We talked and I sent him our receipts and photo of the Canadel sticker under the table. He sent Jee to our home and by yesterday it was fixed! Jee had to come back with another young man, so this was a two day adventure BTW. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us! As new owners, I feared you'd tell me sorry, but no, you did not. This table was bought Nov. 2019, and the previous owners sent someone out May 2022, leaving replacement rails in case what he did didn't fix it. Now hopefully it has been rectified properly. What drew me into Steeling Home from my walk was an on sale desk fan that was displayed outside on a cute antique table. The price was right, but I knew darn well that it would be hard to get it in the suitcase for my eventual trip back to the San Francisco Bay Area. I might still change my mind on that.... Anyway, I decided to stroll around inside and really enjoyed exploring the many pockets of interesting stuff this relatively small store holds. It has books, antiques, jewelery, and much more in-between. The people watching was fun too, with a fresh touch of Portlandia thrown in. I'm glad I stopped in and reminded myself that marching around a new City is fun, and stopping to explore some of its quirks is even better.

I mean, this is sexy furniture. Very sparse and simple, but elegant. Definitely a "look" that big box stores like IKEA (and Nood down the street) shamefully rip off. It's pricey, but it's designer, and the pieces are built to last. The staff ain't great sometimes, but it's a good store to have in the city.

We have purchased some amazing plant arrangements in the past - but today we couldn't figure out what we wanted for a table we had just bought. We described the table and purpose to Jane Brown. Designer at the store. Jane showed us some vase and flower options and then designed and built the perfect arrangement just for us. She helped us put something together that is absolutely perfect for our space. We couldn't have done it without her help. Thank you !

With SO much to look at and so many unique home objects and accessories, I didn't know where to look first! Everything is compacted together so you have to move through the store slowly to ensure that you don't overlook any of the neat gizmos or gadgets. The items in the store are quite pricey however, but because they are so unique and because this was one of the only stores in the entire complex that carried stuff that I hadn't already seen in its neighbouring stores, I found this store to be especially refreshing. They had some wall pictures that we looked at few times and were hoping to go onsale. Luckily last night we were on their website and found the same pictures (Org. $390-$450) for $114 & $119. today we went to the store but they did not honour that price; instead, we were offered 10%...Basically they told me to FxxxOxx, in a polite way. From there i went to Lazyboy and found the same picture and guess what: THEY GAVE ME THE PAINTING FOR THE SAME ADVERTISED PRICE. (As advertised on home-evolution website). My wife and I, and my mom, spent almost over 20K in these stores in the last 6 months and after hearing this coming from the manager/Owner's daughter that they would only give us 10%; I ONLY WOULD LIKE TO QUESTION THEIR COMPANY's INTEGRITY. Today, they might have saved 400-500 from 3 pictures, but i can assure you they have lost thousands of dollars from us. My one Message to them: YOU HONOUR WHAT YOU ADVERTISE, THATS I!!! My ratings have gone DOWN due to this.

Especially in my developed basement. It has many windows, but there is just not enough light in the common areas, until all the lights are on. In an effort to brighten the place up a bit, I was referred to the Home Improvement Warehouse Ltd. What a cool, COOL place! The service that was recommended to me, was to bring some of my doors in (not a bathroom door of course!!) and to cut out the middles and put in frosted glass, so that the light from my windows can be enjoyed from my office and a few other key places. The short story, is I did not even know a service like this existed! Like a fool, I would have bought a new door! So I had some help uninstalling my doors and bringing them in, and now at a reasonable rate, Home Improvement Warehouse will leave a wood border, and fill in the rest with a frosted glass, so that the light may shine! This isnt all these folks do! I bought some primer at $40 a gallon elsewhere, and found the same primer there at $26.99 (doh!). They have all kinds of gadgets and gismos for home improvements and renovations. I saw supplies and layouts for all kinds of bathroom and kitchen renos as well. Definately if you are taking on a home improvement project in Calgary, pop in here and see what they have. The prices and selections at this warehouse of handiness look pretty good to me!

When I went to complain to the owner I thought he might be somewhat conciliatory, maybe even apologetic and reassuring. I started off being quite reasonable, but was fairly surprised and taken aback when he was belligerent, aggressive and swore at my wife and I. He was actually fairly physically intimidating and told me that he "didn't have time for this %$^& ( I won't use his language) , and he was "done with me." Which is interesting since he had thousands of dollars of my money and I had bare sub-floors in my house. Nice. He hung up on me on several occasions after that, and gave me several opportunities to sample his impressive and extensive collection of profanity. They finally showed up to finish the job (like they were doing me a huge favour) but every time I look at my crappy hardwood floors I curse and wish I'd used another business. I have gaping gaps between the boards that you could stick a loonie in - even though Home Improvement Warehouse did the installation, and despite my top of the line humidifier. Cheap product + brutal unprofessional service = shoddy results. Take my advice and stick to reputable companies, with a proven track-record of service. If I can save one of you from going through what I did, I'll be happy. Don't shop here.
