They offer a good amount of individual and small group seating, and a few options for large group seating. The drink I ordered, the Strawberry Galaxy long island, wasn't the best and was kinda pricey, so I don't think I'd order that one again, but I would try some of their other drinks. read more

A rooftop bar, facing straight at the arch. I mean, just that sentence is immensely cool. I came up here two nights in a row. The crowds were very different on each, but the bartenders and the overall vibe is great. It's almost meditative up here. The bartenders are the absolute coolest. The house cab is a very nice wine, and certainly not over-priced. I ordered the truffle chips with a garlic dipping sauce. The garlic balances well with the truffle essence. If there was a ballgame at SLU, you could watch it from the SE corner of the patio. If you are staying at the hotel and need to unwind, let it all go, and be one with the universe, you could do far worse than the Art Bar. Art Bar is a trendy, aesthetic rooftop bar that also happens to be on top of an arts hotel. Street parking is available. There was only one bartender working, so service was a bit slow. Drinks and food were a bit pricey. I ordered the Peachy-Keen Sidecar, and it was delicious! It had a sugar rim, and the flavor of Crown Peach was nicely balanced. For a small plate, I ordered the Grand Sliders. These were ok. The patties themselves were a bit bland, but the ensemble of toppings (herb aioli, onion straws, and bacon) combined with the burger was pretty good. It was definitely overpriced and not something I would purchase again. I would definitely recommend this place for a girls' night! I have to update my review because I went recently before a show at the fox and no one was friendly at all. It was pretty empty and it took over 10 min for someone at the bar to even acknowledge or ask what I wanted. We finally ordered a martini, glass of wine and a spinach artichoke dip and I was shocked at the price being $60 plus. They do include gratuity so the total made more sense but the lack of service I did not love that. Our app took about 20 min to come out, it was good! The menu said it came with pita but it did end up coming with chips. Which was fine by us because it was good. The drinks were also well made and tasty. You really can't beat their gorgeous rooftop patio views of the city! Could have just been an off night but I felt it was worth noting. read more

We came here after dinner and were treated to a live solo violinist. It was quite beautiful considering we were up there on the roof and it was a such a pretty night. The space is pretty open and offers seats in the bar and all throughout the rooftop. We managed to snag a corner at the bar and were able to get drinks with a minimal wait. I got the blue lagoon and he got the mango mojito. Both were fruity and quite pleasant. Mine reminded me of blue kool-aid but in a good way. It had the perfect amount of sweetness, but enough alcohol to make you feel like you were still an adult. I enjoyed his as well and really liked the combo of sweetness and mint combined. We stayed long enough for a drink and then left but enjoyed our time while here. It's def a great date night spot or a place to get a drink before you head out. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

My friend and I ended up here on a whim - we wanted a drink at a festive bar, given it's the season of holiday pop-ups! Our drinks were very tasty, we opted for desert vibes. The presentation was clearly on point! But, rather pricy for a cocktail in STL, with the automatic gratuity my total was over $20. Not my favorite holiday pop-up bar ever, it felt a little bit lackluster in the decor department. I don't think they even had Christmas music - if they did it was very quiet. Visited the Art Bar at the Angad Arts Hotel for Analog Under the Arch, a unique experience curated by Yelp where myself and about 40 others enjoyed Dirty Dancing on a beautiful rainy evening. Their Christmas pop-up! The Moose Mug Lounge is a must, if not solely for the moose-shaped glasses some of the drinks are served in. Rooftop vibes but inside seating so no need to fear the cold. I visited the hotel for the art and bar experience. The hotel lobby is a small Art Gallery. There is two art installations exhibited. The Cirus Flora and another The Gallery of doors: Intergalactic ecosystems. It's was great to learn about the non profit circus based out of STL. I love everything about Christmas, the decorations, the food, the ugly sweaters. one of the things that I enjoy the most is going to bars and restaurants all decked out for the season. Over the last couple of years there has been a rise in bars that take on a Christmas theme. Some are true popup bars like Miracle that only exist part of the year. Art bar is getting into the action as well. The bar sits at the top of the Angad hotel in the Grand center Arts District. There is a small indoor bar and then a couple outdoor patios. There is a very nice view to the north, south, and east towards the Arch and Downtown. Right now there is a limited food menu and then a list of holiday themed drinks. There is a decent amount of decorations but less than other themed bars I've been to. The service was a bit odd. People were at tables, and had some food as well, so we initially thought there was table service. There wasn't though and we ended up ordering at the bar. The bartender was in conversation with a guy at the bar so I only got half of her attention. Not a huge deal, but it wasn't great customer service. I ordered a drink that was hot chocolate with Frangelico and whisky and my wife got one that had vanilla vodka. Her drink was fine, but I absolutely hated mine. The whisky was much too strong which ruined the drink. The drink would have been better as just hot chocolate and Frangelico. Overall it was okay, but it wasn't something I'd go out of my way for. I think the bar would be much nicer as just the regular rooftop bar in nicer weather. read more

Logistics - This location earned points for being a unique spot however overall the experience left a lot to be desired. Art Bar is located on the top floor of the art museum hotel. We were hotel guests so we were already paying for parking but I did see a lot of spots on the street that you could use for free. Once inside take the elevator all the way to the lobby then turn right and head up the staircase. Technically another elevator went all the way but it didn't seem to be the main one. The hotel, lobby and art museum are very cool and worth checking out. Pro tip, you can walk around with your drinks! Experience - I'm super patient with service but I placed an order to go with a cocktail to have while I waited. We had about an hour and a half before a show next door so the plan was to order food to go, drop it off in the room and head out. About 30 mins goes by and my partner joined me, we got another round while we continued to wait. After an hour we were running out of time for the plan. My order was just hummus and tacos & they weren't packed so I was getting concerned. I got the bartenders attention to ask for an eta and they ran back to the kitchen to check, after about 5 more minutes they came out with our food. The food - We grabbed the bag and ran out then dropped off the box in our hotel fridge. When we got back to the room after the show (ready for snacks) I was really disappointed by the contents of our box. Everything was packed together in the same container. The tacos weren't horrible, they did what they needed to do but the hummus was... lacking. Lacking in physical hummus and lacking in flavor. There was maybe a tablespoon max and veggies just tossed on top. If it wasn't so expensive I could have looked past everything but the drinks were around $20 each and with our apps the total came out to almost $100. I hear there are a lot of places close by to try. We just were really focused on getting something easy and ultimately we paid the price of connivence. read more

We wanted to have a drink before we went to a Christmas party and decided a pop up sounded ideal. This place liked very festive... think Christmas Vacation. Even the menu's drinks were named after the movie. The drinks... though a little pricey... we're really good and as you know presentation is everything. The only thing that was not the best is the help in getting there. We drove down the street not knowing where to go. We tried to park in the lot... couldn't, we went around it looking for a sign of some sort. Then we decided to drive the circle in front of the door and noticed the sign for the gallery as we were leaving. After we walked in there were signs. As a person that is directionally challenged this was an issue. That being said I'd definitely go back. I very rarely write negative reviews so I want to make sure I'm thoughtful but also truthful. I'll start by saying Art Bar is a gorgeous space. The decor, the rooftop, even the drinks were aesthetically perfect. Furthermore, the bartenders were amazing. They were super attentive, very fun, and made exceptional drinks. That said, we got to Art Bar at 5:15 last night and there were a handful of tables occupied, nothing crazy. We put in our food and drink order then took our (delicious) drinks out to the patio. Around 6, we still hadn't received our food and it had gotten pretty busy inside. We decided we'd get one more drink and wait it out. At 6:30 we still hadn't received our food (1 hour and 15 minutes later) so we asked one of the bartenders when we might expect it. There were also several other people asking and several more people leaving out of frustration. The bartender was super kind and just say hey, you know, food is an hour long wait. Had that been mentioned to us when we ordered that would have been okay but we'd also been waiting OVER an hour at that point. Ultimately we had to leave because we had a 7 pm show at the Fox and our bartender was kind enough to void our tab and remove the food so we only had to pay for our drinks. I really wanted to love this place but it was just super chaotic on the kitchen side of the house. I think the lack of communication, in general, made it tough to excuse and I hope they get it figured out. read more

View and seating area are both really good, but unfortunate service on a Sunday evening before a show at the Fox was a real disappointment. After being seated for 15 minutes without menus or a drinks menu we eventually ordered our own drinks at the bar, bearing in mind there were only 4 tables with customers. One of my favorite bars in STL!! Fun ambiance, both indoor and outdoor seating, and a very fun hotel to explore underneath. The bar is on the rooftop and has a great, casual vibe. They usually have great music too. My only con is that service isn't always super quick. They seem to underestimate the crowd a lot. We had a fun evening at the Art Bar for the Christmas pop up, but weren't overly impressed with the drinks. We tried the Flying Squirrel (spiked hot chocolate), Old Fashioned, and All Nighter. The All Nighter was definitely the best of the three. The Flying Squirrel was not well balanced and was too boozy with not enough cocoa flavor. Service was pretty good. The decorations were a little less than we were hoping for as well, but the view is fantastic. We may come back when it's warmer just for the patio. read more
