Always a nice place to frequent for events -- it's a beautiful venue. I recently attended the Clarksdale Blues event in the Daniels Pavilion, and there really isn't a bad seat in the building. The layout allows for great views from just about anywhere, which makes the experience enjoyable. One thing to keep in mind is accessibility. If you have any issues with walking, climbing, or mobility, you may want to choose seats closer to the bottom or opt for floor seating. The seating is somewhat bleacher-style, so getting to higher rows does require walking up. Overall, it's a wonderful venue, and I always enjoy attending events here. read more

Bad experience, strange purse rules. Never had issues like this before in any other museums all over the world. Rude security! Couldn't go inside w. my purse, not a big one. They did that to other ladies. I asked them to hold it and they wouldn't. They gave a shopping bag for wallet, phones, my husband's pills I need to keep w. us all the time! I wore a backpack (small) in Louvre. Never experienced something like this before and I surely can't leave my purse in the car! Decent art, good exhibitis from National Portrait Gallery in London, Forida contemporary- original artists. They have a few Magritte on view and a nice permanent collection, Chihuly included. Check out the building across! $10 admission, they close early at 4 pm. Nice art but stupid rules spoiled my experience! read more

"Deceptive Seating and Non-Existent Customer Service"  Rating: 1/5 Stars  "My wife and I purchased box seats for the Miami City Ballet at Artis--Naples, expecting a premium view of both the dancers and the orchestra. Instead, we were met with a severely obstructed view: we could not see the orchestra at all and could only see the rear, right-hand corner of the stage.  The website failed to disclose these as 'obstructed view' seats at the time of purchase. Even more infuriating was learning that Artis does not even sell these specific seats for other events--likely because they are aware of the poor visibility.  We have sent three formal letters to management over the course of six weeks requesting a refund and an explanation. To date, we have received zero acknowledgment or response. For a venue of this supposed caliber, the lack of transparency in ticket sales and the total disregard for patron complaints is unacceptable. We will not be returning." read more

Spectacular... We got to see Chazz Palmininteri performing in his one man show "the Bronx tale", so good. This show is a treat. He has so much energy to tell the story, his story. Amazing. The theatre is beautiful. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds, the art displayed and the buildings in the complex gorgeous. This will not be the last time we make the drive from Cape Coral to enjoy this amazing facility read more

First time at this place and I expected a little more than what the website indicated. Upon arrival I was told my purse was too big. so unfortunately I had to lock it on the trunk of my car. I wasn't thrilled about that especially because I was holding my husband's medication but went along with the rules. The museum itself was about 3 floors...lots of photos, wall work, etc. It was a clean facility with good exhibitions but didn't understand the purse rule. If they were afraid we were going to steal something and put it in our purse there really wasn't anything to take since I mentioned most everything was wall art. The gift shop was tiny so chances of anyone taking anything was slim to none. I did read on the website that they would check inside bags which I was more than happy to let the workers do but they didn't even do that. They do have the philharmonic playing at another building, perhaps when they have a lot more people for concerts they should enforce the purse rule? In the museum we barely had 5 people! A little disappointed about that rule. read more

The acoustics suck. I'm sorry, I want to love this place as I can walk to it from my home, but if you want to go for anything other than pure music, do yourself a favor and stay home. Just got back from the musical Company, and we were the brave 60% who didn't leave at intermission. We brought friends, and we had to split seats because they were very booked. Two in the gallery and two in the boxes. We joked that it was like being in HS French class when you couldn't understand a word being said. This is a perpetual problem here. We were once season ticket holders, but now only go occasionally - like with friends in town. It's just sad. There is a TON of money coming into this business, yet they spend squat on improving the ability of the patrons to hear the shows. Tonight we moved from box 7 (which was pretty good seats, 4 boxes back from the stage, up to box 3 (which emptied at intermission). It was reasonably better; we got about half the dialogue this time. They didn't know how good they had it. (Box 5 emptied out, too). Love them for the symphony; hate them when you need to hear actual WORDS from the stage. Fix it!!! read more

A beautiful complex that houses a theater and The Baker Museum. We are new to the area and spent the evening visiting The Baker Museum. The museum is beautiful with 4 floors of exhibits, a cute little food cafe with outdoor seating and the obligatory gift shop. The Yankee exhibit was wonderful, even for this NY Mets fan! I am sure we will return for future exhibits, meanwhile I will be visiting the theater for a production this weekend! read more

Just visited to see Chihuly on 3rd floor, selections, from permanent collection on 2, Rodin sculptures on 1, and contemporary women artists in galleries in Hayes Hall. All were worth seeing. If you read my review from 2016, I argued that the Baker needed a major expansion for more gallery space. Well, Irma hit (9/17) and caused some damage and the Baker had a renovation. There are new special areas on the south side of the museum (farthest from parking and entrance "gate") on all three floors (3rd floor open terrace). The only problem is that all these additional spaces are not spaces for viewing fine art. They are "flexible" spaces for lectures, small concerts, and most notably events like wedding receptions and birthday parties for millionaires. I am certain that this museum will make a lot of money renting out these venues in coming years. I am just disappointed that the Baker has not become better as an ART MUSEUM. read more

The lack of decorum from audience members creates an unfavorable impression. Attended the Naples Ballet and a few audience members behave as if at a sports venue.Understand, this is a children's/young adult performance but parents could behave better. Patrons were seated during performance. Not one or two but small groups. Parents were whistling and very loud. Young children were sitting on adults' laps and couldn't see over or around. The performance was charming but the audience... Does the Artis wish to issue guidelines as to proper behavior? read more

I attended last night's Performance by Miami City Ballet, and they were phenomenal! The Dancers & the Orchestra put on an incredible feast for the eyes & ears! Artis was packed & it was wonderful to see Naples coming out to appreciate a mesmerizing display of talent, dedication & devotion! The Balanchine/Stravinsky Piece was performed so masterfully & I also thoroughly enjoyed the captivating Following the Subtle Current Upstream, and the beautiful synergy of the Corp of Dancers...and Delight was so fun to watch with all the Lifts the Male Dancers executed, and the Ballerinas looked sooo beautiful! The Costumes were also lovely in all 3 Episodes! Thank you for giving us ALL such a wonderful gift! And thank you Artis ... please invite Miami City Ballet back as often as possible! I came here to see a Christmas jazz concert. While not a jazz type of guy I must say the David Koz and friends were outstanding. Naples needs venues like this and perhaps a little larger to bring in some interesting talent. While seating 1400 which is a good size would like to see a 2000 theatre style music venue. Parking is somewhat of an issue but we really had no problem finding a spot close to the venue. Visually the Artis is very pleasing to the eye. Very up to date and good acoustics. Bars are place through the theatre so not much of a line for libations. What I liked was how easy it was to leave. They have exit doors everywhere. Very well thought out place. read more

We purchased 4 tickets to see The Company. The week of the play we were notified it would be cold in the theater. We never expected to see our breath like we were outside in the snow. Two people ended up severly sick after the show with cold and pneumonia. If we had known when we purchased the tickets we never would have purchased them. Two of the people were from out of state, so they can not come back and see another show which is what we were offered by the patron services director, Elise Guarino. My granddaughter and I attended the Nutcracker for our first ever show at Artis-Naples last night. The show was very good, but one of the ladies "watching" the door took her position of "power" to a new level. My granddaughter missed her dinner, so we went outside to the cafe to get something to eat prior to the show. She was holding the exit door for me (as it locked when it closed) while I was purchasing some food from the cafe. When I was returning with the food - and only about 20 feet from the door - the door monitor came up to my granddaughter and her friend and said "ladies, let go of this door, it has to remain closed." She could see me coming with the food. Then she yanked the door out of their hands, looked at me (I was walking toward them) and slammed the door in my face. Then she mouthed to me and motioned with her finger "Go around!" Why would you have the door closest to the cafe need to "remain locked" when people are trying to purchase food?? And why be so nasty to the paying guests - especially two young (11 year old) girls? Wow, what an experience for my first ever visit to such a renowned place in Naples. We were very disappointed and it set the stage for the evening. Give someone a little power and it goes to their head. read more

If not for the Hirshhorns -- known for the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC -- and the gigantic Louise Nevelson sculptures ensconced here, the Baker Museum would be unremarkable. Fortunately, Olga Hirshhorn's largesse includes a number of eclectic Picasso works, Calder sculptures and mobiles, and odd but fascinating assortment of works by artists of her time. The reason I came here, though, was to see Louise Nevelson's assemblages. She used black almost exclusively. She rarely ventured into gold or white. Well, white is used exclusively here. These works are two-stories tall and are beautiful but they would benefit from being in an open gallery. Here, it's a tight fit and they feel like design elements of the building rather than works unto themselves. Their grandeur is lost. read more

Incredibly rude staff and have a crazy requirement of not carrying a small handbag. This requirement is is ambiguous at best on the website and we traveled all the way from Marco Island to face this nonsense. They have no lockers to store a small hand bag. The website, the sandwich board outside, and the rude staff all have different bag size requirements as well :) Save your time and money and avoid this place at all cost. This is one of the most ridiculous museums and staff definitely need training. We are never ever returning to this place. Such a horrendous experience. I am surprised anyone from outside Florida visits this place with such poor management. AND it looks like several others have faced the same poor experience. read more

It is all you expect from Naples. Beautiful, classy, attracts talented musicians and acts, as well as wealthy senior citizens as patrons. No bad seat here. Intimate enough to purchase a cheap ticket and be content. There is a museum, beautiful decor throughout. Ushers that will not let you get away with anything. They watch you like hawks. Valet for $10 fee but not necessary. Free Parking at their private lot, you can also go ahead and park free across the street at the banks that close early. After your show, god down the street to Waterside shops for a bite. If you can find a place open! Most shows end by 10pm. read more

A horrible place. Do not patronize them under ANY circumstances. A prime example of greed and complete disrespect for their patrons. THEY decided to cancel their season early, leaving patrons hanging. Their snarky response to a phone call was we could come next year or DONATE the tickets next year so someone else can go for free. While I understand that if you don't use your ticket you lose it, you absolutely should be reimbursed if they canceled the show. Not doing so is theft plain and simple. They are keeping people's money that they don't deserve to have. Please help the people being ripped off by this company by never ever giving them a dime of your money. Because of their attitude towards customers, I hope when I return next year they will be out of business because nobody will come. They deserve it. read more

We attended The Nutcracker Ballet on 11-24-19 2pm Show. The Music, Sets & Dance were all Spectacular. There isn't a bad seat in the Venue. Arrived early to see the all the activity. Enjoyed a nice hot tea and then sat in the First Row. The orchestra pit was right beneath us. read more

Artis Naples' museum is The Baker. Finally taking to successful patterns of large city museums, The Baker offers free admission to the public from 6PM to close on the last Wednesday of each month. This is a very worthwhile opportunity for anyone to see the exhibits, chat with a docent, and be entertained by various musicians under The Dome. Food and drink is available for purchase. A group of us attended so that one of our house guests could get up close and personal with the Paco Pomet installation. I was personally glad to see its arrival at The Baker, after the curator discovered the Spanish artist and his work at Art Basel, Miami. The sardonic wit, contemporary realism, and social commentary in each painting forces a viewer into the 21st Century, ready or not. This is a very good thing for the staid, predictable, and safe curation that's the usual fare at this museum. Kudus, Baker! read more

Favorite Paintings at the"Love Stories From The National Portrait Gallery,London"(it ends May 7th,2023)were Joshua Reynolds'"Mr and Mrs. David Garrick",Angelica Kauffmann's"Anna and Thomas Jenkins",Dutch Master,Casper Netscher's"Lady Temple",Anton Van Dyck's"Venetia,Lady Digby",John Opie's"Mary Wollencraft",Marian Collier's"John Collier",Ford Madox Brown's"Harry and Dame Millicent Fawcett",Duncan Grant's"Vanessa Bell",and Dora Carrington's"Lytton Strachey".This well curated exhibit discussed the Love Life of the painters and their sitters. Favorite works of Art on display that day at the" Naples Collects"exhibit were Jim Dine's"Ranch Santa Fe Heart",Yayoi Kusama's"Silver Tray"(somewhat Phallic Creation),Duane Hansen's"Art Dealer",Rene Magritte's "Sense of Death", Will Barnet's"Poem 351"and Nari Ward's"Mare". We were blocked from entering by an older female attendant who insisted our bags were "too large "even though they both fit the size constraints, which I have NEVER seen before at an Art Museum. The attendant acted as if this was common place, and was incredibly rude and condescending throughout the entire interaction.This interaction completely discouraged us from visiting the museum, and we will likely never return. read more

A guest conductor tonight. A 34 year old conductor from the Orlando Symphony. Eric Jacobsen has a really engaging personality and he was fun to watch. I'm going to predict he will become on of the top conductors in the world in a few decades. Jennifer Koh was the solo violinist. She played Mackey's Beautiful Passing which was interesting and strange. I liked it. My wife thought is was just really bad. She did though like Koh. read more

Great performances here. Have attended several performances and all are of the best quality Yesterday, I attended Les Miserables and reaffirmed my expectation with one very disappointing exception. I found the quality of the sound system lacking in fidelity. Sitting 2/3 rds away from the stage: clarity was basically non existent. Having seen this performance in Boston where clarity was a non issue I was left a bit disappointed. Overall still the best artists and performances anywhere on the planet. read more

This place truly is a treasure in Naples. It just keeps getting better and better each year. From the orchestra's variety of shows, to the ever changing art museum, I feel ashamed for not partaking in events here more often. The Artis is also a wonderful location for kids and school field trips. The staff on hand are true pros, and not only are experts in the art on display, but are so good with the kids as well. As a teacher, I learn more than the students while visiting and never feel like I'm working too hard because they keep a lively pace, kids interested and engaged. Well done. read more

I've attended multiple benefits and performances at the Phil, and I always have a lovely time. The overall management of any productions are handled professionally, and given a five star. However, the website needs updating, the entire venue needs a modern rehab, and the dress code needs a major overhaul. Also, modern performances, artists, & events should be held to appeal to a younger demographic. read more

Seating in box 1, especially last 2 rows is horrible- you can only see 1/3 of the stage and the night we saw Michael Bolton, he played mostly on the right side of the stage so couldn't see him at all! Very disappointing seats and show. He appeared slow, unenthusiastic and almost bored and sadly had a female performer sing some of his most famous (and favorite) songs. read more
