Took our teenage driving car (its shared) here to get a bumper reattached that one of our teens had dragged over a cement parking block one too many times. We got it zip tied pretty securely but wanted a proper fix, so Artiagas is where we came for a same day quote. I called ahead. The guy who helped us was quick and efficient and friendly. They ended up being booked out the whole following week, so we scheduled for the following Monday (so about a week and a day). I didnt mind because of the friendly service, the quote seemingly reasonable, and the car still being drivable in the mean time. We dropped the car off in the AM Monday and had it back Tuesday late afternoon. There was a short delay due to waiting on a part I guess! The car was fixed beautifully (well, as beautiful as a non replaced reattached bumper on an old teenage car can be...) and the quote was right on target with what we ended up having to pay. What an incredible blessing it was to find these guys after my step-son had an accident on the I-5 near Bakersfield. We live in San Jose so finding a shop we could trust was huge. From the very get-go Reuben and his team exhibited confidence and professionalism. They even went out of the way to take receipt of the vehicle under unusual circumstances. It's a long story, but my insurance company was being difficult and didn't want to tow the car the extra 3 miles (outside of the 20 mile radius) but Artiagas was like, "we got this"! They picked the car up, communicated with me clearly throughout the insurance debacle, kept me updated during the rebuild, they took special notice of the distance I had to travel to pick up the vehicle (over 200 miles) and took extra measures to make sure the work was 100% on point. They test drove the vehicle and reviewed their work to make sure it was all good. They also reassured me that the damage was purely cosmetic and that no mechanical issues were found. Reuben was extra helpful with pickup logistics as well, since I had to do it on the weekend. When I got to their shop, I was immediately impressed by the immaculate grounds surrounding the shop. The car was prepped for me, clean inside and out and quite frankly, it was like the car just coming off the dealer lot for a second time. Horrible experience here, said they would repair a crack in my bmw e46 chassis and reinforce it with a kit I brought them, after 10 months of poor communication they slapped a part on it I had to supply them with because they can't get parts obviously either and call me and say it's done! We'll my parts were still sitting in the front seat never said they wouldn't be doing it to me they outsourced the little bit of work that was done to another shop and never told me they were doing that, the car rotted and in their yard and is in worse shape than I brought it, the paint is all faded now the trim and worst of all they left the back window down in the rain and when I pull the back seat up it was covered in nasty mold!!! They were very unprofessional fed us lies the whole time we should've jus pulled the car out and went to a real shop that is capable of more than fixing little scratches, I feel totally scammed by artiagas and now I'm still in the same boat a year later and they still took my $1000 without telling me half of the job wasn't completed at all I am totally furious and would never let this shop even look at another one of my cars ever ever again read more

Please read all the way to the end...there is an update..... I really like Ruben--seems like a good guy. However, one of the most frustrating things for me is when you trust someone with your business and they don't keep you informed of progress. A phone call or two from the shop to let you know when you can expect your vehicle to be completed is a must if you pride yourself on customer service. This did not happen for me. According to my insurance estimate, my repair should have taken 17 days. I don't know if these estimates are "working" days or not, so even if you include weekends, that's 25 days. My rental coverage was for 30 days. During my first call to check on status after 2 1/2 weeks, Ruben told me they found some additional damage and that they were waiting for my insurance to go and approve the additional work. After 3 1/2 weeks I called again to check on status and I was told the estimator had approved the work and that they were just waiting for one last part and to do a final cleanup. After 4 weeks, I was again told the same thing. Finally, I literally had to call him and tell him that I was dropping off my rental on day 30 and would be there at noon to wait for the car. To his credit, lo and behold, the car was waiting for me. I could tell that the last bit of door gasket work was done haphazardly at the last minute because the car interior reeked of adhesive odor, which has since gone away. Ruben told me at that time that my insurance estimator took 4 days to see the additional damage and cut the check. Not sure if the 4 days included the weekend, but whatever. So, I was willing give him the benefit of the doubt and let this go because my car was finally finished no harm no foul. That is, until the other insurance that was paying for the rental cost above my insurance coverage told me that they would not reimburse me for the full amount essentially because the repair took longer than it should have. I am out of pocket for this experience $36 and change, which really isn't that much in the grand scheme of things but is just annoying when, not once, did I receive a call from Ruben. All communication was initiated by me. Ruben, you're a nice guy and seems like you try to run a good business but give your customers the common courtesy of a completion date and if you're not going to hit it, let them know. It would have been good to know that my insurance was slow responding--I could have done something about that. Instead, you held on my car too long and I paid for it. Update: Ruben contacted me about my experience, promised to work on communication and made me financially whole for my trouble. They more than made up for my experience. I fully recommend them and endorse their work. I will use them in the future. Thanks! read more
