The place was very upscale and stylish. Food was excellent! Service a little slow . Was definitely quite loud during happy hour.

I had gotten a gift certificate for Christmas here and I was excited to try it. We went during the week. So I can't speak to how busy it gets on the weekends, but we had a great waiter who went over the menu & specials and had some great recommendations - which I appreciated since neither one of us had been there before. I went with the pasta special and it was wonderful! I'm not a beef eater but the steak was cooked perfectly and got rave reviews. It's a really nice place and the food was delicious. I just returned from taking my parents out for dinner. My mom said she always wanted to try Veranda and here is the verdict. We all had the soup of the day, stuffed cabbage, to start. Good taste but just warm not hot. I wanted a mix of happy hour bites and regular menu to try out. My pear salad was nice but the dried cranberries were in clumps like right out of the bag and had to break them up. My Kobe sliders off the happy hour menu were meh nothing notable. The truffle fries off the happy hour menu again just ok. Now my parents ordered the chicken picatta and the cod. Wow these two dishes were beyond salty and the chicken was very dry! Period ! Something went sideways in the kitchen tonight. This was really a letdown for us because unless you've been here, this is a gem a real diamond in the rough. If the kitchen was on point you'd never get a reservation here. The space is fantastic with a great patio and bar area. The inside is excellent and the all the staff we came in contact with were great. When you walk into a space like this you think this is going to be a good night. However the proof is in the pudding and on this our first visit...pudding would have been better. This place is too nice of a spot not to give a second chance! read more

This is the place to go if you're having a group party or get together. The private room is fabulous. The buffet is delicious and the staff are helpful and welcoming. Came here for a reception with my company. There was two salads, pierogies, buffalo wings, calamari, french fries, sliders and pizzas. I just had the pierogies and buffalo wings. The salad and pierogies were good, but the buffalo wings did not have any sauce on them. You had to put the sauce and then dip it in blue cheese as well, which was a little strange to me. They have an outdoor patio area where we were standing and an indoor area as well. Can't speak much on the ambience. It was fine. Nothing great and nothing terrible. And the service as in refilling the food, and keeping the area clean and having the bar stocked was well done. Wouldn't recommend the place as being great but if you want a decent mail, it's fine. read more

I should have taken a picture of all of our food, but I was enjoying it too much to do so. The food is just fabulous. We had appetizers, two in our party had salads, we each enjoyed an entree and we all had food left over for dinner for tonight (and maybe even tomorrow night). The seafood pasta was delicious and loaded with shrimp, mussels, calamari in a lovely sauce. The cornish game hen must have been born near Chernobyl since it was the size of a chicken (I am making a Chicken casserole with what I had left). The hen was tender and seasoned perfectly and, again huge! The "garden" salad and wedge salad could have served all of us. Our server was wonderfully attentive and explained the various dishes. When asked, she was quick to provide in put and qualified her suggestion with the reason why. The restaurant is clean and cozy. The parking lot is huge but no parking spot is overly far from the door. The biggest complaint was that our table was too small for all the food we had!! read more

Always a positive first, the happy hour bar prices are fantastic! I ordered the bolganese, it was so sloppy, the balance of sauce to pasta was ridiculous. The noodles (fettuccine) were all broken it may as well have been macaroni. My friend ordered the parmesean chicken, I won't give a full review in all fairness but I did have 2 bites it was very over cooked and tough. We went there last night, first time customer. The place is very nice with excellent patio seating. I took my 93 year old brother in law to eat there. He wanted to take a lunch menu home because in the senior housing where he lives they coordinate a luncheon every week and he wanted the menu for the luncheon coordinator. So he asked the waitress if he could have a menu she snapped at him saying we don't have enough of these as it is ... I let it slide, but she could see i wasn't happy over her reply. So I ask is there a paper version he can have? Yes out at the hostess stand she replied. After eating I took my BIL out to the outside host stand and he asked the host if he could have a lunch menu to take home. Out of nowhere the waitress that waited on us appeared and shouted he can't have that!! Inside she said he could have a paper menu which he asked for. No she reply's. At this point I was not pleased with the way the waitress was treating a 93 year old who is not demanding anything. He's polite & quiet. If I had my senses at the time I would have returned inside and removed her tip from my bill. Now 2 things have happened...you lost potential lunch group from ever going there & as for me personally I will never go back. Date night at @verandabistrobar in Westlake. Great service from our server Jackie who made several food recommendations. First time visit. The patio is not to be missed. Shady and comfortable. We hit the happy hour food menu pretty hard. We got the herbed goat cheese, , pears organic honey on a toasted baguette. Subtle and good. The Kobe beef sliders were the right size for our appetite. The Hungarian peppers stuff with veal and pork with Asiago cheese and balsamic drizzle served with marinara had the right bite and they were huge. @jillrn_17 got the fresh French onion soup which was a best bite. I got a salad I didn't have room for ( lunch tomorrow ) and Jill's whimsical drink was a Banana's Foster that had a banana liqueur, rye whiskey , homemade banana syrup and almond bitters. I fell down some stairs at my nephews funeral reception at the restaurant. Matt, the manager, who claims to provide excellent customer service, did not even ask me if I was hurt. Instead, he told my husband to get me out of there.. that i was effecting his business. Matt even went after my husband & another guy had to stop him! I wasn't doing a thing but sitting on a bench quietly until my husband & I left. I have contacted him repeatedly to file an incident report. My husband has also contacted him. He just continues to ignore us while my foot was broken in 3 places! It is unlawful for him to refuse to file the report & provide the name of his insurance company. I can't believe the heartless way he treated us... he wasn't concerned about me at all? Wouldn't that be the first thing you'd do?... check to see how I was or if I needed immediate medical attention? Due to these facts, I'll be contacting an attorney soon if he doesn't respond asap. Went to Veranda with a group of 16 and it was a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Gianna, was so patient with this loud, demanding group of aging siblings. We had about 8 separate checks and she got it perfect. Food was very good. We were greeted warmly, served with a smile, and all around had a fabulous time. I took a friend here for the first time on 9/1/23 and joked to the server (Jackie C) that I had been raving about the place so please don't let it suck - well it certainly didn't. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess it was as if we were their most important guests. We were asked if we wanted to be seated inside or on the Veranda, of course we picked outdoors, not much of that left in Ohio this year. Martini was dry, you'd be surprised how hard it is to get that right, server was attentive, food was excellent, and it could not have been a better evening to dine outside. Normally I'm not a fan of chunky marinara, but it was excellent on the veal parm. One of the guys from the kitchen (Matt, who actually is the managing partner) checked in with us to make sure everything was up to standards, and I only later found out who he was. Jackie even brought us a slice of carrot cake as a finishing touch. RESERVATIONS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Casual dress, but they still let me in dressed to the nines. read more

The hostess was not happy with us when we asked to be moved to a table further away from the music so we could talk. We will never go back and pass that on. I've been passing by this place for almost 3 years and out of curiosity took my wife to a date at this place last night. People was very welcoming. Place is beautiful. We order soup and the day special. Steak was extremely delicious, soup and the service was fantastic. We also order a bottle of wine, which they didn't had at the moment and they gave us another one for the price of the one they didn't have. Wine was perfect. Went there with three other people on a Saturday night. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. I found it very odd that they were out of many of the drinks on their drink menu at 6pm on a Saturday. I got pretzel crusted chicken and my wife got the Cornish hen. My chicken was kind of underwhelming compared to some other places I've had the dish. The Cornish hen was very good and perfectly cooked. We had several drinks that seemed ok nothing I would need to try again. Overall I'd say there was some things to like and dislike about the experience. We got out of there with about $170 bill I do think when you get to that level there are plenty of better places to go. The scene is great and the staff was excellent. Excellent experience on a Friday night. If you want to sit at the bar though you have to arrive by 4:00 or 4:30 has it got crowded very quickly. Was there with 3 of my girlfriends. This was their first , I have been to your restaurant twice before( and had a very good experience) we meet once a month and they suggested The Veranda. Our waiter Lucas was very professional and friendly. He didn't hover but was available. Everyone enjoy their dishes. I had the crab cakes( which were very good and the Italian salad, which was much bigger than expected. Would have been been nice if it came as a half order like your other salads. Other than that it was also very good. My one friend had the Ahi Tuna. Which she throughly enjoyed. Our other two friends had the calamari and wings. They also enjoyed throughly. While I'm not their best customer, I've been there a few times and every time I go I'm treated like a VIP . Service is good, the food is good, and I would like to go there more often but there are so many good restaurants in this area that I kind of have to pick and choose. On my last visit I joked with the server that I have been bragging on them and I hope this was not going to be the one night they suck well it wasn't they even brought us free dessert. Some guy from the kitchen, who I later found out was the managing partner, popped out and wanted to know if everything was satisfactory. We had an amazing waitress name Tana who was super attentive and made sure our meal was nothing but delicious and enjoyable. My friend and I had a girls night there and loved the atmosphere! It was comfortable and welcoming and you felt fancy without having to dress or pay the fancy price. All the food tasted delicious...I was on a diet where I can't eat much and was worried the menu couldn't accommodate, but it was very easy to adjust some of the items on a menu to make the diet work.
