with high-end equipment, turning it into a VIP space. But, they've removed the lighter dumbbells ranging from 1 to 4 pounds, which I personally used for lateral raises to gradually build endurance and strength, especially good for rehab. Now, I have to figure out what I can use for lateral exercises. I like to incorporate a variety of equipment, from cables to free weights, and it really sucks that they removed those lighter dumbbells. I'm not keen on relying on machines for these exercises. They could have temporarily relocated lighter dumbbells to other areas in the gym without removing them entirely. read more

This location is clean. The staff is chill and nice. The bathrooms are also clean and stocked (unlock Gold's Gym in Claremont). Make sure you acclimate yourself with the gym hours! I came down one time about 15 minutes before closing and thought I had over an hour to go, but I was so focused that I didn't realize everyone had cleared out and the music stopped. It seems like a lot of the patrons here are really respectful with each other, the machines and keeping the place tidy. If you're hear to do cardio, cool. If you're shooting for HIIT, that's awesome. If you just want to lift, have at it! If you have Kaiser, Aetna, or any PPO, look into the Active and Fit Direct membership. It's offered for a monthly fee at a substantial savings, but you can join as many gyms as you want in this program as long as they participate in it. Most gyms only allow use of the equipment, and GX workouts would require an upgrade in the membership, and I believe Active Fit and Direct have two tiers. I just have the basic one to allow me to work out at the spot. I'm really glad that this Fitness 19 is local, and it's one of the best spots in the area. Hours aren't as much as 24 Hour, but there's definitely time to get the workouts in. read more

Been a member for a long time one of the only gyms I can actually find all the dumbbells where they're supposed to be the club manager Elijah keeps the club pretty clean. Assistant manager Dylan always happy to help. Front desk sells associate Chris always welcoming the guest when they come in. This message is directly for the district manager Jose V. whom I was told by Dillon does not take complaints or speak with customers. In trying to cancel my membership for a few months, I called the gym today to finalize cancellation and had gone in prior to do so. I explained my situation once more and Dillon can on them phone beyond hostile explaining that he told me how and when to cancel when I had come in a couple of months prior. He stated that I did hear what he said yet I am still trying to get one over on the gym. I have been complying with the gym regulations for the 12 months I have committed to although I think it is very unfair since the only reason why myself and many attendees this gym and location was for the classes. I understand West Covina has classes but that schedule and location is not at all convenient and very out of the way, tripling my commute back and forth. I stated to Dillon that I didn't appreciate the attitude and hostility he was voicing to me on the phone as a customer and he stated "well you're not a customer anymore so there's no problem there". This was beyond rude and very unnecessary. I then asked to speak with the manager above him which he claimed there was no one and then noted there is a district manager but he does not take any customer complaints and does not speak with clients. I then see that there is a district manager and he does communicate with current and past customers. I noted that I would be leaving a yelp review and he stated "I can take that post down within one business day and anyway, a negative review won't impact him since he has several positive ones". The individual that I spoke to before him was Chris and he was very polite and directed me to Dillon who was then extremely rude from the start of our conversation. I did not deserve that and neither does any paying customer. I sincerely did not remember all of the terms of the contract and cancellation and have tried several times to cancel and the cancellation process is not made easy. Dillon was condescending, extremely hostile, and rude. I have paid on time for 12 months and when I ask for assistance to cancel and get reimbursed for the 13month since I should have cancelled with a 30 day notice online but didn't due to circumstances beyond my client tell. Even if to him he told me multiple times, it is still not the way to conduct business. He would have not treated me this way if I wanted to continue my membership. Please take this review into consideration and make it know to all of your managers and staff that this is no way to speak to a customer or to a person in general. He noted that I was entitled to my option, on stating that I thought he was rude and he stated "i am just a direct person and I am telling you how it is." Again not the way a "manager" speaks to a customer. read more

I like the staff in this place and I go here because of them. A couple of things I should mention why I am hesitant in recommending are the bathrooms and maintenance of equipments. Some machines do not work, especially a few treadmills and arm machines where leathers seats are torn. I wish the bathrooms, especially the sinks are so outdated and do not look clean. I wish this facility is better maintained like the Fitness 19 in West Covina. read more

Been coming to this gym for a few years now. They recently added a new area called the vault which you can access with an upgraded membership. My boyfriend wanted to try it out before deciding whether to upgrade or not.
