The selection is a little smaller than the bay city location, but you will still be overwhelmed with options when you go in. The girls were helpful as usual. I also didn't know that they stay open late a few days a week which I thought was kind of cool. When you get there, you don't need to 'check in' with the desk. Find a piece that you like and start to scope out what colors you want to paint said item. Pro tip: the color example tiles are Velcro backed so you can move them around to compare with other tiles. They will also have you stick your name and date on the bottom of the piece. The workers will get you setup with 4 or 5 colors to start. They also have tape, smaller brushes and sponges up at the counter. Once you pick a spot, they come to you with your paint colors. You can refill on your own or have them help you. Your choice. If you run out of time, you can bring your project home with you and visit again another day. Once done, they will have you pay and get your contact info. It takes about a week to get them fired but they call when they are ready.

A reading of the Polar Express , painting a coaster ( great fun w two 1 yr olds) a walk around Rockford to get their ticket punched and grab goodies like sticker books and cookies and then a train ride which the boys wanted to do multiple times due to the fun! (High tables, cramped seating, low movement space) My partner and I stopped in as walk-ins on Saturday around 2pm, fully understanding it would be busy and that there could be a wait. When we entered, there was no signage and no employees directing guests. Like others who walked in, we selected our pottery and sat at an open table. The table was completely clear -- no signage, no tiles, nothing indicating it was reserved. At no point were we informed that the table was reserved or that there was a waitlist. After choosing our colors, we asked an employee to quickly review the instructions. During that interaction, another employee approached and stated the table was reserved. I asked if we needed to move and was told, "No, it's fine, we'll figure it out," and the instructions continued. A few minutes later, after staff were visibly discussing the situation and staring at us, we were told we would need to move because the table was reserved and there was a waitlist. An alternative was offered, but it was not accessible for us, so we declined and left. We were later told that walk-ins are required to check in at the "front desk," which is actually located at the back of the store. This is not stated on the website, and there is no signage in the store explaining this process. We were also told reserved tables are typically marked with tiles -- however, the table we sat at was completely empty and unmarked. By their own stated policy, the process was not followed in this situation. The handling of the situation was disappointing, poorly communicated, and made for an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience
