If I could leave zero stars for this business, I would. Where do I begin? They treated my mother-in-law as if she didn't matter and was an inconvenience...it sickens me. I recommended her to go here after hearing good things but am I disappointed? AMAZING!!! I came in to see Kitsa because I needed a color correction... Desperately!! She was absolutely amazing in every way possible, my hair went from orange/red to platinum blonde and it was more than I could ever wish for after trying to find someone that would take the time to get my hair to the blonde I've always wanted!! My daughter has breast cancer. She lost her hair due to the chemotherapy. We found Kitsa's "Artemis Hair Salon" due to her awesome website. 100% satisfaction guaranteed. I was amazed at Kitsa's warmth and knowledge concerning bald women and the devastation that accompanies it. We paid our $1800 certain that we had found someone who would help us. We were to get a long blonde wig that would be up to my daughter to decide the styling options. We were elated! We got the call that the wig was in. My daughter picked up her wig, and her out-of-town father accompanied her. She was so excited to get hair! Once we got it home, realized it was not as we had been promised. We realized it had been styled, crookedly at that. It didn't fit her head, and kept sliding up to the point that she looked like "garth" from Wayne's world! The initial elation at having her new "garment" quickly turned to tears. The color was wrong, the length was shorter than promised, and it had already been styled crookedly. Kitsa had given us her phone number, her personal cell phone number, and she said she was at our "beck and call' for the next year. I never could get in touch with Kitsa. I left numerous emails, messages, etc. My daughter got progressively sicker as we continued her chemotherapy treatments. Part of her ad says, "We can come to you." I never could get her on the phone to get her to come to us. I rescheduled many appointments with the receptionist. Never did I get to speak to Kitsa. We ended up going to a wig wearhouse. That is when I realized how totally ripped-off we were. We were basically "wig virgins" who believed everything Kitsa said. She gave us NOTHING but grief. She never even measured my daughter's head! I can't wait to see what measurements she shows up in court with!! The lace front had already been trimmed off when we got the wig. We got much better service from a Wig Wearhouse!!! For much less money. We have filed a claim against her in court. I urge you NOT to use her services if you are ill and need help. She talks a big talk, but does NOT walk the walk. As I read Kitsa's statement I can't help but shake my head. Almost 2 years later I still stand by my review. I never altered any garment from Artemis. If anyone has gone through chemotherapy they know that you are sick, not only sick but bald. The last thing that was on my mind was altering the terrible work Kitsa did. I was very sick and could only wish I had the energy to shop my garment around to be repaired after paying $1800.00+ for it. There are too many excellent places in Houston that do not charge and arm and a leg for a wig and follow up services, and still look very real. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I was very pleased with my garment experience.  Kitsa, the hair stylist, has a passion for helping women with hair loss due to cancer. She has helped women like me for the past 8 years. She made me feel comfortable and had tissues on hand when my mom and I needed them. Hair loss due to cancer treatment is an emotional experience and Kitsa was very supportive and comforting every step of the way. My mom and I went to Artemis Hair Studio to get my hair cut and wig fitted.  Kitsa cut my hair first while it was in a ponytail so that I could donate it to Children with Hair Loss. Next, Kitsa cut my hair really short, so that the garment would fit over my head. The garment fitting went well. My garment is made from real hair and the color of my garment was perfect. When I saw my garment a few weeks ago it had a red color to it, but Kitsa gladly fixed it. She fit the garment onto my head and showed me how to place the garment on my head according to where the tape was placed. She also added layers to my garment.  Also, she styled the garment with a round brush. Melissa and Leonard work at the front desk and very welcoming. Melissa is very prompt in answering my emails when I have questions. I was having a difficult time with the garment staying on, so I made another appointment and Kimberly was more than happy to help me by adding clips to help my garment stay in place. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and was given their info at my oncologist's office. I called and made an appointment and told them my drive in was more than 2 hours and I would be losing my hair in the next few days. I was told not to worry, "everything will be ok " I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early and no one was there. I sat in my car and waited for one hour and no one showed up. After crying my eyes out, I was lucky to find another wig store not to far away and the helped me. I would never send anyone to this place, not even my worst enemy. When I called and talked to the manager, Kitsa, she was rude and made me feel as though it was my fault. This place does not deliver what they say they can. AVOID them, they are not nice. read more

Several months ago I sent a dear friend of mine to Houston, because she has Lupus and Alopecia, and because of this her hair was falling out and becoming worse, as she was getting sicker. It is tough when you see this happening to a friend that you love and care for. Anyways, she had a consultation and then later a top-notch, quality hairpiece was provided for her. She is extremely happy with the service she received, and she looks like the girl she was before. She is totally transformed to her previous self. I can see it and hear it in her conversation on the telephone and in person. If you have hair loss male or female this is the place to go. You will be treated with the utmost respect and care, and more importantly, it is totally private. She asked me to log on to Yelp for her and write this because she was having a hard time logging on, and she was embarrassed for anybody to know she was experiencing hair loss in the first place. I am a physician whom could have easily referred my chemo pts to Kitza, but after my experience that certainly will never happen. Kitza is a nice person, but did not listen to how I wanted my wig hair cut & colored. I even brought a synthetic wig that was colored & cut like I wanted & she did not come near that.
