Oh man! My Girl Scout troop LOVES art beat. Over the past few years Kristel has done 3 different sessions with our troop (as daisies, brownies, and now juniors) and they are always easy to coordinate and amazing. Kristel is great with the kids and they come away with a renewed self confidence in their art and really cool projects that we get to display for years.

Kristel is an amazing teacher and person! Have been to 2 parties with her now, and have enjoyed the experience immensely! She is patient and really breaks each piece down so you don't feel overwhelmed. I highly recommend her classes!

Kristel is so easy and fun to work with. She is prompt in her responses. Very organized. From the initial email inquiry to payment links to a wk prior confirmation to a couple of days prep to same day updates. When we arrived, everything was set up and ready to go. She even had extra materials on hand in case we had extra guests. This place deserves 10 stars!!! We all had so much fun!

We had a Harry Potter themed potions party from Artbeat San Diego for my daughter's 8th birthday. What an amazing experience! Glenda did a wonderful job as the potions instructor, arrived early and was so sweet to my daughter and all of the party goers. The class was an absolute hit. The kids were fully engaged and LOVED when the potion bubbled over the top of their cups! We had lots of gleeful giggles going on. It was so fun and easy to coordinate, I highly recommend Artbeat!

    Boba tea time table!

10/10 birthday party experience! Easy to book with the owner, Kristel, and Miss Lisa was a wonderful art teacher for our daughter's 8th birthday party. She was on time, brought all the paint and boba supplies and did a fantastic job leading the girls through the painting process. We had 12 very happy girls with adorable koala portraits! From the start they loved the boba drinks and were beaming at the end with their finished paintings they got to take home. My daughter proclaimed it "the best birthday party every!" and wants to do it again next year. Thank you Art Beat Studios for a fabulous party!

I was referred by another parent who hired Artbeat at a previous event and I'm very pleased with them. Kristel is very responsive to any questions I had. Zoey was my daughter's birthday party instructor and she was super nice and kept everything tidy and clean. Set up and clean up was very quick. We had 11 kids age ranges from 5-12yrs. They all did a great job with their paintings.

If there is more than 5star, I will give it to Kristel and her team! She is amazing!!!!! her materials are sooo legit! she made everyone listen and follow, from 5yrs old and up my 7th birthday of my Daughter is 100% successful with ArtBeat San Diego! No kids ever stand and run around. Instead, they are all glued and interested with what their doing. I wish your business success. Thank you! Everything went soooo smoothly and perfect! Please! I'm not sugar coating ArtBeat is the one for your child's painting event! Nothing else!

They did an amazing job! Helped design a butterfly picture my daughter really wanted that was appropriate for the age group. Setup/clean-up was all handled seamlessly by them, and kids had fun painting! Would definitely recommend for a fun and interactive party idea!

Kristel and her team are Amazing! They are patient and creative with groups of various sizes. I recently hosted a painting party for 12 ladies ranging from age 40-88. Kristel was so organized and did the set up and clean up of the painting tables. At the end of the 2 hours we each had a nice acrylic painting to take home. There is a lot of flexibility for the host in selecting which type of art to create for your event.

Private paint and sip at our location with instructor Emily! We painted a succulent.

Artbeat hosted a private paint and sip for my friend's bachelorette party. The booking process was seamless, communication was frequent and Emily, our instructor, was fabulous!!! This was an awesome addition to a party and I highly recommend. I also think it's really convenient that they were able to come to the Airbnb we were staying at to host the event. I will definitely be using them again in the future. Thank you again, Kristel and Emily!!

They truly make every visit such a fun and relaxing experience. A special thank you to MJ for going above and beyond. She is one of the sweetest people I've met and generously offered to do a photoshoot for me and my two friends. She even surprised us by making our pottery on the house! It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the entire experience even more memorable Thank you, MJ, for creating such a welcoming space where I've been able to make my Miffy bowl series, with many more pieces to come. As a frequent customer, I'll definitely be back!!

Pottery Painting at The Hot Spot in Liberty Station…read more We took our team of 15 to do pottery painting and it pains me to say that for groups, it was a bit of a let down. I've been here before with a friend and I'd say this location/company does better with smaller groups and not larger groups. I pre-booked our reservation and when we arrived, they had our large table with the paper on it with most things needed except paper towels. The seats felt really close together even with fitting all 15 of us so some had to sit on other tables since it's pretty crammed. For groups over 6 (I believe it was), they charge a 15% service charge and I completely understand and am happy to pay it if a decent experience is provided but it was basically self-service so I'm wondering what should have been included. The employee introduced herself who was "assigned to us" and handed out the cards to put paint on and added our pottery selections to her notepad. That was the extent of her help. I ended up going around to our table asking if anyone needed paper towels (since they weren't provided) or more paint. If our table was a small group, I could see that not being necessary but we were a large group who was paying a premium. The employee didn't come back to check on us as it got close to finishing. I went up to get ready to check out and find out where everyone needs to bring over their pottery and the employee remembered that people should write their initials with a special pencil. It was a bit disorganized and I had higher expectations with what we were paying. Is the service fee just for the extra paper on the tables because the other groups/individuals who didn't "get someone assigned to them" got the same level of service our group did. Our reservation was in the early afternoon and with this July heat, it did get hot. The shop had doors and windows open but 1 small fan in the corner of the room that didn't make much of an impact. I'd suggest more fans because this place makes great margins for what they offer. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this place for a group activity over 6 people. The service isn't worth it for the service fee. You're better off to have the group go in as individuals unfortunately.

The teacher/host was friendly, had good painting tips and guidance, and was very enthusiastic with his work. And dang it, painting is hard! This time it was Starry Night in San Diego. But I went off on a tangent and added a AT-AT, Death Star, Klingon Bird of Prey, a USS Enterprise, Star Destroyer, a Borg Cube, and an Ion Cannon, but no one seems to see that, doh! Unlike the 1st Grade, the teacher did not scold me or give me a "F" for not following instructions. IRONY: We paid $30, but it does not include wine, you still have to buy wine(or whatever) at the venue. Luckily it was still Happy Hour, so I got a beer for only $4. I might have subtracted a star it if it was more expensive, but since they call themselves "Wine and Paint" they should at least include a crappy plastic cup of Charles Shaw or Tisdale. Right? I still had a great time, so I'm going to let that slide... Note: I'm not a single guy, but if you are, this good place to meet girls...the class comprised of about 25 girls, me, and a very bored looking guy dragged here by girlfriend. Just place yourself in strategic spot...you'll have just over 3 hours to turn your small talk into a Facebook Friend Request, or more.

Most important, the evening was really relaxed and enjoyable, Debbie was a great teacher - very low-key and stress-free, but helped everyone create really beautiful "Moonlight Magic" paintings of an Ocean Beach scene she created -- the OB Christmas tree and OB pier under a full moon. I've done a few of these "paint and sip" events now, and I have to say, this one was my favorite! Why? Relaxed vibe. Beautiful original painting to create. Great instruction. Very cool fellow artists. Great venue - the wine at Gianni Buonomo was incredible, and you can buy by the bottle or glass (there were 9 of us, so we opted for the bottle), and you can bring in your own food (we went with pizza and salad from Newport Pizza) or OB Warehouse next door will even deliver. There were probably 20 of us there, from age 11 to folks in their 50s or 60s, and I think it's safe to say we all had a really great time. And on top of that, everyone went home with a beautiful hand-made painting. It was amazing how different they all were, and yet they all looked great. Would definitely recommend Debbie and Creation Magic. Check out their website/Facebook page for upcoming classes. Maybe we'll see you there!
