We had actually tried to get into the steakhouse first, but at 5:30 p.m. they were already booked until 8:00, so the Tap Room it was--and honestly, **I'm glad we ended up there!** The drinks were REALLY good, and the service was just as great. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere was exactly what we needed after our afternoon tea experience. We reviewed the published Menu online from our room and found several appetizers we would like to order. When we arrived at the Tap Room about 6pm, it wasn't too crowded yet. The Music started at 7pm. Much to my disappointment, the Menu offerings were very different from that published online. None of the offerings were appealing, really. We ended-up splitting a cheeseburger (at a ritzy Pub?), really. The snack noshies/nuts were flavorless. The drinks were strong, but very pricey, in keeping with their 5-star rating, I suppose. What an exquisitely unique experience for a date night. Located i side of the Langham Huntington Pasadena hotel, nestled amidst the tree-lined residential Oak Knoll neighborhood of Pasadena, is the gorgeous cocktail lounge that features lived music on weekend nights. They do not take reservations and it gets pretty busy around 8ish so I recommend you show up around 7:30pm just before the live music starts. The ambience is moody and romantic, featuring deep hues and prohibition era decor, there are comfortable chairs with small cocktail tables and large leather couches for larger parties. The drinks were well poured and very tasty, highly recommend the Huntington for a bold drink that's ideal for the setting. This is a great place for a sexy and intimate date night. The live music was spectacular, some seriously good vocals, and the jazzy and soul selection was again impeccably matched for the ambiance. I enjoyed that all of the guests were dressed nicely, nothing I love more than an opportunity to slip on a sexy dress and heels while still staying local. This is the place if you want a reason to dress up. The food menu was limited and not my favorite but everything else was so unique and satisfying that I can overlook the food not being my favorite. I used to frequent The Tap Room a lot and loved the vibe and the complimentary nuts they provide. I finally brought my husband here and found out they changed the menu. The complimentary nuts were no longer the same and they were just okay. They now have very interesting menu items. I ordered the burger but had to modify i just wanted something simple. It was a cool surprise we got our drinks paid for by another customer standing in line in front of us at the bar, so kind of him! Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after. read more

Went here on a Friday night about 8-10pm Rachel was our server. We ordered two martinis with Tito. It tasted like rubbing alcohol. We changed to white wines....Food...ordered sliders they were good! Nice flavor and three sliders were filling. Popcorn chicken was a good portion except dudnt expect the mystery 5 spice flavor to it so sent it back for flatbread pizza. Server didn't explain the portion size well. i actually would order it again! Rachel did not speak up and had to ask us to repeat our orders on the food and took a long time to bring the wines. She said it's hard to hear with the loud music (my reply wanted to say so lean in closer or change jobs!) Genuinely impressed with this entire hotel, but the tap room really stood out. It feels like a hidden speakeasy with live music, and before the sun fully sets you get some beautiful views through the large hotel windows. The Langham hotel of course is amazing and there's a large window in the bar area where u can see great views outside. I ordered a lemon drop martini and it was STRONG but tasted so good! I arrived super late at the hotel but still wanted to go and get a drink so I walked over to The Tap Room at 10 o'clock at night and I'm really glad I did. The bartender was super nice and gave me some really good drink recommendations, which I went with. I turned one of the mocktails into a cocktail and that was definitely a move. Prices here a bit expensive, but it was expecting that since it's a hotel bar. Definitely loved the vibe and here and the atmosphere. We came in for some drinks and quick bites before our Halloween event at the Huntington garden. This lounge is spacious with a very beautiful patio area. A lot of comfy couches all over the place. We chose a cozy couch by the window which was very relaxing. We had vesper martini, sparkling rose, grilled octopus (gf), spicy tuna tartare and smash burger. Been here 3 times, ordered a different cocktail all 3 times and couldnt finish, had to switch to plain wine or whiskey. On a recent trip to the Langham I visited the Tap Room (twice). I love this bar. I have fond memories of visiting here a decade ago and it didn't disappoint this time around. Francis was my server on both occasions; he was attentive, friendly, and quick service on delivering food; he even remembered my name, which was very nice. On one occasion I had dinner there -- found my new favorite wine (a French varietal) and had their pub burger, which was very yummy. I do want to point out I was traveling with my senior dog, Bella, and she became the life of the outdoor area -- kids, fellow Tap Room attendees, and staff paid her attention and for the first time in a while... she just brightened up completely. When you have a senior dog, it's the little things like this that go along way... Plus, I loved the ambience. Prices are what they are -- you're at the Langham, if you're staying there.... the Tap Room is the least of the cost. I do mean this honestly, I didn't want to go to the Steak House (Royce) and I felt the Mexican spot (forgot the name) might be somewhat limiting because I didn't want Mexican food, which is what I had for breakfast at the Terrace... I really wanted to drink wine, look at the view, and have wonderful conversation. The Tap Room fit this bill... and on the first occasion, I got so much food i had to get a bag for home. Pearadise | $21 : (Hand-harvested Blue Agave Tequila, Prickly Pear, Lime, Black Lava Salt) - I've ordered this before, and is really my go-to. The bartender made it super balanced and refreshing. It's not too sweet and not too tart either. Jalapeño Crush | $23 : (Hand-harvested Blue Agave Tequila, Cucumber, Jalapeño, Pineapple, Cilantro, Lime) - This was very refreshing. The cilantro and cucumber were used perfectly and the jalapeño gives it a kick, but not too spicy. Spanish Style Potato Croquettes | $18 : (20-month Cured Jamon Serrano, Idiazabal Mozzarella, Brava Sauce) - At first glance, these look like mozzarella sticks but they're actually ham and cheese croquettes. Very tasty, especially with the sauce, and actually quite filling. The atmosphere is really nice with many seating areas. There are bar seats, sofas by a fireplace, chairs, and outdoor seating on the patio. The interior is dark and moody with the dark wooden columns, which takes you back in time a bit. Crème brûlée is different because it's not flan they use it's more like Chocolate and it's not that really sweet. Truffle fries you can taste the truffle and aioli oil. The aioli sauce is really good. Very addicting. Alcohol is actually good very worth it. Ambiance is really nice. Inside very intimate and outside refreshing and view is nice. I've heard of the Langham many times, and for years, I have been trying to muster up the courage to head there. See, I understand that the Tap Room at the Langham is on the fancy side and I was a bit nervous about fitting in. But, I got a new dress (black velvet - Aooogah!) and wanted to dress up a little, so I swallowed my fears and headed there. Arrived on Friday at around 8:15pm and all available seats were taken - bummer. I would have loved to sit at one of the seats at the bar, but pro tip for next time - get there early - before the music starts! I stood at the bar for a bit, while I listened to the lovely Piano music, but in all honesty, it wasn't what I was expecting. NOT BAD! But, I like a little twang to my jazz. I love a piano moment, but it was Friday night and I wanted something a bit livelier. Next time I visit, I'll keep this in mind. The bartenders were very attentive and all were super nice, this helped calm my fears a bit, and made great drinks. I had an old fashioned + The "Henry Meets Hemingway". Both were great and ran me about ~$55 bucks with Tip. I will definitely be back to the Langham. It was such a beautiful and swanky place. read more
