    Ribeye Prime from Iowa
    Rachel W.

The ambiance here was amazing! The restaurant had a clean and nice modern interior with a great view outside. The ribeye prime (from Iowa) was juicy with a nice charred flavour. The meat was also very flavourful and tender. However, the steak was a bit too cold compared to other steakhouses. The warm and fluffy bread that came on the side was great though. The servers were also very friendly and gave us a complimentary cake slice for our birthday dinner. Overall, it is a great place for celebrations and the hotel itself is beautiful for a stroll after the meal.

The Royce went above and beyond for our party. The best service in the white wine room, by Robert and his crew. We were comfortable and relaxed. Robert offered great suggestions of course the steak. We tried New York prime, ribeye prime, ribeye wagyu. All very delicious. We also tried many of the side dishes, duck fat fries, Mac and cheese, with lobster and truffle, baked potatoe, Brussels sprouts, complimented our entrees. The appetizers were also delicious, octopus, hamachi, mushroom soup, gnocchi. But my favorite was the special surprise for my cousin's bday. His fiance was overseas for his birthday and made special arrangements to have a full cake delivered with a special QR code to display a video off his closest friends and relatives to wish him a happy birthday. Thank you to the staff at The Royce for making his 50th birthday special. Also the cake that was served was the best cake we ever had. Yellow cake with a lemony filling and fresh berries and the best buttercream frosting. Decadent....still dreaming about it. Very well executed.

Dessert Chef David! ‍ A simple bday dessert that was amazing

The reason this is a 5 star is Jorge our server & David the dessert chef!! Uff that bday dessert was worth it all - bless you and whatever brought you to the Langham Chef David! Jorge guided us thru the menu and where we should focus but we went to other options too .... But Jorge's suggestions were always THE best!

I decided to treat myself to a fancy, expensive dinner at The Royce. I did the $250 5 course meal option, and when I arrived, decided to splurge further and spend the extra $100 on the wine pairing with my meal. When in Rome, and all that. If you were to ask me if I would do it again, I would say yes, but with another person there with me. Since I was alone, I ate rather quickly, so there wasn't as much time between my courses as there would be with someone else, so I felt like I was rushing myself. The first course was a caviar cone and champagne, which were delightful. The sourdough bread and salted butter were also amazing. Next course was beet noodles, which I was impressed with because I typically hate beets. Course 3 was a seafood dish that was cooked well, I'm not often the biggest fan of squid, but I liked this one. The chef came out to speak to me as my steak arrived, and it was nice to meet him. The steak was beautiful, from Colorado, and cooked well. I'd definitely get another from here in a heartbeat. Finally I had the tiramisu with some port for dessert and it was almost like a Dubai chocolate consistency inside it. The whole ambiance is lovely, with the white and red wine rooms being fun to look around at as you walk inside the restaurant. Plan ahead and definitely eat here if you're staying onsite at the Langham.

Celebrated My Husband's Birthday Dinner Here We chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday and were impressed by the ambiance right away. It's a very pretty spot with beautiful décor, and we especially loved our seating with a view of the garden--such a lovely touch for a special evening. Food & Drinks Overall, the food was okay, though not quite on par with the atmosphere or price point. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered: Starters: * Caesar Salad - 5/5 Surprisingly delicious! The addition of figs sounded odd at first, but they worked incredibly well. The dressing was also spot on. * Hamachi - 5/5 Absolutely outstanding! If we could have ordered 10 more of these, we would have. Easily the highlight of the night. Main Course: * Australian Wagyu Ribeye - 3/5 Unfortunately, this was a bit of a letdown. For the price and the quality expected from Australian wagyu, we found the steak to be on the chewy side. We've had better elsewhere, where the texture was more tender and buttery. Sides: * Silky Mash - 3/5 A standard mashed potato dish. Nothing particularly memorable. * Lobster Mac & Cheese - 3/5 Tasted more like a regular mac and cheese with lobster pieces tossed in. * Truffle Fries - 3/5 Standard fries with a sprinkle of truffle salt. * Wild Mushrooms - 4/5 These were flavorful and nicely prepared--probably the best of the sides. Service: Service was excellent throughout. The staff were attentive and professional, and we had no complaints in that department. Overall Rating: 3/5 While the ambiance and service were excellent, the food--especially the steak--fell short of expectations given the price. Still, it was a beautiful setting to celebrate a special occasion.

Very nice atmosphere with a viewing area of the garden outside! Restaurant was quiet and attentive to our needs. Every dish that was prepared was delicious. There was absolutely nothing negative about the food service and atmosphere. We ordered grilled Spanish octopus, chanterelle gnocchi, seared Hokkaido scallops, grilled u-6 gambas, ribeye prime, wood fired branzino, lobster mac and cheese. For drinks we had the yuzu essence and the gls telmont reserve brut. Ended the meal with desserts and chose saint honore, house made sorbet, and vanilla basque cheesecake. The yuzu essence drink was amazing. The drink was very pretty. If you like fruity and sweet alcohol, I would recommend. Our party of 4 really enjoyed our meal.

The customer service is great. Upon arrival we were greeted and our table was ready. Food was absolutely delicious. Every dish and drink was quite delightful. Loved the layout here. I'd love to come back

    Duck Hand Cut French Fries

Food- steak would have been good if it had been cooked properly. Mashed potatoes were cold and sent back. Second batch was dry. Asparagus was tender but was served warm. Mac and cheese was delicious. Caesar salad was light and fresh tasting but needed a little more dressing for my preference. Fries were soggy. Service- excellent Ambiance- upscale and beautiful steakhouse with an ocean twist I would not recommend this place based on the fact that they could not get their steak cooked properly and this is a steakhouse. Mashed potatoes at a steakhouse should not disappoint either.

We came here for the Christmas pre-fix menu inside the wine room. Our reservation was 8pm and we got there at 8:11pm and seated at around 8:30pm... Pre fix menu about $200 per adult $65 for kids.... Wait time in between course 1 and course 2 was around 40 minutes! Course 1: choice of beet salad or beef carpaccio Both are not my favorite to begin with (You get 4 slices of either beet or beef) Course 2: choice of bone marrow or Brussels salad Not really good choices so far Course 3: Duck breast, lamb, scallops or prime rib Scallops and the ribeye were ok Dessert: only 1 choice (strawberry shortcake) The kids said the sundae was better. Overall: We had a party of 10 total comes out to about $2500 $500 Tip: Not well deserved at ALL. We had to flag someone down to refill the water & no one was smiling on Christmas Day! The waiter kept pushing for us to get the 50% off wine about 3 attempts. Not worth coming here on Christmas Day or any day! We got better service at the Brunch House in Temecula and the 100th Fogo de Chão in Florida it's not even a fancy hotel... Save your money and go elsewhere!

The Royce never disappoints. There are a couple of steakhouses I also like in Beverly Hills. But when I am in Pasadena, it is not worth the drive. The Royce is always on point. Great service, wonderful ambiance and steaks. This time we were able to score a table for two that I have always hoped we could sit at. When you think of a steakhouse in a hotel you may question it, but remember it's in the Langham!

I had a great experience here, with good food, drinks, and a wonderful vibe. The staff, including the servers, chef, and manager Alan, were all incredibly attentive. The food is definitely "fine-dining" quality, but it's important to set your expectations--it's not quite Michelin-level.

Great service! Food is well made but in smaller quantities. Very expensive spot FYI. Nice ambiance and great views. Servers were amazing!

Wagyu prime rib 14 oz, prime rib in-bone 32 oz, wild mushrooms

My spouse and I celebrated her 50th birthday in The Royce. I reserved a table for dinner via Open Table. We were greeted by Maggie and were seated after a minute. We felt really special because she gave us a table for 4 instead of two since I informed them online of our celebration (the table was gorgeous btw!) Chef also gave my spouse a complimentary dessert, which tasted heavenly! We ordered charred octopus, wild mushrooms, Wagyu prime rib 14 oz and in-bone prime rib 32 oz. It is pricey but it's all worth it. The restaurant is beautiful, Dan our server was knowledgeable.

I would order the everything thing again tonight if I could go back. The ribeye was seared perfectly with a nice crust and yet medium rare on the inside. Don't even think about sauce because the steak has so much flavor. Nothing is needed. When we were not too decisive about dessert, Seth recommended pineapple sorbet to close off the night and cleanse the pallet. It was the perfect choice. They provided complimentary bread service with their butter trio and it was incredible! Each butter had its own unique flavor, and every type of bread was warm and delicious. We asked for the bone marrow to come out with the bone-in ribeye, and I'm so glad we did. Spreading the rich, buttery bone marrow onto the steak made every bite even better. The bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly with a beautiful crust while staying juicy and flavorful inside. Our server even suggested saving some of the butter to enjoy with the steak later, which ended up being a great recommendation. We also ordered the Wagyu fried rice, which was tasty with the roe. The menu is ambitious to say the least. Heroic lists of Appetizers, Pastas, Pizza, Mains, Seafood, Steaks, Sides, Sauces and Desserts. The Kitchen is fearless because they know they can crank out everything on the menu properly. And you know, they can. I opted for Pollo Las Hierbas (Herb Roasted Chicken), spatchcocked (back cone removed and the whole half Chicken squashed flat for quick and easy grilling). Did I mention that the portions are substantial? They are. The Chicken begins it's journey soaking in Lemon and Herbs. For an additional $2 you can bury the whole bird with Diabla Sauce. (read Spicy Chili Gravy). This Sauce would be delicious over julienned Gym Socks or Dust Bunnies. The welcome heat is delicious even if you're timid with spice. The Chicken arrives tender but with crisp edges, juicy and tasting like Chicken could and should taste. While the Chicken was definitely marinated it's hard to determine if it was brined first. No matter as it was spot on great. The Chicken Chef was not chicken and got it right. The Sauteed Spinach retained it's Spinach integrity and was fished out of the water while still slightly toothy. Excellent. The Kitchen elevated Spinach beyond Pop-Eye's power surge urge. This was beyond just a Side Dish. Vegans, have at it. The Roasted Potatoes were also good enough to enjoy as a Main. Really crunchy nuggets with creamy centers. This place not only offers fine comida de la gente, the restaurant is efficient but doesn't rush. Want to enjoy sobremesa? (relaxing time after dinner to discuss politics, religion, sex and gossip about the people you've just dined with). Sobremesa (literally means around the table) is a charming and civilized concept. Spanish culture doesn't like to hurry. So share the sad, glad, mad personal issues that go best after Dessert. Malbec, prings back sweet memories of a morning Cortado and a Media Luna at Oriente Coffee Bar. Malbe, I'll be back.

Had a good dinner on Saturday. Haven't been here in a while. Started the dinner with Empanadas duo…read more(beef and chicken) Followed by their fish of the day, which was Branzino. And for meats went with Tabla por Dos. Lamb and Ribs. Both meats were tender and flavorful. For sides, ordered their Potato and Grilled Veggies. The server was friendly and we had a great time here.
