I've had memberships at Fitness 19, Planet Fitness, King's Gym, LA Fitness, 24 hour and Fit Gym in the past--and Paradise Gym is by far my favorite. Paradise truly has the best machines, and even when it's busy, you can always get your full workout in because there's such a great variety and volume of quality equipment. That alone sets them apart. The environment is friendly, fun, and upbeat, which makes it a place you actually look forward to going to. What I also love is that there's access to trainers for both beginners and more advanced lifters, so no matter where you're at in your fitness journey, you'll feel comfortable and supported here. The owner, Elsa, is incredibly accommodating and clearly takes pride in her business. It's obvious she invests both time and money into making this gym stand out. The layout is well thought out and flows in a way that just makes sense--you can tell a lot of planning went into it. The gym is very well equipped with all the extras you might need to do any workout. She also has more upcoming renovations planned which shows she's committed to keeping the gym fresh and continually improving. I'm excited to see what Elsa has in store. This is one of those facilities that looks super cool on Instagram but falls flat on its face in person. Machines and equipment look cool but then the dirtiness and lack of buttoning up items against the walls and electrical conduit make it seem dirty and unfinished. It's like a person who paints a room with a roller but doesn't edge. And then there are the trainers. Don't try to give somebody friendly advice because you've been lifting for 30yrs because they'll get mad at you for talking to other people that you didn't come with. They want those people to pay them for advice and some of them don't deserve it when you overhear them talking to their clients. I won't talk about the bathrooms. I wanted to love this gym but I couldn't. Although there were some Pros of being open 24hrs, private access w/ bluetooth, and newer equipment, a couple of things just didn't work for me. First main issue is i've been suffering with a medical issue. Been to ER 3 times since November and had weightloss of 20lbs in just 2 1/2 months due to malnutrition caused from my diagnosis. I have been waiting for surgery, therefore since November, I have not been able to workout due to constantly feeling weak and only able to eat about 250-900 calories a day. That was just depending on how I felt daily with any pain or nausea. I reached out and said I can provide all my paperwork including imaging, blood work and diagnosis and they told me 1. It would still be based on their discretion and 2. I would need a Doctor's note saying I can't work out at all. I let them know TECHNICALLY I am "able" to workout but it's based on MY daily feelings with pain and nausea. I clearly hadn't gone in 3 months and STILL have not gone due to waiting for surgery. I never received a response to somehow work with me or find a solution so I felt a little bothered. I also feel that if a gym owner is NOT a medical doctor, someone's health shouldn't be on their discretion. I know bigger gyms allow to freeze an account for a lower price, or pay another initiation fee to cancel etc. But they had 0 options for me. Second thing, the gym was always dirty. Super thick dust on and around equipment, women's bathroom with pads and tampons on the floor or clogged toilets, and trash bins in women's restrooms overflowing. It was just gross. I know someone at night would come and sweep and mop but it's a lot of work for just one person. I think they should have a bigger cleaning crew. It was nice to try this gym but after my year commitment is over, I will definitely be cancelling. I was trying to love it but when it came to my health and no help was given, I just don't feel comfortable keeping the pass. read more

I have been coming here for nearly about a year already and honestly I rather make a further drive to this gym than my local gym. The benefits are having a 24 hr gym and the most updated machines in the industry. The recently for a few new workout machines for almost every muscle you can think of. Most days or nights I go it's always usually empty which is great. No waiting long lines for a machine to open up. The environment is great and upbeat, they always have great music playing in there as well incase your forget your headphones. Lighting inside there is insanely good and they also have a posing room which is amazing and usually don't see these in your regular commercial gyms. I was a member at Paradise Gym for about a month and really wanted to like it. I genuinely appreciate the idea of a smaller, more private gym environment that's actually what drew me in. I prefer that kind of setting over large commercial gyms, and I liked the potential it had. Unfortunately, during my time there the facility was dealing with some electrical issues. That didn't bother me much things happen, especially with small businesses but there were other areas that felt harder to overlook. Cleanliness and upkeep were inconsistent. The gym floor often felt dirty, and the bathroom had a noticeable odor. More importantly, there didn't seem to be a culture of responsibility around the equipment. Weights were frequently left unracked, and even trainers weren't setting the example. In my opinion, trainers should lead by example and help create standards that members follow. When they don't rack weights, it sends the message that it's optional. There were also a few occasions where kids were running around the gym floor, which felt unsafe given the equipment and lifting happening nearby. I kept hearing that this was a "family style" gym, but that sense of community and shared respect for the space just wasn't reflected in what I experienced. I've been part of family-owned gyms before that were clean, organized, and had strong member etiquette so I know it's possible. Running a small gym isn't easy, and I respect any owner putting in the effort. I just think more attention to cleanliness, structure, and leadership standards would make a big difference here. With better organization and accountability, this place could really match the private, hardcore gym vibe it aims for. Wishing them the best moving forward. read more

What attracted me to this gym was the small local atmosphere and the special equipment you won't find at other larger commercial gyms. I wanted to try this gym out and gave it a couple months so I opted for the month to month contract 49.99 a month (pretty pricey compared to other gyms around the area). In short stay away from this gym as the cons heavily outweigh the pros. See below: 1.Unfair contract clauses 2. F in cleanliness in the bathroom, weight area, machines, mobility area, squat racks, and benches (Its GROSS everywhere). 3. F in Mainteance with certain machines constantly down and repaired with Mickey mouse tactics. 4. F in accountability of personal trainers. They leave weights/benches/food containers everywhere. They take up multiple machines with multiple trainees. ( if they're working out legs good luck with getting on any of those leg equipment machines ) 5. F in customer service since there is no one at the front desk and no way to tell any employee what's wrong. 6. F in restrooms since they are half renovated and the hot water doesn't work. Also did I mention they are always out of soap, paper towels, and sanitizer towels. 7. Their AC is inconsistent reaching 80 degrees in the summer (See picture for proof). 8. Since their ac isn't the best they will leave their doors open and bugs will get it and crawl around you when you're trying to get a work out in. Read their contract because you will inevitably cancel due to the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, or accountability. You will have to pay an extra month for "notice" This gym isn't cheap either and an extra 50 dollars siphoned out of your account because "Our contract says that" is not fair for the customer at all when you don't hold up your end of the contract which is to supply customers with a decent and reasonable experience. read more

I've been coming to Paradise Gym since it opened. It had humble beginnings and has had a few setbacks here and there, like the recent lighting issue. My understanding though is that issue was the fault of SoCal Edison. I give Paradise Gym 5 stars because I see improvements happening all the time. In the beginning, they had 1 machine of each type. Now they have 2 or 3 machines of most types to help more folks get their work in without waiting for a machine to open. I've seen them go through different cleaner services to see which ones provide the best and most consistent results (I think this latest one is a winner). And they replaced the urinals in the men's restroom that were there from the previous gym at this location. The owner cares about her business and her patrons, that much has always been clear from the beginning. With the continued investment into the place and attention to the customer's feedback, I think the improvements are gonna keep coming. read more

I've held off on writing this review because I try to be understanding. Electrical issues? Fine, I get it, shit happens. But the ongoing issues here are unacceptable. The restrooms are consistently disgusting. Showers, toilets, floors, all of it. The overall cleanliness of the gym is poor: hair on the floors, visible dust, and no noticeable cleaning presence despite management claiming otherwise. What finally pushed me to write this was today's temperature conditions. It was hot!! The AC barely works. With a packed room full of people working out, it felt like mid-80s. The air was stuffy with very limited airflow. Fans are scattered around (some not even functioning), doors are propped open, and the AC seems to be blowing room-temperature air. If it's like this now, summer is going to be brutal. This isn't just uncomfortable, it's a safety concern. In those conditions, someone could easily overheat or pass out. I had to cut my workout short and leave. The gym has a lot of potential. Management needs to address this immediately. I'll be leaving the gym this month and won't recommend under these conditions. read more

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. They recently raised prices and are now charging "maintenance fees" that were never disclosed when I signed up. Adding hidden fees after the fact is completely unacceptable. What's worse is the condition of the gym doesn't justify the price increase at all. The place is consistently dirty, equipment is left scattered everywhere, and there's almost always something broken. It's clear that basic upkeep is not a priority here. The restrooms are honestly the worst part they're poorly maintained, unclean, and reflect a serious lack of management and accountability. If you're going to charge members more for "maintenance," then actually maintain the facility. Right now, it feels like members are paying more for a lower-quality experience. Save your money and go somewhere that respects its members. FYI the only reason I got this gym was because I was referred by a girlfriend and it's 24 hours which is kind of convenient but the lack of cleaning this is quite disgusting! I have been coming here and training with Adam for the last several months. I have been challenged by his workouts and I have seen results. He's a tough love type of guy who really wants you to thrive and tells it like it is. Which I really appreciate a lot. I have thoroughly enjoyed how this gym provides different machines that are not always accessible in commercialized gyms such as LA fitness. It's a small gym that has what you need. I like how clean this gym is as well. Though it's small, it's still spacious enough to be able to walk on the floor. Cardio machines are limited so sometimes there could be a wait to go on the machines. Usually when that happens, I utilize the extended back area to stretch and warm up. read more

I feel like I need to update my review about Paradise as I feel the recent electrical issues (that was outside of the owner of the gym's control...though she worked diligently with Edison, the landlord, and the city to fix as quick as possible) has received a little more hate than it needed to. I've actively been a member of this gym and have seen Elsa as my trainer for over a year. This gym has an amazing community of trainers with a great atmosphere. Even given the recent situation with the electrical issues, it was handled as quickly as possible and reopened today. Owning a small business has its challenges and some people can be more forgiving than others. The owner of Paradise cares about all her members and employees, and I know she'll do her best to accommodate the challenges (the now past issue) the electrical issues presented. I still stand firm that Paradise has something special that other personal gyms lack. It was just a bump in the road (which can happen when owning a business)...now on to bigger and better things! As a paying member, I've essentially lost three weeks of access.There has been NO reimbursement, no credit, and no effort from the OWNER to compensate her members for the inconvenience--no refunds, no free services, nothing. If members are paying monthly fees but can't use the gym, the owner should take responsibility and offer some form of compensation, whether that's a refund, a credit, or another gesture of goodwill.She should be embarrassed how poorly this is handled. But no... just posts a fake apology on her insta. I expected much better professionalism and communication. read more

I don't leave negative reviews lightly, but the conditions, lack of communication, and repeated safety concerns at this facility made it necessary to speak up. What I experienced went far beyond minor inconveniences and raised serious questions about professionalism, accountability, and member safety. What ultimately raised serious concerns was when the gym's power was shut off. One of the trainers told me there had been "foul play" involved with the electricity which lead to it being shut off, which makes a lot of sense given the current situation. I can't personally verify the details, but hearing that directly from staff was alarming and completely undermined my trust in the business. Whether true or not, the fact that employees are telling members things like this reflects a deeply unprofessional and unstable operation. And since they owner hasn't given a reason why the power was shut off it left for us members and staff to speculate what really happen. While the electricity was out, members were not reimbursed for their monthly payments and were not properly notified. The only communication came later in the form of a half-hearted statement posted on the owner's Instagram, which felt dismissive given the seriousness of the situation. There was no direct outreach or meaningful accountability. Even after that, the gym continued operating in conditions that felt unsafe. When I went in, the space was so dimly lit that I left immediately because I did not feel secure being there. There were exposed wires throughout the facility and visible leaks in the ceiling, conditions that could easily create serious safety hazards. These issues were brought to the owner's attention multiple times, yet the responses were consistently vague, along the lines of "things will be fixed," with no visible follow-through or any clear reason why the power was shut off in the first place! Even if the power is restored, I don't plan on returning. The owner has already shown that she prioritizes social media presence over the safety and well-being of both members and trainers. Given the combination of power issues, lack of communication, unsafe conditions, and repeated inaction, I'm genuinely surprised the city has allowed this gym to continue operating under these circumstances. I've been going here for about 6 months. It was great for most of that time, open 24/7, great machines and atmosphere. Recently It has been a bit neglected. Lights haven't been working for weeks now. Worst of all the hours have been cut aggressively and spontaneously. I tried to go Christmas Eve, closed. New Years Eve, also closed. The hours are only posted on Instagram 24 hrs in advance. Worst part is that I work long hours in finance from 8am-7pm so during the new modified regular hours I haven't been able to go consistently for weeks now. This honestly wouldn't bother me as much if I didn't have to sign a 1 year commitment for a gym that is no longer recognizable from the one I joined 6 months ago. Just cancelled my membership due to receiving an email from Elsa that effective 3/01/2026 they would be charging an additional $49.99 operational fee to every member. This comes after the electrical issues the gym had for weeks. I did not share my concerns about the lost days due because I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I realize how hard it is to run a small business. Not once did Elsa address the issue with members via email. However, this additional fee was the last straw. This additional fee represents that there is zero integrity and it is all about money. I paid for the year in full and nowhere in my contract does it state the gym can charge any additional fees. The membership fee should cover the cost of upkeep and maintenance of the gym but apparently Elsa thinks otherwise. Her response when I stated this was a breach of contract was that it is industry standard for private gyms and that if I did not find it acceptable she would terminate my membership and refund the unused months. It seems odd to me that this is the hill she wants to die on. Now she loses a paying customer who will never join the gym again because she felt entitled to break the membership contract. It will be interesting to see how this impacts the gym going forward. I am sure I am not the only one that is upset about this additional charge. Hopefully this will be a learning experience for Elsa of how not to handle a situation. I would suspect she will learn a very hard lesson. My guess is that it will result in a lawsuit. read more

This gym has almost everything you need, and the cleaning has improved, but the maintenance is still lacking. Wipes are often empty, the plate-loaded trees rarely have plates, and you end up searching around for basic equipment. Does anyone even work there? The gym would benefit from consistent weekly cleaning. cardio machines, especially the treadmills, are visibly dirty from bottom up. Also, why are trainers eating on the gym floor?. People come to work out, not to see others eating meals or smell the food as they work out. Very unsanitary Great potential, but the upkeep needs real improvement. read more

Updating from previous review : gym is back in working order, prices went up though. Only consistent complaint is that certain trainers ( not all ) will leave equipment all over the gym or just decide, "Hey let's do bicep curls on the lat pulldown", or "Let's superset 3 machines" or "Let's do rdls wherever we want!". There are designated spaces for certain lifts people Other than that gym is great, just some accountability would be nice . This gym is a WHOLE VIBE!! I currently manage a commercial gym, so I'm very particular about the ambience and atmosphere of most facilities that open up near me. I'm going to base my review on three different variables: ambience, equipment, and culture. Ambience: Right when you walk into the gym, you're greeted with a modern and minimalist black interior. This makes the gym feel high end, well also maintaining the bodybuilding feel that's trending nowadays. The front desk really gives the gym an at home feel, with lemon water readily available to all the members. Equipment: The equipment is one of those things that really peaked my attention before checking out this location. I'd been searching for a standing lateral raise machine and a pendulum squat, and this place did not disappoint! They had all that, and more. Culture: Equipment and ambience are the things that bring in members, but culture is what keeps them coming. I was immediately greeted by the owner, Elsa, who went out of her way to give me a tour and introduced me to some of the trainers. I joined this Gym because it's close to my house and I frequent the the area a lot and it's apart of my prime fitness membership. Unfortunately they revoked my membership saying that another Member named Sky Filed a restraining order on me and claims I have been stalking her. I've never been in this kind of situation before and don't know what her problem is. And what is more appealing is that the owner Elsa is taking her side instead of being fair and saying that she's seen me in the parking lot for long periods of time as if I'm waiting for Sky as if I know when she's going to be there.I am currently in court and will be fighting and taking acion for defamation of Character.
