I went into the store tonight to get like 4 things for my great grandfather's birthday party. It was 7:35pm when I entered the store. At about 7:38pm she got on the speaker and announced that the store was closing in 10 minutes. I thought that was odd since Google and their business door states that they close at 8pm....which was over 20 minutes away. She replied with "I must go by the time on the register." Neato ;) I continued shopping and she began following me around the store to tell me that when the register strikes 8pm the store turns into a pumpkin, oh no wait, wrong story, that had a hint of Cinderella....at 8pm the registers turn off and you can't check out or collect money. I'm just going to call it as I see it- BS. No business in the free market says "Let's do this thing where we turn off the customer's ability to pay so that we cannot collect money." Come on, Joanne. This is 2020, get with it. Clocks run off of satellites, no one is going onto the register to set the time manually and businesses aren't causing the registers to shut down right at 8pm (or 7:48pm if we are going based on her wacky timezone). Anyway, the icing on the cake- when I went to check out the register prints the time. I. DIED. This was comical to me. I called her out on it and she switched her story up "it is the time on my computer." Joanne, my dear, I am sure it is...though I seriously doubt your ability to even turn on a computer if we are going off your ability to tell time. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just being honest. I don't put up with lies and a business who employ employees that lie will lose my business forever. Not about it. Unfortunately for the business owner Joanne turned several customers away after she locked the door at 7:45pm. Sad time for Joanne, as I tell the little ones in my life "this was a sad choice."
