Went here the other day for a walk in Wednesday special. It was $19 when we selected one from a…read morepreset list. The hours for the walk in Wednesday were like 10 to 2 or something similar - lunchtime. When we got there, the lady was quite frazzled and seemed a little bit overwhelmed. I think they had a pretty large showing of people. She was super sweet though and excited about walking Wednesday being every day in April. We wanted to go again, but couldn't really find concrete online evidence as to whether it was Wednesday or just that one. Either way, it was a super good deal, and it was kind of fun to have a little lunch date at a very affordable price. The lady working was incredibly helpful and explaining what to do, but also letting us have space. The whole project only took about 30 minutes so it was pretty quick. My partner and I chose the same one because it was simply the coolest offered. They did have a good amount of choices though, and certainly something for everyone was available. After you choose your piece and your sticker, they show you how to apply different paint colors and we went to work. I kind of wish there was a little more involvement because we took our time and it still took only 30-45 minutes. Curious about how this is a BYOB because I would've barely had time to have a drink. Maybe some of the other projects are a bit more involved? it seems like they have some events that happened throughout the week and of course they are famous for parties and I'm sure that probably takes longer to get set up and stuff. Overall, this place is pretty close to town and was totally worth it as a spot to stop. we thought the quality of the products was really high and the guidance was appropriate. Once we finally started working on our own pieces, it felt overcrowded. There were too many people, so not everyone was able to get the help or guidance they needed. The class also felt very rushed. Getting our pieces back took longer than expected, and unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the results. The glaze looked terrible -- the color was inconsistent and uneven. At first, I thought it was just my piece, but everyone in our group had the same issue. My child has done pottery at school before, and their pieces came out beautifully, so I know better results are possible. Overall, it felt like a waste of time in terms of the class itself, but I still enjoyed spending time with my friends.

Sampled one of their teas, Apricot Brandy, and it was amazing! My second visit was for a Japanese culture class. Another wonderful experience shared with many along with delicious tea. First floor is cozy with plenty of nooks to sit and be comfortable. I see patrons working, reading or crafting enjoying a drink or a pastry the establishment offers. You can also purchase loose leaf tea they serve as well as their branded merchandise along with local designers. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and I am looking forward to many more visits to the Philosopher's House.

I ended up visiting four stores, and this one was one of my favorites! This is the biggest yarn store I've ever been in! The service was fantastic, and they had the largest selection of yarn I had ever seen! They also had fiber for spinning yarn, so I purchased fiber that was a blend of wool from a local farmer. I have used some of it in a project I'm working on. I also bought some yarn that had been dyed by the owner. I wish I could have bought more, but I still had more shops to visit and I didn't want to spend too much!
