Sadly, the quality of meat here is not great. I got an egg/cheese/bacon croissant and it was just the most grissley, chewy, fatty ham-like bacon that I had to spit out. I wouldn't order food here again, as I've seen others have had trouble with the quality of meat being bad as well. Got into town late and the hotel restaurant was closed. A Google search showed me Primo Cafe and Market, one block away was still open. I checked it out and glad I did. Nice clean store with lots of drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) prepared foods, desserts and pastries, snacks as well as Sundries and souvenirs. I didn't want something too heavy and was trying to eat somewhat healthy since it was after 11:30 p.m. and I needed to go to sleep soon. I was able to order a salad that they made fresh and I'm super impressed by the size of the salad itself and all of the great ingredients inside. Especially appreciated how she heated up the grilled chicken and gave me a ton of avocado. Usually when you add avocado to things it's just a few slices but they make those avocados really big down here in Miami and I feel like she gave me almost a quarter of the Giant avocado. Once he discovered they also had fresh food, he ordered a pizza and a Cuban sandwich, and called me to meet him there. This was a "Miami Cuban", of course, so no salami. It's a bodega: sometimes that's what you want. Prices are fine, not great. Food is fine, not great. Service is pretty good, friendly but disjointed: order food at one counter, pay at another and return to the first to get food, then serve your own condiments at a third spot and head out to search for a table. Always a line - well, more than one line: there's a line to order, a line to pay and a mob milling around waiting for food. And usually some doofus standing right in front of the condiment area doing nothing in particular. This place was directly across from my hotel in Miami Beach. Excellent food and prices for the area were very reasonable. Had the croissant with egg and bacon twice. This thing is huge, could probably feed two people. Also had a Cuban sandwich that was great. It's a well run operation and it was very crowded ...they sell almost every item imaginable except for screw drivers and kitchen sinks. I think I saw batteries being sold near some water. Its nice to have outdoor tables when its 90 degrees out . I got some type of egg and cheese crassointe that they packaged very well and did not fall apart. If you happen to like lattes with a cuban feel and are some type of coffee junky like myself then you're in luck. This spot is super busy, which is a great sign. They sell hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, and an assortment of other pastries, inside a small market that has drinks, snacks, and merchandise. All that being said, I had a poor experience here. My partner ordered a sandwich, and I ordered a bagel. My partner got her sandwich instantly, where as I had to wait over 25 minutes for my bagel. When I finally went up to the counter to see what the status was, they went and found my bagel sandwich just sitting there, cold and forgotten about. They did not remake it, and it tasted pretty gross once everything got to room temperature. Forgetting half of a customers order and not remaking it for them is pretty poor service. read more

There many of food is quite diverse, they sell breakfast sandwiches, empanadas, lunch sandwiches, salads, etc. When we went to breakfast, I got a ham egg and cheese on a bagel with fruit. The fruit of fresh and the bagel was so delicious. For lunch I got a whole turkey sandwich which was huge! I split it with my mom. Not sure what the complaining is about when it comes to the cost of sunscreen ,etc.. You're in Miami. Either bring it with you or pay for the convenience of a store across the street from your hotel. With those complaints aside (not from me, but others), I found the store to be quite reasonable and pleasant--from the sandwiches made to order at lunch by hard-working local ladies who were super kind (we had the Midnight which was very, very good) to the other deli options (empanadas and cookies, etc...) and pre-packaged chips and cookies. We stayed at the Hyatt Confidante and found this to be a great little convenience store nearby. Not the best wine or beer shop--not even close--terrible in fact--but that's not what this is supposed to be. 5 stars for convenience and for being good at what it is supposed to be good at. read more

Primo Cafe and Market fits the bill for some needed items while in the Miami Beach area. To be sure the deli and pastry area is quite good. After reading reviews on Yelp and staying nearby on business I came over for some breakfast. I wasn't strictly plant based on this visit. I ordered the spinach pie which was pastry crust wrapped in spinach and cheese and upon eating a boiled egg inside. Not what I really wanted being mostly plant based but I really enjoyed the dish. I also ordered a fresh squeezed OJ for which they have a machine that peels the oranges, presses, and filters them. I had high hopes for the OJ as I get great OJ where I live further north, but this was pretty dissapointing. Probably due to the difficult orange yields lately in Florida. I'd skip it in the future, as it's not worth the cost. I did really enjoy the Iced Coffee though, and I'm not a coffee drinker most of the time. The market has lots of options though pretty overpriced. However it's Miami beach so that's to be expected. read more
