We lived near this meat mkt since it first opened always bought my meat here because it was good & reasonably priced. We moved away but found ourselves near today so stopped in to get our tripe for menudo. They had none out in the case so worker went to back to get from "freezer" I was speechless when he weighed & priced it. It was $5.99 lb which is way way overpriced that's twice as much as Cardenas ($2.99lb) price So for a little over 8 lbs was more than $50 Save yourself money go somewhere else! read more

Great and convenient place, but wow the prices are very high! I bought 2.28 lbs of white potatoes and the price was not posted. When I reviewed the receipt, I realized I was charged $6.82 for five potatoes ($2.99 per lb.)!! Their carrots were .79 and I was charged .89 which is not big deal, but .79 was the posted price. And given the price of the potatoes, this just made it more painful. I'll have to be much more careful when shopping here in the future. I won't say I won't come back because it's very close to my home, but now I know convenience is expensive. read more

I'm all for supporting small business and would always buy my meat from this store till today. I ordered 4 lbs of ground beef and they priced it at $23 that's $5.75 a lbs. I also noticed that the Nescafé usually sells here for $2.99 they had it priced at $8.99??? If that is not price gauging I don't know what is. I told the butcher, never mind! Keep your overpriced meat. Now, as for me I will never go into their store again. If we support small business to keep them running, why would they do this during this stressful time in the sane community that is supporting them. I would give this place 5 stars if they could add more room to the market. The carne para Asar is top choice and will cook very tenderfull. One of the things that I like about this place is they weigh your meat first then they prepare it. This way your paying for just the meat not meat that has absorbed water. They are a full service butcher shop so they will cut any meat to your specification. It's busy all the time usually with a lot of Hispanic families looking to buy a lot of meat. The quality of meat seemed to be pretty high and they cut it any way you want and have a wide selection of meats. I asked for carne asada and they actually cut the meat in front of me and put in a marinade (it was from a jug). When I cooked it at home... quality was there but no much on the taste. This place is small, but has lots of things one might need. It reminds me of a little market in Mexico. They make their on guacamole and it doesn't disappoint. They also carry lots of veggies that's a must for salsas and Mexican home made cooking. The prices are decent considering that there are no other grocery store near. The marinating is from Goya (meat marinate) they also add in fresh squeezed oranges and chop up a few and toss them in, green onions and cocaine. It has to be cocaine to get you to crave this meat. Once you try it you'll fall in love. You will get the night shakes thinking about your next bbq. Around holidays or great weather expect long waits.
