Came here for Father's Day and it wasn't too packed. I wish the service had been a little bit quicker, but all the food tasted really good. We ordered the cowboy ribeye and even though it came out perfect I was a little disappointed that majority of the weight was fat and bone come perfectly though if you're in the area, there are a lot of other places to choose from but if you're coming here with friends, it's not a bad spot to go for a steak dinner since the ambience is pretty mellow for a crowd, but loud enough where people don't get annoyed from your large party.

Food (5/5): The ribeye and scallops were definitely the star of the night. Scallops were cooked to perfection and the pancetta was a nice compliment. Their 28 Oz ribeye was super tender and flavorful and paired perfectly well with their lobster mash potatoes. I was surprisingly impressed because I'm rarely happy with steaks at steakhouses considering how easy it is to source high quality meat and cook it perfectly at home.. Porter house was solid - though it could be cooked more evenly. Edges were pushing well done while pieces close to bone were med rare. The rest were fine. Solid dishes, no complaints. Ambiance/Service (4/5): I mean.. not a huge deal but.. a guest on our table asked if we can have an order of 5 scallops instead of 4... in which the server said "no problem" but proceeded to bring us 2 orders of 4 and charged us for 2 orders. If it wasn't ok - just say so? What's up with agreeing and then ignoring the request. Also, another guest in our party asked if soft drinks (coke) was refillable. In which they answered "yes" and proceeded to charge full price for every meal. Maybe restaurant policy or some disconnect there but whatever. Other than that - staffs were nice and attentive. Beautiful dining area. Definitely perfect for an upscale night out. Overall (5/5): I would 100% come back. Their steak is better than most fancy steak houses out in LA/Beverly Hills for a fraction of the cost. 28 Oz ribeye would easily go for mid to high 100s at any other places out there.. Excited to try their sister restaurant next door (Parkway Grill) soon!

The staff is absolutely wonderful, we had a such a lovely experience. We attended dinner with some friends and our children. The restaurant was very accommodating for the kids and our kids love steak so this was easy! It's a darkly lit restaurant with candle light, very romantic. We ordered the Tuna Tar Tar and oysters to start. Salads we had the burrata and wedge, they were are all very good. For our mains we had Filet Mignon, Linz Heritage Cowboy Ribeye, caramelized corn, baked potato. I had a tequila sour, tangerine sour and gin sour. I would recommend the tangerine sour! Everything was delicious and would recommend!

Scallops Wrapped with Pancetta - very good

I came on a Sunday night with a dinner reservation and overall, I had a great time. Parking - valet, street or park at Wholefoods across the street The vibe is old school steakhouse, very spacious dining space. Staff are extremely attentive. Food is overall good. I recc the pancetta wrapped scallops, seabass, brussel sprouts, and grand manier soufflé. THE SOUFFLÉ IS SO GOOD. We ordered an angus ribeye medium rare but it didn't fit our preference. We prefer more sear usually. Still good. It ended up being $225 for 2 ppl w/o tip. We did not order drinks. The experience was overall positive.

Had a great meal here. If you're looking for a fancy steakhouse, definitely put Arroyo Chop House on the list. It's up there with Morton's and Ruth Chris for me. Inside is dark with an upscale feel. Great place for a nice date or special occasion. They also have bar seating if you want to eat solo. There's a tv over the bar to watch a game. The steaks are amazing! I got the angus ribeye, cooked perfectly medium rare with a nice sear. I also splurged on a lobster tail. Pricey but worth it. For my sides I got the scalloped potatoes and creamed spinach. Great sides. I think the half order of the creamed spinach was perfect. A whole order would be better for sharing. For dessert I got the angel food coffee crunch cake. It was just ok though. I liked the lightness of the cake, but coffee crunches weren't to my taste. I would have preferred something more like biscoff cookies. So I say you can skip that dessert. Service was fantastic. Friendly staff. Valet parking only. It was $8 so not too bad in my opinion.

Delicious dinner, calm, serene atmosphere, I felt right at home bc Zeth our waiter made us feel like home, he gave us his recommendations and he was just right on target. The bar tender recommended Lucha libre cocktail amd omg - one of the best drinks ever. My best two is 1 cowboy steak, - medium rare- with the perfect amount of salt- made my feet dance under the table- of course I was discreet- and same level - trio steak plate - one of them was a Japanese cut- it felt like a cloud that melted in my mouth. As always way better than the other steak houses.

Love it here. Always get amazing service and the drinks, steaks and the soufflé are to die for. The ambiance is chill Tonight they had the Dodger game on in the bar area. The Poire cocktail is my new fave. Thanks Brent.

Came in tonight for dinner with my family . The service was good. To start off we got the half sourdough half garlic bread, both were tasty. I ordered the ribeye medium rare . I enjoyed it and so did my daughter . My husband got a New York , it was cooked nicely but I do feel like it lacked flavor especially compared to my ribeye. As for the sides we got fries and Brussel sprouts. The fries were good of course but we weren't the biggest fans of the Brussels sprouts, they weren't tender and seemed undercooked in my opinion. They were a tad bit hard to even cut with a knife , I definitely prefer them to be soft on the inside and easy to bite.

So delicious

Had such an amazing experience here! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was perfect. The steak was cooked to perfection flavorful, tender, and honestly one of the best I've had. You can truly tell they care about quality and making sure guests have a great experience. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend

We came here for our wedding anniversary celebrating 21 years. The restaurant is a super nice steak house with bar and two big rooms for large parties or events. The staff is very nice and extremely helpful in helping you choose your best cut. The dress code is California flare. Some dress up and some come in casual. I had the Filet Mignon and my hubby had the ribeye. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly to our liking. Everything is ale cart. So we choose half order of green beans, mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes. It was a lot more food than we needed but perfect for leftovers. Since we were celebrating our Anniversary, they had a very nice card for us on arrival.

I've been coming here for years This place dosent change it's amazing. Service is always superb. The food, the steaks and lobsters! It's cooked perfectly, sides are good but I come for steak. Never have been disappointed with anything here.

Hands down one of the best steak houses to grab dinner at. Came here with my friends and we had the epitome of a girls night. The staff is incredible and super attentive. The drinks are perfect each time. But most importantly the food is not only perfectly cooked, but absolutely delicious. Starting off with freshly hot sourdough bread. My oh my is it incredible with some butter. I opted for a whiskey based drink this time. Jameson, ginger ale, and some fresh lime juice squeezed in. Definitely paired perfectly with my chopped salad and petit mignon. All the ingredients were fresh on my salad and the steak was like butter when cutting into it with great flavor and texture. To end the meal, I opted for a chocolate soufflé that was just the chefs kiss. Overall, it was a perfect night. Thank you Arroyo Chop house for such incredible service and food! Definitely will be back for another girls dinner!

Porterhouse for two

I can't believe I've never been here before! But we were in need of a celebration so I made a reservation and they accommodated our party with children requiring a high chair and a booster seat. Think old school steakhouse with seafood options as well and shareable sides. We shared the porterhouse for two which was huge and delicious. Our server, Julia, took very good care of us and made amazing recommendations from appetizer, entrees, to dessert. Valet parking only (unless you get lucky and find street parking) and valet takes several methods of payment. Overall, great experience.

Can children eat here?

There is no kid's menu and it is strictly an upscale dining experience. However children can eat there so it's important to look at the menu before going.

Does anyone know if the Steak is sourced from Creekstone?

Hi! I grew up in the area and now live up North! Will be in town soon. Do you still have outdoor seating?

Yes they do. And so does The Parkway Grill next door.

Never heard of 8+ Japanese wagyu. How does it compare to A5?

Hi Mark, 8+ is the highest grade of domestic wagyu (raised here in the U.S. while a5 is meat imported from Japan.

Will you continue outdoor dining through May 2022?

Yes we plan to continue indefinitely!

Do they still serve salmon?

We have salmon as a seafood special most nights!

Is this restaurant a la carte?

Yes

Is the Lamb Chop still available on the menu?

Yes it is. They run out occasionally because it is popular.

Have they brought their steak tartare back? I sure wish they would!

Is there parking on site?

Yes. Valet is complimentary.

I just tried calling to book a reservation since outdoor dining is opening back up and they told me you weren't taking reservations yet, however, one other person asked and you replied that you were. How can I make a reservation?

We just started taking reservations today! You may call the restaurant or book online at www.arroyochophouse.com/reservations… Read more

Is outdoor seating currently available?

Yes, it is!! You can call and reserve if you would like.

What's the green jello sauce called for the lamb chops?

The sauce is a mint jelly, thank you for asking!

Do they have a corkage fee?

Hello! Sorry I did not see any info in their alcohol menu.

What is in the seafood platter dish?

Yes!

Are pets allowed on the patio?

Sorry no pets allowed on the patio.

Has anyone tried the chop house burger? If you have, how is it?

Is it not good to have dinner with kids here? But I have to! @_@

i think i've seen people with kids....not sure your kids ages. when we went we took our daughter to kids klub while we ate. happy to tell you about kids klub weekend care - you can PM me.

Is there a kids' menu?

Fairly confident there isn't.

Is there a cake cutting fee if we cut the cake ourselves?

Yes you will still be charged a "cakeage" for bringing your own cake instead of ordering from their menu. It's a standard practice. But if you have a huge bill for the meal you and your group are paying then maybe you can talk to the manager and… Read more

I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

We were looking forward to a fun evening and decided to participate in the trivia game being hosted that night. After receiving an answer sheet from the host, Matt, my wife and I began playing. The trivia topic was based on an older television show that we were unfamiliar with, and we initially used our phones to look up answers. A male individual approached us and informed us that using our phones was considered cheating. We accepted that explanation, stopped using our phones, and continued playing. Later in the evening, I observed bartender Justin speaking with the same individual and appearing to provide him with answers. When I questioned how that was different from what we had been told not to do, Justin stated that it was not cheating because they were part of a group. I responded that it was only a game and not a serious issue, especially considering my wife and I had only accumulated a few points. At that point, the interaction became uncomfortable. Justin informed the host that my wife and I should be disqualified for cheating, despite the fact that we had stopped using our phones when instructed. The employee who had originally confronted us also became increasingly confrontational, which my wife and I found intimidating. I later asked another bartender, Zach, what the concern was, and he explained that the winning prize was $50. While I understand the importance of maintaining fair rules, the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we appeared to be the only minority guests present at the time, and we observed other patrons using their phones without being confronted. This left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. My wife attempted to discuss how the situation made us feel with a female bartender who had blue hair. Unfortunately, her reaction appeared dismissive, and our concerns did not seem to be taken seriously. As we prepared to leave, the employee who had initially confronted us remained nearby staring in our direction, which further contributed to our discomfort. For reference, we were seated at the right corner of the bar if you were facing the bar from the front. I am not seeking compensation. Rather, I hope management will review the events of that evening, including any available security footage and discussions with staff members present. No guest should leave feeling targeted, embarrassed, or unwelcome while simply trying to enjoy a night out celebrating a special occasion.

The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Would it kill them to add a veggie burger? Service is consistently awful. I've been here half a dozen times and I've never had good service. Drinks and water are never refilled unless I ask. It takes forever to get our order and once we do our server disappears. Seriously so bad. But I keep coming back for their good food.

Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

We sat outside, which was perfect for a quieter, more intimate dinner. A train passes by every so often, which gave it a cool New York vibe, but next time I'd probably sit inside. The interior looked much more lively and energetic, and they even have an upstairs seating area. We ordered the biscuits, tuna tartare, shrimp, a burger, and fries, and everything was fantastic. The biscuits were easily the highlight. Warm, buttery, crisp on the outside, and incredibly comforting. They reminded us of an elevated version of the classic Pillsbury biscuits, in the best way possible. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back. Great food, great atmosphere and service, and a really charming location. Highly recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised at the welcoming staff and warm ambiance. Going to slide one complaint in here, the noise level in the upstairs portion of the restaurant is LOUD. We sat upstairs and it was pretty difficult to hear my friends talk from just across the table. We powered through, and by the second half of our meal, most diners had finished and left us upstairs with only a couple of lingering parties. THEN this place became GREAT! Here's all that we stuffed ourselves with during the cacophony of chatter: flaky buttermilk biscuits, honey butter (3pc; please allow 20 minutes) - totally worth the 20 mins!! Super buttery and flaky, I might go back JUST FOR THIS! crispy calamari, horseradish cocktail sauce - great little kick in the sauce. Perfectly lightly battered. fideos, clams, chorizo, saffron, sweet sherry aïoli - mmmm, this was delicious. The Spanish chorizo enhanced the broth with a good saltiness. white shrimp from the griddle, aïoli - this was my favorite. The shrimp was not overcooked and peeled easily. The flavor was good enough to slurp the juices out. single burger, prime chuck, tillamook cheddar, dijonaise, egg brioche bun & crispy french fries - good meaty burger, love the dijonaise, GREAT shoestring fries. Parking is a little challenging during the day, not so bad in the evening. It's South Pas, a little neighborhood walk after dinner never hurts.
