After dealing with the lady who's name I will not mention (hint -she had a Hispanic accent) who answered the phone today who also does NOT fit the description of Arrowhead orthopedics "Mission". she was rude and the furthest thing from what this companies mission strives to be. After one physical visit and two calls she lacked all listed below. Credible: Being credible means that patients and others we interface with can count on our honesty and integrity. This may involve us saying at times "I don't know the answer to this question, but I will find the right answer and get back to you," and actually doing so in a timely manner. After requesting a refill of a non narcotic medication today she rudely expressed in a very "oh well" manner that my original doctor is no longer there, it's not an option nor is she even willing to ask for a refill while I wait for my soonest appointment of (3-4weeks out) and hung up on me. This is the second time she projected misery rather in life or just her job. This unfair treatment and personally tested all that I stand for in life. It took every bone in my body to not call back and give her back what she gave me( attitude, misery,disrespect and lack of empathy). I liked this clinic at first but I'd rather suffer. Especially since empathy, compassion and compromise is NOT on the agenda. I'll advise my Primary and Insurance of my concerns in the attempt for find a location with quality people. I will never come back to this location Ever!!! Arrives about 140pm (150pm appointment) but everything I saw said my appointment was at 2:00. When booked gal told me 1:50pm 230 called to back room 245pm did X-ray 331pm I opened our room door 340pm a lady pocked her head in and said one more ahead of you and shut the door, I re-OPENED the door... At this time family in waiting room texted me to said person who was called right before us has left.. funny because I heard doctor in room on one side and then heard skipped our room and went to other side.... 3:49pm doctors finally come into our room... Looks at my sons injury, agreed it looked bad. Looks at their new X-rays (which my son said they didn't do same as other doctor who found a fracture chip) looked for seconds and said Not broken and threw his splint in trash and made a comment about "Some people just can't read x-rays" and pretty much walked out.. WTH... So my question is what did the other doctor see and why didn't this doctor look at the other xrays. I was handed a paper to go to front. I did inform doctor I need a note and he said "give her a note" when go to front they gave me a hard time and called and doctor, he again said "Give her the note she needs". after waiting about 5 mins they hand me note.. I get all the way down stairs and realize THEY DIDNT DO WHAT I ASKED and so I headed back up. this time I got a different person and now she had to call everyone to confirm I could have note, person who answered told her "GIVE HER THE NOTE".. Finally walked out about at 410pm... I called and made an appointment with another doctor tomorrow, someone who actually has time to talk to us... I'm not happy at just the overall treatment.. Plus they charged me a $200 co-pay for that crap... NO BED SIDE MANNERS at all... thank but no thanks.. I'll get a 3rd Opinion. Update: I called the radiologist that said ""Chip fracture off the proximal ventral surface of a distal phalanx at the pip joint of the index finger" and he showed us the x-ray showing fracture.. Dr. Gail Hopkins and his office are the absolute worse in this business. We walked in and he had no clue why we were there. He was in a rush and did not bother looking at patients chart. He made a recommendation for treatment that was already previously given to the patient. On top of that it took nearly 3 mo the yo send a referral out to a pain management facility. It took countless call. Oh and Vanessa his MA....never ever answered the phone or returned calls. This is absolutely a terrible way to treat patients. No idea how he is still in practicing. If you have a choice, go somewhere else. I had to come here because of worker's comp. Had to have surgery. Had to come on a monthly basis. At first, Dr. Caputo was caring, but towards the end, it got bad, no sense of bedside manners. Very condescending, telling me I was imagining my pain. And so on. Never have I had such bad experience with a healthcare provider. During one of my surgeries, I was able to feel pain while he was operating. I don't mind to change to different location or dates. But her answer was " sorry man. I have no other appointment for you." I apologized for my reschedule and explained to her why I had to. This is the 2nd time I've had a TERRIBLE experience. The first time I took my daughter in to the ortho only to go over an X-Ray. We literally waited for almost 3 and a half hours. My 11 year old was starving as it was now after lunch. No one communicated or even cared. The doctor was good that day. He recommended we get an mri. We get the MRI June 19, 2021... It's Aug 13 and we have YET to hear back from Arrowhead Orthopedic. We never received the MRI results in the Mail. NOTHING. I called today only to have another employee (I won't be that petty and post her name) be extremely rude to me. She told me it was my job to call them after we got the MRI. I told her that it wasn't, that our information should have been posted to my daughters medical records and sent to the doctor and also to us. She proceeded to get more attitude and scold me I was wrong. I then got upset. I even told her that I recently had an MRI with another orthopedic medical group and I received my information via mail and also email. I ended up begging to have her put me through to her supervisors voice message because she initially didn't want to. Of course, there was "no supervisor in today". I know companies read these reviews. I hope you do the right thing and correct this and also train your customer service reps how to speak to clients on the phone. I have tried to call their office now three times and all three times I have been hung up on ‍Then I have to go through the whole system again to try and get to somebody only for them to hang up on me right away, for what, I have no idea why? Rude, rude, rude.... The girls at the front desk are so rude. They don't even look up to make eye contact. No one should have to wait three hours for a preop appointment. And entire surgery can be completed in three hours that was a joke. If I was late to an appointment, they would cancel my appointment. But we can sit here all day and nobody seems to care. So what I get from this is our time isn't valuable , only there time matters. Isn't medicine great these days. I know that I am not alone in this. And I understand that sometimes, just sometimes things happen. And that they run behind. But not every single time my husband or I have an appointment. Now there are some people that work really hard at Arrowhead Orthopedics and try to make things happen for you especially in Redlands. But I will never say that about these rude girls in Riverside. They refused to provide an interpreter and asked me to bring a family member to interpret for me. Oh my gosh. They're living in ancient times. Requested my primary doctor to arrange an interpreter. They're so clueless about ADA laws. So I contacted my primary doctor to arrange one. I showed up and said there is no an interpreter. I had to wait 1 1/2 months and drove a long way to see the ortho. He refused to see me without an interpreter. I said we could communicate via Video Relay Interpreting using a computer with an interpreter, writing or Siri. He refused to do so and asked to reschedule. No way am I rescheduling with him. He was very unwilling to work with me. Think I'd want to reschedule. They are violating ADA laws by refusing to arrange for an interpreter. read more

My son had an appointment at 10:00 sat and waited 30 mins to find out there was still 5 patients ahead of us and they couldn't give an an estimated time we'd be seen. As a single mom that can't afford to miss work I find it very unprofessional on there part not to touch bases with patients and inform them of the wait time. Mind you they had an overly packed waiting room with patients waiting outside their office as well. Wednesday was one of the worse days I've had in a long time, and I am in tears as I am writing this. First and most foremost my family and I are Medically Exempt from wearing masks or face coverings. Due to under lining health conditions . We have doctors notes and never have had encountered an issue like this. According to the ADA American Disability Act, businesses are required to make accommodations for families such as mine. ADA says every establishment must make reasonable accomodations for those with disabilities. Let me just say I am not that person who is confrontational or nasty , I realize we are in the middle of a pandemic but I am also medically exempt. I always call ahead of time to let them know this . I called arrowhead orthopedics the day before my daughters appointment to learn their policies and see what kinds of accommodations they implement for those of us who can not wear masks or facial coverings. I spoke with the manager Valerie the next morning. Unfortunately I was told there are no exemptions or exclusions and everyone who goes in their office must have a mask on. I let her know our situation and asked if she was aware of the ADA act in place for families such as mine she said she was aware but it's their policy patients must have face coverings .In short, policy is not law. I also asked her if she had the civil codes that state their business will not accommodate Americans with disabilities. She stated she had them but did not right at that moment . ( I was never given them at our appointment ). It is a felony to pretend to enforce a fake law. After trying to inform the office manager Valarie of my medical history, which is illegal without my consent, My daughter and I were being forced to wear a face covering so my daughter's broken arm could get medical attention. Unfortunately we have an hmo insurance , so when my daughters primary did the initial referral and auth it was approved for this place. My daughter needed a cast put on right away , this is not something that could've waited for a new auth . I let Valerie know against my doctors advice I would suffer from doing this but will do it for my daughter so she could get the medical attention she needed... and I would be back with legal repercussions. Under the CDC guidelines it states we are exempt if a face covering obstructs our breathing. Valerie proceeded to tell me I had to absolutely wear one in order to get in the facility, and if we didn't want to wear one we could go somewhere else, they refused service to us if we did not comply . I am completely overwhelmed with anxiety and panic do to the trauma I've experienced dealing with this office and Valarie. I can not comprehend turning a way a patient who is medically exempt from wearing a mask that is in need of treatment . My daughter was in an emergency situation and in need of a cast, so against my better judgment against my doctors advice I was forced to put on a mask as well as my daughter to receive care at this facility . On top of the horrendous , embarrassing, harassment field day by this facility and it's office manager my daughters primary care doctor called me to tell me why did we refuse service at the orthopedic doctors office they referred us to. What in the world? We never ever refused , they refused us if we wouldn't comply to their policies . My daughter and I have been field with anxiety, panic , and a constant migraine since this incident occurred. I have since. I needed a drug test for a job and the stupid lab for some reason closes independently from the entire clinic. I went twice only to find out I can't get a drug test because the lab is closed and the stupid receptionist never specified a time for me to come in until I failed to get a test twice. I wanted to come in the next day because my test expires then but there not doing any testing that day. The receptionist is totally incompetent and this clinic is stupidly run. Physical therapy here is garbage, they are friendly but most of what i experienced here can he done at home, they also up charge for things like electric simulation (tens unit) and they wont tell you they just say things like "do you want ice" or "do you want us to do this" without speaking of the up charges. Yes, you are rarely taken on time. That doesn't bother me. Yes, it can take a long time to get an appointment. That doesn't bother me either. Granted, I'm not the one with the severe knee problem, that would be my husband, but he doesn't mind either of those either. You know why? The doctor we see, Dr. Faerbrer, is amazing. His exams are thorough, we enjoy his demeanor, and he cares about my husband getting better. You'd think that alone would be enough for more stars. Wrong. Why? Because the call bank you deal with to get anything booked is THE WORST I'VE EVER WITNESSED. They are the perfect example of office staff ruining a practice. This is about to get long winded, so if you just want the bottom line, here it is: the right hand NEVER knows what the left hand is doing. Ever. They have cancelled our appointments on several different occasions (usually just by saying "we cancelled your appt" or cancelling for the wrong reason). They even tried to cancel on us in person right when we arrived for the appt! The reason? "We don't have the paperwork the doctor needs." That after we told them during the confirmation call that we were bringing in physical copies, which we were told was okay, but there was no record of that call. The most recent one they cancelled because the person misread the reason for the appt. Instead of waiting to hear from us, she went ahead and cancelled the appt and gave it to someone else. This was on a Friday. When we called back on Monday to get the appt back, we were told there was no reason for it to have been cancelled and there were no notes on who cancelled it. We had looked past it before, but we needed this appt to figure out next steps with the insurance (who rejected a treatment Dr. Faerbrer recommended). My husband stated he wanted to file a complaint, and was told he'd hear back from the manager. The manager never called. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because it was entirely possible she was never told. So I called again after no response for a few business days and requested to speak with the manager. The person I spoke with said (I bet you can guess) there was no record of the previous calls. I was transferred to the manager, but I got her voicemail. I still haven't heard back either. ARGH! If you live in the 909/951, there's a very good chance they'll be you're only referral option if you need a referral. I suggest try to find another establishment. This was one of THE BEST doctor / health care interactions I have ever experienced ... and I am no kid. Bottom line, if you need an Orthapaedic Surgeon, this is THE place for you to come. If all you want to know is "Is this a good place?" read no further. It definitely is and I highly recommend them. For everyone else that may find some solace in enjoying another's pain, read on. I'm sorry, because if you are reading this, you probably are in pain and extremely concerned about getting better immediately. I understand. I was in your shoes 4 months ago. I fell off a ladder on Valentine's Day trimming a fruit tree. I didn't fall far, only about 4 feet high. But as I learned even relatively small falls can do a BIG amounts of damage. Death, as strange as it may seem, is not uncommon. I heard a "crack" as I landed on my left butt and right elbow. I had been referred to Dr. Bret Powers. Arrowhead Orthopaedics has on-site X-Ray capability and he immediately ruled out broken bones. But he said that other than having an MRI, only Physical Therapy could tell. They also have on-site PT (read that PAIN and TORTURE) but since I had a PT relationship I did not use theirs. 5 weeks of PT and I felt really good, but had no strength in my right arm as I would try to raise it on a 45 degree angle. Bicep curls weren't too bad. Direct outward arm strength was nil. But my PT said I "might" not need surgery. I went back to Dr. Powers. He checked me out again. And while he was encouraged by my range of motion, he said he was pretty sure the Rotator Cuff was damaged. But the only way to find out how bad was via that MRI. He doesn't automatically prescribe them because they are expensive and many times insurance companies do not reimburse their expense very well. Dr. Powers gave me the option. He advised me that if I was in my 80s, many decide not to get the surgery because of its expense and difficult and long recovery. But at my age (65) and activity level, he said it would be a good thing to have done IF the Rotator Cuff was torn. The MRI was $500 cash vs $1250 insurance. The MRI proved I tore it. If there is one thing I would recommend about this whole process it would be GET THE MRI DONE IMMEDIATELY. It will help you avoid weeks of pain if you need the surgery. Dr. Powers performed my surgery at their Redlands outpatient center. The people there were incredible. THANK THEM before you are put under as you won't see them again ... and they are so caring and good. Dr. Powers warned me that while the surgery was not that difficult, the recovery from a Rotator Cuff operation can be one of the most painful and elongated of any operation. I asked him if he was going to prescribe Vicodin. He said "no, you will need something a lot stronger than that: Percoset (oxycotin)". I woke up about 3 hours after the operation, still comfortable due to the pain block that had been administered. Later that day I took my first Percoset and another just before "going to bed" in an electric Lazy Boy Recliner. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING TO SLEEP IN A BED as you will be wearing an Industrial Strength Huge Arm Sling for the next 6 weeks. And you will essentially have no use of your bad arm for the next 2 weeks. (So practice doing all of the things you normally do with the arm that is being operated on ahead of time!) But I was off of ALL pain killers in ONE WEEK! After Dr. Powers removed my stitches (only 4), he prescribed some light PT followed by about 2 months of big time PT. PT is painful, but No Pain No Gain. You are going to have to work to get better. But that mid-nite to 3AM pain that is so typical of Rotator Cuff problems went away immediately. My range of motion is back to normal. My strength is improving daily. Essentially in 3 months I was back to normal. But anyone who has this surgery will be recovering for a full year. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news. It was AFTER I had the surgery that I really "got under the covers" of Dr. Powers' credentials. He was the starting quarterback at Arizona State for 2 years before being a quarterback at THE Ohio State University. His numbers were nothing short of NFL quality. What ended his football career? Two shoulder injuries and something he lovingly referred to as "Turf Toe". It became clear to me that as he operated on me he was trying to do my surgery better than those that had been done on him. He took extreme care to do it in such a fashion that my post-operation pain was essentially zero. And my recovery is something I can only describe as miraculous. I will forever be in admiration of him and the skills he brought to bear on me. And his team at Arrowhead? First rate. The ONLY criticism I have of Arrowhead Orthopaedics is that the wait time is long. But given the quality of health care I received I would wait 10 times as long to have them caring for me. I had surgery March 2022 I was supposed to get disability no one set me up with disability I thought it would be easy and I have still not gotten paid. I called this office a couple times to ask him to help me but they never called me back.I am 9 months postop and still haven't gotten disability. Lost my apartment because i was disabled. Was very disappointed in this system, but i trying to make the best out of my situation. Nobody from this office has been much help for me to work with Disability and get my money. I ended up moving and switching counties but I had another appointment still . IEHP said that my appointment would be fine here and I wouldn't have a problem. But when I come to my appointment at 1:40 to be seen at my 1:50 appointment it was not busy. they waited till 2:20 where 7 people came in just to announce to tell me that I am not enrolled in my insurance is not active. Then continued to loudly tell me that I could still be seen for $150. After i told her about my disability issue but i told her no one called to tell me ahead of time.She just said" yeah it shows a discontinued but no one called you and that's on our in our apologies" like what is an apology gonna do for me I need an apology with money. .I drive 2 hours wasted my gas and time which i can't get back.I booked and been waiting for it two months in advance and they didn't have a problem with the appointment when i made it. The insurance pays for the appointment ahead of time and never had a payment problem before but they just have horrible communication skills to their patients. Just be cautious and call ahead of time yourself because they won't tell you anything. I just wish someone would have told me this before I was recovering from this knee surgery. People don't really think when you can't use your both of your legs that it takes away your independence from life and it makes it kind of 10 times harder. I wanted to write this review because I had such a positive experience compared to all the bad reviews. There are many drs that work on this office so I am sure wait times vary per dr. I was scheduled to see dr. Jahng. My appt was at 8:10 am, I arrived at 8am. I was greeted by a nice receptionist and waited for about 15 minutes. I was taken back to a room and was attended to by an X-ray tech, medical assistant and ekg tech. All were friendly and professional and everything was done in a timely manner. I was given a prescription for my upcoming surgery and given thorough instructions on what to do including stat lab orders. Dr Jahng explained everything in an easy to understand manner. I requested wheelchair and temporary handicap placard and his staff immediately requested authorization through my insurance and said the dmv paperwork takes about 5 days for their office to complete. There office is really spacious and clean and even though I was there because of a broken ankle, the experience with this office was very positive. read more

I went to the chino hills one of these, and from my experience i would say DO NOT COME HERE. As many others have mentioned, doctors do not actually see the patient until 2 hours after the designated appointment. They are slow to do anything, and if for some reason there is any discrepancy, such as you need to wear shorts instead of jeans because your knee is being looked at, i can guarantee you wait AT LEAST another 45 minutes. (They gave me shorts but did not see me until much later) This is because they book appointments 10 minutes apart. There is also no way of calling this doctors office. Even just to call and make an appointment, you will be forced to wait on the phone for 2 hours. You also cannot speak with a direct person on the phone, or it is very difficult and tedious to, so if you have questions regarding your appointment--good luck. ***and the worst part: THE DOCTORS ONLY COME IN TWICE A MONTH. The doctors at this office switch between 3 different offices: Chino Hills, Rancho Cucamonga, and Ontario. I came to an appointment at 7:50am, even before opening hours, and i found out that the doctor had not received my MRI results and only my report so he would not see me. Today is the 15th, and they told me the doctor would not be in again until the 27th. This is always the case--you must wait 2 months for another appointment. At my last appointment, 2 weeks ago, I booked my next follow-up appointment and had to make it even later than it should be already since the doctor was not going to be in the whole month of February. I arrived at 140 as instructed for a 2pm appointment. It's now 3pm and I still have not been seen. I took 6 weeks just to get this appointment so I can not leave. This is by far the worst most unorganized office I have ever been to. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! I had a horrible experience by starters after my x-rays I waited for more than an hour for the doctor to come in to the room to see me , he was in there with me for five minutes he said that I was fine although my knees sound like their about to pop off, he completely disregarded how I felt and seemed like he was rushed and couldn't wait to get out of the room. The next thing was that they told me that my insurance covered everything before I even went there and at the end of my appointment as well. Today I got a bill from them saying I need to pay my visit. I called them to ask about the billing and then they say that they can't help me because the Doctor described me as a male and a he on his notes. EVEN THOUGH I uploaded my first time visit documentation saying I'm a female, and I gave them my drivers license with the documentations they want, and the day of the visit I gave them my drivers license as well where it CLEARLY states I'm a female and the doctor and receptionist clearly saw in person that I am a woman. Aside of being so dissatisfied with his services Now I have to go back in person to that office that I do not like so they can go ahead and correct my information because of "HIPPA" laws and then on top of that I still have to deal with the billing part. Horrible doctor that just couldn't wait to leave the room while he was attending me and quickly telling me that I was fine and to not worry, obviously I'm gonna go ahead and get a second opinion somewhere else. This place is not THAT bad. I was taken back about 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time which I feel is reasonable. The receptionists all appeared to be friendly as well as the medical staff in the back. I saw Dr Powers who was very attentive and listened to my story with genuine concern. The lady that scheduled my next appointment was friendly as well. There were complaints that they didn't have any Spanish-speaking staff. I observed several very fluent Spanish speaking staff but then again maybe one should do their part and just learn the language. read more

I keep on getting sent there by my insurance but if you have a choice go somewhere else. They never have appointments and if they do they have them 2 months from day you call or they cancel all the time staff like front desk or even office manager at riverside office are very nice but overall ZERO stars they should have a back up doctor if your doc can't see you not try rescheduled you another month away read more

The worst orthopedics location I have been to. Apt time was at 11 am came here just before 11 and it is 1241 pm while I'm writing this and still sitting here. I asked the front desk nurses they said all our rooms are full I asked what's the point of appointments iv been sitting here for 2 hours she had no answer. While I'm sitting another patient walks in and says I got a call my prescription is ready to be picked up the nurse was like there's nothing here have a seat. He has been sitting here for 20 mins now. Wow the worst. If you ever come here more then likely it will be a whole day thing. The worst place ever. read more

Normally we have had good experience here, but lately they have slacked off on timeliness. Last two visits (Jan & Feb '21); our wait was more than an hour, just to get an injection from a PA Our time is valuable too! read more

You know you are getting bad customer service when the office manager of the practice hangs up on you in the middle on a conversation. They said they didn't take my insurance and I was trying to explain them politely how the insurance is new , but they were rude and instead of hearing it out, just hung up the phone on ! That's just purely unprofessional. I should have read the reviews below even before calling this place. I agree with all of them 100%. read more

Holy cow. Worst customer service ever all the reviews are correct. Lady in the front desk. Rude, Racist, dry, lazy in my eyes had a problem and made an issue about printing out a copy of an iehp insurance card. Made us think the appointment couldn't happen with out one. Yet it wasn't as hard as she made it seem. Had an attitude because she had to get a copy printed, when they have access to it and we are still in 2017. P.S. 2 white patients just walked in a woman and a man. She gave the receptionist her name didn't show I'd or insurance card and she told her "you're all checked in and ready to go" Excuse me what?!? You made a huge deal over us not having it yet didn't even check id for the white couple! Must be nice. The translator they have for Spanish patients, Jesus Christ they need someone who KNOWS HOW TO SPEAK SPANISH!! I could overhear the translator speaking to the patient and all I could hear him say was "que" or "como" because she made no sense. She would read it out loud in English then start with "ummm" and chop it up horribly. If the man was applying for unemployment or disability I'm sure she messed that up for him. To assist a patient with translation is something only a fluent speaking translator should do. And they have better Spanish speakers in the back. People like this have no right to work to help patients. They don't care about them. read more

I have been here for carpel tunnel releases and physical therapy, I'm not understanding all the negative reviews? Sometimes the wait may be a little longer, but the care is excellent. The doctors are professional and friendly. I love Arrowhead and I do recommend them. Thank you for all of the amazing care, you are all amazing. read more

Now I know why it takes so long to be seen... they schedule each patient only 10 mins apart for the same doctor. That is why everyone averages 1 hour or more just to be seen... this place sucks!!! read more
