I have super super sensitive skin. To the point that I schedule my day around eyebrow threading. Because if anyone were to see me after they would stare. Like hard core what happened to this woman stare. And I would freak the people out who were doing my brows because I would get so red! And then I could never tell if they were even until later when the trauma above my eyes has gone down. ALL OF THAT HAS CHANGED. Mike is SO gentle that I can go on my lunch break from work. I had been going to Benefit Brow Bar for over 10 years (same eyebrow specialist the whole time) but hadn't really been getting the results I wanted lately. I decided to search for someone who does threading because I kept reading how it was better for your skin than wax. I found Artistic Eyebrow here on Yelp and called to make an appointment with Mike (since he was so highly reviewed!). I was nervous the first time I went in because I wasn't sure what to expect. My lady at the Brow Bar knew me so well that I never really had to explain what I wanted when I went in to see her. I explained to Mike that I was getting married in a few months and was trying to grow my brows thicker. He then went to work, and my brows looked amazing! I was sold. I went in again about 6 or 8 weeks later, and Mike asked me how the wedding planning was going - he had remembered me! I love the results but my left eyebrow isn't as good as the right one, but I'm pretty sure my left eyebrow has a different natural shape because everywhere I go my right eyebrow is always thicker and better. To be honest, I was hesitant to try it for quite some time due to its outside appearance and because of the strip mall that it is located in (smack in between a Little Caesars and a liquor store touting it's large selection of x-rated movies). She is very thorough and almost OCD in her need to extract every last stray brow. I never feel like she rushes, even if another customer is waiting after me. However, I felt compelled to write one for this establishment because they've mastered eyebrow threading to the degree where it seems like a Zen experience rather than a tedious chore done once every three weeks. I've been to Zibas, I've been to the mall, I've been to other mom and pop shops.. No one quite comes close to how perfectly Mike threads eyebrows. The guy is professional not only in skill, but in manners. He's managed to take a task that I used to think was nothing short of torture (getting your eyebrows threaded hurts!) and has taken it to the point where the pain is so minimal, I can barely feel a thing. The guy is extremely precise and makes sure both eyebrows are even and symmetrical... I cannot tell you how important this is because your eyebrows help shape your face and he's extremely adamant about making sure they are precisely identical. He also puts on this lotion after he's finished so it doesn't leave you walking around the rest of the day with that "raw skin" look from where your eyebrows have just been freshly threaded.
