I found out late that I had a Zoom interview on Monday, and realized that I looked like a slob, with overgrown bangs and frizzy, shapeless hair. Jeannette squeezed me in on a busy Saturday and gave me an awesome haircut that quickly restored me to looking like a professional that you could trust! They do a quiz at the beginning so that you have a chance to share all of your common problems with your hair, which they can then suggest solutions for. I am out in the sun and wind a lot, and they suggested a very affordably priced (think Amazon prices, not typical salon prices) leave-in conditioner of their own that would help protect my hair against the elements. We moved to Acton earlier this year... within 6 months I'm tired of having to drive to Burbank for many things and hair being one of them... Decided to try Artistic Beauty not only because it's half a mile from my house (so convenient) but also because of the great yelp reviews. Tons of great products, anywhere from clothes to makeup to body and hair care. From the moment you walk in your amazed at how cute his boutique style had studio is considering it's in a beautiful but dusty ;-) small town. Jeannette is what makes the place... she is so nice and FULL of valuable information. Kids get impatient and sue made them feel comfortable and set them up with some puzzles. I moved to Acton about a year ago when I discovered my hairdresser had moved to Utah without giving me notice. I had no idea where to go. I was so lucky to have discovered Jeanette and her crew. After just a few questions, Jeanette gave me one of the best haircuts I've EVER had. It was exactly what I was imagining in my head. And every time I go in, she's able to repeat it. I'd been coloring my hair myself (big mistake) and she not only color-corrected it; she made it the most spectacular shade of reds I've ever seen. I honestly couldn't stop looking at my hair in the mirror after I left. And the color never faded like reds usually do. I know it's probably wise to visit a business more than once before reviewing, but I just had such a good time at Artistic Beauty that I wanted to post right away. What a pleasure. It was my first time. Christy, my stylist, showed me around the clean comfortable well-decorated rooms of the salon, which put me at ease. She interviewed me with smart questions about my hair and what I like about it and what I consider problems, etc. My hair was very grown out and I color it myself at this point because I've had bad experiences with salon coloring, and Christy never made me feel less-than about it. I wanted something that fits my lifestyle, which means not a lot of time invested to look intentional but not overly controlled (like my yard, as a matter of fact!) Christy did a great job of listening and respecting my feelings about my hair. We wear our hairstyles every day and they can be important to how we see ourselves and how much confidence we have in all aspects of our lives. I'm so happy to have found a welcoming, stylish salon where the staff really cares about their work and their customers. (They take classes regularly...how cool is that!?) I had the best experience at my first time going to Artistic Beauty. Jeanette is AMAZING!!! When I first arrived, she showed me around the salon. They sell tons of beauty products, clothing, jewelry and a bunch of other cool things. The salon itself was so clean you could eat off the floor. I always have very short blonde hair. Due to Covid, I could not get my hair done in a little bit over a year. I had about 4 inches of brown roots, and my hair was grown entirely out from my regular short haircut. I told her I wanted my hair platinum blonde. I knew that was going to be quite the task considering she was dealing with virgin hair. The end result was absolutely incredible! It took quite a few steps, but Jeanette gave me the platinum blonde that I wanted and a fantastic short haircut, precisely like a picture I showed her. She is so talented and professional. She is always very careful to make sure she cuts only as much off as I want. My hair is straight and fine, but her invisible layers gives it just the right amount of body. She also has excellent taste in clothes. She shops at the garment district in LA, and brings treasures to the in-store boutique. These are clothes and accessories that you won't find off the rack in big department stores, but you will not believe the low prices. I had an amazing experience at the salon today. I have never been in such a friendly salon/environment. We were so lucky that we were able to be squeezed in on a Saturday. We were originally in there so that my husband could have his hair cut and I ended up getting lucky enough to have my hair done as well. The woman who helped me also happened to be the owner and she was absolutely amazing. I have never met such a kind hearted person! If your looking for a impersonal or boring experience this is not the place for you. The service was beyond comparable, inviting and friendly. Seriously, I walked in the door and was immediately greeted and offered a tour around the salon. How many salons have you been to where you are offered a tour? Or are big enough to take a tour? Jeanette was so friendly and kind and handed me a questionnaire so that she could customize her work to my specific needs. I do not live in this area and will be (switching from my hair salon) commuting from here on out just to see Jeanette. She made me feel beautiful and I felt so comfortable opening up about my past experiences with having my hair done. It may sound silly but we all know that going to a salon is much more than just a hair cut- it's therapy! A chance to connect to someone and an outlet. What a GREAT salon!!! I was very nervous going in because I have difficult hair to color and didn't know what I would get. I have black hair and I have tried a weave in the past with no success. I went in for a cut and color and am frankly amazed with the results, as well as the service and atmosphere. Christy is AMAZING. Patient and gentle and brilliant. She literally spent hours with me to get the color I wanted. She also gave me a fantastic cut. Halfway through the appt., I got a serious headache, and I was cared for by the staff, including getting a pressure point massage by Jeanette and being brought fruit and crackers and ice water. Jeanette used to be reliable for my hair cutting needs, then one day, when I asked for "just a hair length trim", she decided to be experimental and cut my hair in layers, continually telling me how "trained" she is. This ruined my hair as I only weave the top and then I ended up looking like I had a blonde hat on my head. She had spent a long time drying and styling for her needs and it appeared to cover up the flaws. Then, when I got home to wash and style my hair my way I found that my hair was choppy with the left side longer around my face than the right!!! She had cut my bangs so short, they will not lie down naturally, She has completely ruined my beautiful, long hair and it will take me months, if not years to grow back straight again.
