Walked in and Nelly Furtado was playing, immediately knew I loved this place! The employee working was very kind, card declined and they let me pay in cash. The service was above and beyond my expectations! The seating is wonderful, you can see the lovely outdoors from any table! Got a sandwich to go last weekend, with a side. The first thing I would have to say is the bread is very fresh I would have to assume they make it fresh on site. The way the bread cracks on the onside and softness on the inside, you know that it's fresh. The fillings, pretty typical of a deli sandwich. I got a turkey sandwich. The sandwich is a nice size at a good price. I got a greek salad on the side. This had really nice big chunks of tomato's, feta, cucumber, onion capers etc. it was very tasty. Since this place is located in old Pasadena, parking is going to be in garage and you'll will have to walk there. We found this place by chance by seeing an instagram advertisement by a YouTuber, the cafe is on Colorado street. Very clean and trendy. The food quality does not disappoint. Slightly underwhelming. The visit didn't start off on a great foot. I arrived at 7 when they opened and I stood at the front waiting, there were 2 workers in the back that saw me and didn't say anything. 7 minutes later someone comes up to the front door and unlocks it. I gather the staff that was already in the building are not front of house but seeing as how they saw me it would have been courteous to acknowledge me and let me know the opener should be arriving shortly. I was picking up a Too Good To Go bag which was a good value, I received a sandwich, croissant, and one other pastry. Since I was there I ordered a hot matcha tea. I was disappointed to see him merely pour hot water into a paper cup and add matcha without the traditional whisking. That resulted in a not very smooth matcha. I will say they have a really cute space and what looks like some other really good items on their menu so it's a toss up if I would come back. The focaccia was not to my liking, the bread was ok. But the olives had a strange taste to them and while I like spice there was a strange spiciness to it that didn't pair well with the flavors. The sandwich I got was decent, it reminded me of a school lunch which was kind of nostalgic. I beefed it up with a few home ingredients which made it better but I will say I really loved the ciabatta they use. We are soooo pleasantly surprised by this place. It was just beyond expectations! Aaaamazing, fresh taste of a real home-cooked meal. And believe you me, I have a gourmet chef cooking for me at home and I'm spoiled by all kinds of cuisines and home-cooked meals. So, my expectations are always very high and I am not easily pleased at all. So we ordered two classics, which was the Armenian traditional bean soup and the tomato omelette! And then we added the chicken quesadilla. I had zero expectations of the quesadilla, which turned out to be so amazing. I have never tasted anything so good in a quesadilla form. They made a healthy, light, mouth-watering remix on it. The dough (of the shell) was light and delicious and did not feel like a dough at all. The filling was very generous and balanced -- not greasy or annoyingly overwhelming with any ingredients. All made from scratch! Workers were also very generous and treated us to a housemade lemonade -- which I'm not a big lemonade fan, but the way they made it was so balanced and not overly sweet that I really enjoyed it. As for the other two dishes -- they were also through the Roof yummy. I looooved the soup, and I know both Armenian and Georgian cuisines (which is big on beans) very well and I'm a big fan of beans and I'm very picky with my beans. The broth and everything was so on point. And the last but not least -- the tomato omelette, which happens to be my not my favourite dish in general, even though I have somebody cooking it very well for me. But I took one spoonful and I was really impressed. And so was my family member who usually makes it herself from scratch at home. Overall, it really felt like we ate at home and ate a very good quality food, with our tummies feeling so happy and grateful right now. None of that heartburn, none of that bloating that you get when you eat at other places. Yes, there is no private parking but nothing on Colorado has private parking. However, the public parking is not too far and it's very reasonably priced only one dollar for the first two hours). This place is totally worth walking a little. I will definitely be back and I will be trying their stirfry and more dishes! And I'm really excited about trying their breakfast stuff. Oh, they also have really good looking pastries there. I was really eyeing the crêpe cake but I already got so full. Oh well. Next time. The guy running the place was also super nice super professional and super generous. He really treats customers with much patience and believe me, I'm a picky annoying kind of a customer who asks many questions and usually drives people up the wall. He did not even show a sign of irritation and was nothing but courteous and helpful. It is truly a gem in every way and a very rare thing to find these days to have a good quality Food, freshly made from scratch for a reasonable price in a clean place. We were actually going to go grab some ice cream in downtown Pasadena after hanging out at the convention center for Cat Con but after walking past by, we saw that they had a pretty decent lunch special deal and we wanted to grab it within the last 30-40 or so minutes before they closed. Yay for spontaneous adventures! Service was friendly and they were accommodating to people even if they were entering in the last 5 minutes. As this place also doubles as a bakery though, just know that some things are sold out towards the end of the day or cannot be feasibly concocted for you for take out without disgustingly extending their hours. But that's just common sense though, right? Hopefully. Either way, the restaurant is quite cute and has a little bit of fancy flair to it. I can see it being a great place to grab a coffee and pastry or to have a fancy brunch to catch up with someone. Or if you just want to sit back and relax or catch up on some work or studying. It's refreshing mix of wood, brick, and greenery. For the lunch special that drew us in, we got the: Armenian Breakfast. Pretty unique as you can get either the standard American breakfast, or you can be more adventurous and get French, English (complete with baked beans), or the Armenian like we did. The Armenian Breakfast we got included: a choice of 2 eggs (we got over easy, feta cheese, Armenian gata (an Armenian sweet bread pastry), their homemade bread, green salad with vinaigrette, potato wedges, and a coffee. Boyfriend got the iced coffee no sugar and it helped him wake up from the midafternoon sleepies. Pretty sizeable dish and easily shareable if you want to eat something else in downtown a bit later. Bread was delicious and went great dipping into the egg yolk. The gata was a bit dry, but I'm sure you're supposed to enjoy this with the coffee. I'm a sucker for potatoes so I just snacked on these throughout the entire meal. You can never go wrong with breakfast and you can't go wrong with eating it here. read more

First things first let's talk about the welcoming I received from the young guy working....not a hello how are you nothing and no acknowledgment from the other lady that was working It was straight up What do you need? I had mentioned that I had two, too good to go orders to pick up. Immediately He had them bagged which had me a little red flagged because was the stuff just sitting there? Indeed the stuff was just sitting there. I ordered two different boxes, a lunchbox and a sandwich box and I will say the best thing out of both of my boxes was the cinnamon roll. Damn good cinnamon roll must I say but let's talk about the salads. They gave me two salads one in each box of the same kind however one had absolutely no feta cheese and one had like a piece and half they were very very stingy with the feta. They gave me an Italian sandwich for the sandwich box, but for the other box, they gave me half of a super soggy veggie wrap and when I say veggie wrap I mean literally all lettuce and some tomatoes. It was very disappointing. No sauce on the side or anything. I'm just curious how a business like this is supposed to attract more customers when they offer items like that to people that have never even truly heard of their restaurant. Most customers on too good to go to genuinely trying new restaurants and not being cheap and getting a cheaper meal. We just want to try a new places so it was a little bit disappointing that they cut corners this bad to the people genuinely inquiring about the food here. read more

Happened upon this place through Too Good to Go which posted a selection of "Baked Goods" available for a 30-minute window right before closing time. In this case, it was a Saturday between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. Distance-wise I wasn't too far away, but there was traffic on the local roads, and I had to look for parking. I gave the restaurant a call to let them know I was running late. Fortunately, they said they would stick around longer. Literally running after I found a spot to park, I arrived a little past 6:05pm, and from the outside peering in the interior was brightly lit with a classic, almost homely feel. A lady who had just walked out came back in when she noticed me. I told her I had just called, so she went into the kitchen. A few moments later, a man came out with a paper bag of the baked goods. After verifying the order on the app, I was on my way. I received a potato pie, a spinach & cheese pie, and a cheese puff pastry all of which were already down to room temperature. The potato pie was packed with mash and had a rich, buttery taste. The spinach & cheese pie was definitely cheesy in a good way which balanced well with the spinach. Finally, the cheese puff pastry was flaky and also packed the cheesiness. Solid baked goods all around. read more
