I went to Cortadito Coffee House's Washington location when I was in South Beach for a few hours on a weekday and needed a little afternoon caffeine so I downloaded the Cortadito app in advance and when doing so you get a free Cortadito on your first order, the coupon applies as checkout. I ordered when I was in the store and the app defaulted to the Meridian location and there was no way to change it. The staff saw what happened and jumped to action and called the Meridian store and said they would let everyone know and started making the coffee in their store. A few minutes later I had my coffee and I was on my way. The staff were all so nice and helpful and the coffee was absolutely amazing! Definitely stop in if you are in the area! read more

A local chain that does Cuban sandwiches and pastries quite well. The menu includes some questionable non-Cuban dishes (e.g. pancakes), but I avoided them. Was quite pleased with what I ordered. Ham Croqueta: Crispy outside breading and very gooey inside. There were nice ham chunks inside. Chicken Croqueta: Same format as the ham croqueta. Though this one was kinda bland. The chicken strands just kinda blended in with the gooey mush center whereas the ham chunks were nice and smoky. Tequeño: Nicely executed with a cheesy center and crispy outside. Cuban Sandwich: I like how they really pay attention an evenly distributed and nicely crisped press on both sides. Many places are only partially crispy. The ratio of ham, pork, cheese, pickles and mustard was just right. The flavors worked in harmony and there wasn't one ingredient that dominated the rest. read more

Don't trust the kiosk that what you order will be available. Also very hard to use in the sunlight . Empanadas are good but the coffee is overpriced for what you get. $4.25 for 3 tablespoons, Really? Three people cut in front and just ordered at the register... Workers are harried, tables are dirty, and the music in the back is too loud. Can't say I'd ever come back. Cool little shop that easy walking distance from hotels or the beach. A lot of different choices for drinks, both hot and cold. The food there was really good as well. I had the iced Hazelnut Latte and the breakfast wrap both were great. The ladies working at the shop were very friendly. All in all, a great place for some Java and a bite. read more

Kind staff who are patient with indecisive customers ;) Eat here or take to go, A few tables indoors, a few on the sidewalk. It's not quiet at least it's well ventilated. This coffee shop is located in a convenient location a block from the beach in South Beach Miami. It's aesthetically pleasing inside and has a few tables where you can relax and enjoy your coffee. You can also get traditional snacks like empanadas to accompany your drink. Ordering is at the counter or on their computer kiosk. For us it took so long to order on the computer, that it would've been faster to wait at the counter. That's just us though! ;) Their coffee is good and the Cafe Bombon was delicious and decadent. Got the app to place orders from this coffee house. The app doesn't provide live info on your order and no one calls your name when the order is ready. All of our hot coffees were cold. Most everything is self service too... including sugar, table cleaning, and etc. But, the app will want to automatically add a tip to an already expensive coffee. These types of places are a one-time option once you've experienced it. And god forbid if you ask why they didn't call your name! Stopped here after my cruise. We docked early so I was hungry. The hotel desk clerk recommended this for good café con leche. When we arrived there was a line out the door so we knew it was going to be good. We had the Cuban breakfast; scrambled eggs, 2 ham croquetas and tostadas with bacon. It was very flavorful, filling and fresh. The han croquetas were crunchy and delicious. I prefer crunchy bacon but it was good. The cafe con leche was soooooo good. They had a small seating are inside and outside. I wish I had time to check out their selection of bowls and smoothies. I got a cafe con leche and the Cuban combo for breakfast on my visit. The croquetas de jamón were fantastic and the bacon was smoky and slightly sweet too. It reminds me of the million dollar bacon at First Watch, but perfectly cooked. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast and highly recommend you visit. Needed a little pick-me-up since I had some work to catch up on during my Miami trip, and saw that this place was nearby! I had had my fill of cortaditos and coladas that weekend, so I decided to just go with something cold. I went with the iced caramel flan latte which was pretty solid. I will say that the espresso wasn't necessarily something to write home about, but it wasn't bad. Though it was a little hard to tell what made this a caramel flan latte rather than just a caramel latte. If you're ordering to go, you have the option of either ordering at the counter or on the kiosk, which was super convenient, and the drink came out quick! The place was super cute in terms of decor and wish I stayed longer - this would have been a great place to hang with friends. Service awful, food ok, ambiance fine if you like a loud Starbucks . Not cheap - my tiny mocha espresso was $5, if I wanted to try a grande equivalent sized flavored coffee, it would have been $7. Ordering from the kiosk was stressful because I was worried people would like up behind me. Figure out if we grab my yogurt and his juice was difficult because of a language barrier with staff.
