I'm not really a steakhouse gal, but was excited to try out Artis during CLE Gals Bookclub silent reading night. Silent reading at a steakhouse sounds like a dream, and it was! I rarely rave about dining experiences, but Artis deserves all the praise! AMBIANCE: The restaurant has a clean, minimalistic, bright, and airy aesthetic. Minimalistic tropical decor adorns the walls. It's a refreshing departure from your regular steakhouse vibes. The restaurant has a main dining room and bar as you enter with predominance of soft pastels. The restaurant has a back dining room with deep blue walls. The space has subtle Miami vibes. The restaurant is a good fit for large groups, couples, and singles. FOOD/DRINKS: The food is globally inspired and expertly prepared. Flavors include Middle Eastern, Asian, and Latin inspirations. The menu is organized with innovative categories - now, in a while, soon, worth the wait, and on the side. Now are snack arriving in 10-ish minutes. Soons are small plates arriving in 20-ish minutes. In a while's are heartier plates arriving in 30-ish minutes. Worth the Wait are entree plates arriving in 45-60 minutes. On the sides are side dishes. In my experience, the dishes arrived much faster even considering that we took over the entire restaurant with a large group. My order included Citrus Braised Beets (soon menu item) and Moroccan Spiced Meatballs (in a while menu item). Citrus Braised Beets ($15) is a dish with golden beets and tropical flavors like dried kiwi making for a very innovative dish. It's a light and delicious salad that tastes like a tropical vacation. Moroccan Spiced Meatballs ($22) were the best tasting meatballs of my life, and I've had A LOT of meatballs. The meat tasted especially high grade and tender. Tomato sauce was perfectly balanced and not acidic. Grilled bread wasn't overly dry like at other restaurants, was easy to bite into. I also spotted many other dishes ordered during our event. Baked 9YR Cheddar Mac and Whole Roasted Cauliflower looked especially impressive. Cauliflower was huge! As far as the drinks, house cocktails, wine, beer, martinis, bourbon, scotch, tequila, and zero proof cocktails are on the menu. In other words, something for everyone. I tried special event mocktail "For Lenore" ($8) with blood orange and soda. The cocktail was delicate and tasty. Gals at my table ordered various cocktails and all were very happy! SERVICE: The service at Artis is impressive. The staff immediately greets you, checks in your coat, and is highly involved in your dining experience. The world here revolves around customers. The staff checks on every guest as if they are the only guest in a crowded room. The servers are very polite and attentive. You feel seen and all your needs are addressed. Staff walks around the dining room to make sure that everyone is having a top notch experience, all plates are cleared, and all glasses are immediately food. I haven't seen anything like it in Cleveland area. First class experience! PARKING: While there is no dedicated parking lot, there is city parking between Artis and Spellbound. This area in Lakewood has plenty of street parking. The entire experience at Artis was remarkable. Expertly crafted food and mocktail, top notch service, and atmosphere. A great dining experience made even better with outstanding service with Dane. We made reservations, highly recommend on a Friday night, for two and we're seated upon arrival. Our server Dane, was fantastic, giving tips on what to try or avoid. The menu looked incredible, fresh with an Asian and Mediterranean flair but we opted for the Chefs Tasting Menu, well worth it. We were presented with the lobster bisque soup noodle as our first course. So much flavor, literally bursting with sherry and lobster chunks. Our second course was the appetizer platter with fresh made naan. The eggplant was Smokey and delicious, I could eaten just that and been happy...good thing I didn't. The hummus was a hit, as were the olives, and goat cheese. Next, yes there is more, we had a tasting of seated tuna with crispy rice. Our next course was a small pallet cleanser, the perfect scoop of raspberry sorbet, it was rich and decadent. For our main course(s) my husband chose the grilled hanger steak with a citrus chimichuri, he loved it, they cut for presentation so you can share with the table. I opted for the tuna, it was so good as a tasting plate that I wanted a full plate! The tuna was cooked perfectly, and the sticky rice added the perfect texture to the buttery soft tuna. As much as I wanted dessert, I wax too stuffed, an espresso was all we could manage. We will be back to try the other half of the menu and definitely desserts!! This place is outstanding. We went tonight for an anniversary dinner. Everything was perfect. The service. The ambiance . But above all, the food! We started with two house specialty drinks that were just delicious and not overpriced. We had a hummus tahini. That was the best hummus we've ever had. I'm not kidding. It was served with warm pita, and if I had three more pieces of pita I wouldn't have ordered dinner. It was that good. We shared the New York strip steak with mushrooms and a fried baked potato. Everything was perfectly cooked. This place is a gem. Really need to visit if you want good food in the city of Lakewood, or for that matter anywhere in northeast Ohio. So happy I returned for another dinner because the second time is so much better! The lamb hummus and stickie toffee cake is a must. The flavor was strong for the lamb and meshed perfectly with the creamy hummus. The toffee cake was ooooey gooey delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness and the hot with the cold ice cream was perfect. The broccoli had fantastic chair. Caesar shredded salad with anchovy and Brussels sprouts was very flavorful and I loved the textural differences between the ingredients. The bulgogi broccoli was nothing at all bulgogi related and should be renamed bonito broccoli for the umami fish flakes atop the roasted broccoli all on a bed of purple sweet potato purée. Very flavorful but kinda sad there weren't any bulgogi flavors which I love. Unique nonetheless. Nice espresso martini to boot. The Moroccan spiced meatballs were pretty good. Strong feta, tomato sauce, lamb? Flavors. Small dish, soft small meatballs, definitely a good sharing plate. Forgot to add that the pumpkin head drink is a spicy pumpkin marg! The foam is everything. Wow! What an experience! In searching for a place we've yet to try we landed here. So very happy we did! It's has a great vibe where it's casual but kinda fancy. Our server Dane, was fantastic ! The menu has a wide variety of differently creative things on it. We ended up doing the chefs tasting menu. The Lobster bisque dumpling was . Then followed up by the app sampler of different types of charcuterie dips like dill hummus , citrus marinated olives, Smokey eggplant , and pickled cauliflower. Next followed a broiled Ahi Tuna. What a lovely new restaurant here in Lakewood! The staff is so kind and ready to help when you have questions (or drop silverware ) Then menu has many options and there are special for holidays! We enjoy our brunch here today for Father's Day 2025 and my dad got the Lamb Shakahuka (special) and I got the regular chefs choice steak and eggs! Both were prepared & plated up so well! I got my steak medium and it was delicious!! The chimichurri sauce completed the dish and tasted perfect! My dad's dish was also yummy! He's a hard one to impress and he loved his dish!! I'll start by saying, I WILL come back for the pulled lamb hummus, the lobster bisque soup dumplings, the NY strip and the pistachio grasshopper (drink on the dessert menu). All of those items, which made up 3 of 6 dishes we ordered were exceptional. The soup dumplings are cool - don't skip the sauce. Why NOT put the king of soups in a dumpling? I could eat an order myself. The lamb hummus is super lemony, so fair warning if lemon's not your thing (it's my thing). The lamb was tender and the dill was a perfect touch. I enjoyed the steak very much. We ordered medium rare and I will say it was more on the rare side, but even my friend who is more likely to trend medium said the texture didn't throw her. It was very flavorful. We ordered a side of the scallion chimi sauce and it was a nice compliment. Don't skip the drinks on the dessert menu. All four sounded amazing and interesting and we tried three. All were good but the pistachio grasshopper was the standout. I'll drink my dessert all day! We also had the feta (good), the duck confit pierogi (skip) and the salmon cakes (good, but ask for extra sauce). My first drink was an Autumn in Jalisco, a fall take on a Paloma that was really nice. I will also come back to see if they've remedied the aesthetic issues as they said they plan to. We noticed immediately that the lighting was a bit stark and learned there were issues with how the electric was installed so that they weren't able to be on dimmers as anticipated. Our server volunteered the noisiness on his own (which didn't particularly bother us - we might be loud) and said that was also going to be addressed with sound panels soon. Overall, sounds like they're more than aware of these downsides and taking steps to fix them. The service was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated their candor when answering our questions about the ambiance. I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality, or at least not shocking. We came in for happy hour and everything was delicious! The lobster bisque soup dumplings were incredible and came with sherry to drop on the dumplings. It definitely helped balance the saltiness of the bisque! The Kimchi Fried Rice has house made kimchi in it and had the perfect amount of spice. We had to force ourselves to stop eating it to save room for other items! Their Happy Hour menu was amazing, everything on it was $8! Very cute date spot with a cute modern aesthetic. Eclectic... That is the word that comes to mind when I think about Artis. But somehow that doesn't do it justice. As you travel down Detroit Ave. and Artis comes into view you realize immediately your in for an unusual experience. You can't miss that bright yellow building standing out among it's surroundings. When you enter you observe right away the crowd, the noise, the excitement, the energy. It's a different kind of experience. As you read through the menu you will recognize all the food names and ingredients. But hold on to your hat. You've never experienced them combined like this... WoW! Pretty much everything is a "to share" plate. So order lots of everything; especially the things you're not sure of. I guarantee you will be very pleasantly surprised. Noise...? Yes there is lots of noise... maybe too much (definitely too much). But resign yourself to deal with it. It's definitely worth it. What can I say... Just GO! You'll love it. read more

This service transitioned to our server (Dane) and all the food came out timely and appropriately. The drinks were great, I really enjoyed the dirty martini (blue cheese olives) and an old fashioned. The table enjoyed the Labneh with olive oil and flatbread (we ordered a second serving), the lobster bisque soup dumplings (modern and on point), and everyone ordered a different steak which was cooked to perfection. My friend and I went there last night for my birthday. The food was amazing!! Everything we ordered was just delicious. Meals were paced out perfectly in between. All the plates were a good portion for the shareable experience. We ordered first was the tuna crostini and the lamb hummus. Both by far amazing! The hummus was the best hummus I have ever had!! (Side note. The chef came over and told us that there is this wrap on HH during the week, we will def be back for it!) Second was the zucchini plate on top of a ricotta puree. Amazing! Not sure how he cooked it, but it was crisp and delightful! Then we had this fried Idaho potato! literally the biggest potato I have ever seen. Topped with a feta, chives and creme fraise, sided with a homemade sriracha. Just yum!!! Then finally, aged and cooked to perfection, a hangar steak. sliced for sharing with a salad on the side. It was amazing! The chef did a great job on presentations, food, and that steak is to die for! Also didn't mention on yummy the cocktail menu is!!! 5/5 would visit again to try more items! Cannot say enough about this new restaurant....Lakewood is lucky to get this beautifully curated restaurant which gives you the vibe of being in Chicago or Scottsdale. First of all, the management is so friendly and accommodating. The menu is very unique and interesting, and even with two vegetarians in our group of 6, we found plenty to eat. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the salads, to the Brussel sprouts and carrots, to the hummus, flat breads, steaks, fried baked potato, scallops, tuna and desserts. The drinks were beautifully presented and very good. Ordering the many different items lent itself to a wonderfully communal dinner, in which we shared many items and were able to try lots of different menu items. This is a casual, upscale restaurant in a very modern, artsy environment. Yes, it is loud, but it is vibrant, fun and a very happy place to be. Having the different items come out at different times, worked out perfectly, so we could enjoy sharing and lots of good conversation. The Cleveland area generally is lacking in restaurants of this caliber and ambiance. The service was excellent which made the evening perfect in every way. We shared two steaks (a filet and strip), lobster bisque (5 delicious dumplings!), Moroccan meatballs and a fried baked potato. There's a lovely vibe to this neighborhood bistro. I just wish the food lived up to the charm. My spicy cucumbers were a bit rubbery and had an unidentifiable acid on them that I assume was lemon juice. These would have been better cold and firm. My Mac and cheese had depth of flavor but needed salt and more cheese, for my taste. And I have no idea what the shredded phyllo was doing on top. It was messy and as it sat in the hot pasta, it became very chewy, not a texture you want on a Mac and cheese. The mint lemonade was mostly very tart lemonade with little mint taste. The gal working at the bar didn't smile and could have done a little more to make me feel welcome. Good luck to them but I can't say I was inspired to return. read more

Loved the concept - sharing plates that come out in a sequence. We had deviled eggs, the broccoli, short ribs, fried baked potato, and strip steak. Everything came out in a timely manner, despite the crowd, which was great because we were heading to see a play at Beck Center. Every single one of the foods was delicious - my favorite was the broccoli served perfectly al dente (because of the crumble and sauce on top.) Service was attentive and friendly. The only reason I am giving this restaurant four is because of the noise factor, which others have cited as well. It's pricey too. If it were possible on yelp, I probably would give it a 4.5. Check this place out - it's worth a visit and may even become one of your favorite spots. read more

Artis is a unique new place in western Lakewood. As suggested, we ordered items from each of the first 3 sections of the menu (skipping the steak), and as promised the items came out 2 at a time for us to share. Everything we had -- the eggplant dip, the hot & cold Caesar, the Brussels sprouts, the scallops and the Korean short ribs -- was very good to oustanding. The Brussels sprouts and the eggplant were the true stars. The only real 'negatives' to our dining experience were the extreme noise level [so loud we sometimes couldn't hear our server] and the steep prices. As an example, 3 scallops for $35 seems a bit much, although they were excellent. The prices are the only thing that would give me pause about returning. Food-wise, it is top notch! read more

I absolutely loved my first time at Artis the food was exceptional. The service was amazing. We were treated like family. It was my friend's birthday and my birthday and it was a wonderful way to celebrate. It definitely is pricey no doubt, but we felt like we needed to try so much of the menu. The steak was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We tried the scallops add a bunch of sides, including the brussels sprouts, add the lobster bisque dumplings, which were a huge hit. Definitely make a point to visit this lovely restaurant in Lakewood. The chef came out and was absolutely lovely and we enjoyed his stories about how he created the lobster biscuit dumpling, which I have never seen before. It really was a unique take on one of my favorite soups. I've been here twice now and I so badly want to rate it higher but it just has too many improvements to be made. The portion sizes and servings are so inconsistent. We got the lamb hummus both times, the first time had an amazing portion of lamb and the second barely had one to the point we couldn't even share it. The duck pierogi was almost inedible. But the cheddar Mac and the broccoli were amazing! Such an inconsistent place so it's just ultimately not worth it to me. I hope they tighten it up a little because the potential is high! read more

We were told now would come almost right away and worth the wait is usually about 45 minutes. We ordered cocktails which were delicious and then the lamb hummus, fried potato, Korean short rib, and scallops. They ask you order all at once. My only complaint was that the food came out all before we even finished our drinks. It was an early dinner and restaurant was slow at the time. For a fine dining, and not cheap dinner I will say we felt a little bit rushed. The potato was nothing special. The scallops were our favorite thing on the menu. Overall a good experience. read more

Artis did everything I could have hoped they'd do. The food was awesome. Roasted beet salad (unique and very well composed), shakshuka (rich and deep), apple waffle (sweet and plentiful), biscuit (buttery and tender), and roasted potatoes (simple and satisfying). Additionally, the environment was great, service was beyond attentive from the door to the table and back out the door. The portions aren't comparable to Cheesecake Factory, so if that's your thing, go to Crocker and knock yourself out. But if you're looking to try a newer establishment, who is putting out high quality food in a way that they can manage their margins and still provide a great experience, try Artis.
