Michelle and her colleagues made the experience fun, relaxed, and easy for everyone--even those of us who had little to no painting experience. My oldest has also attended several workshops. The Drawing Studio has truly become a home away from home. The director, staff, and all the instructors are fantastic. And, the best part . . . THE ART. My kids are creating amazing little masterpieces and actually selling some of them. Wow!! Side Note: I noticed a couple of bad reviews. I will not discount their experience as I am not them, but I find it hard to believe based on our three years of extensive workshops, camps, and interactions. I brought my stepdaughter, and we were both really excited for a supportive, welcoming learning experience. Instead, we walked into something completely different. Nan, the instructor, seemed unaware of why new people had been showing up for the past two years. No actual class took place. She briefly walked us around the studio, gave a quick 10-minute demo, and then left us entirely on our own. When we tried to ask questions, she was passive-aggressive, dismissive, and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was clear the environment was geared toward experienced potters, not beginners. The class was supposed to run from 10am to 1pm, but there was no structured instruction at all. Everyone else in the room knew exactly what they were doing, while we were left confused and ignored. For $90 USD, this was incredibly disappointing. My stepdaughter and I had been looking forward to learning -- instead, we felt talked down to, unsupported, and eager to leave. If you're a beginner or hoping for an actual class, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Instead of just slapping paint on the canvas, we went through the process with traditional techniques (research and development, sketching drafts, transferring the enlarged sketch onto the canvas, more research and development for color schemes, perspective, lighting, composition, and we even pulled off fish eye lens camera angle). Everyone I have encountered has been very friendly. There is a small sitting/waiting room where you can watch the ballet sessions if you are just there to observe which is pretty neat. Sometimes it gets a little crowded inside, and even parking can be tough but I've never had to leave on either. They also have some little toys that the other kids can play with. There are two dance rooms and I believe one bathroom. They offer several discounts, including military. We enjoy this studio. Cory is a good teacher.

I have seen major improvements in my daughter's form and in her understanding of movement. My daughter loves going to class. The community there is friendly and welcoming.
