My neighbor had his old fence torn down and a new fence installed by this company. I have my own chain link fence. This company came on my property to install my neighbor's fence, leaning on my metal posts, cutting the chain link fencing and ripping out my climbing roses. My metal posts are now leaning every which way, my chain link fence is drooping. For some reason they installed a gate on my property which I don't want and installed the latch backwards. I contacted Artistic Fence for a quote from Winnemucca branch and got no reply until I ask why on their website, evidently the main office in Reno answers because someone from this office in Winnemucca called and made arrangements to come out and measure my property, but then time goes by and again no quote. I gave them my choice in fencing material and still no quote . The seasons have changed and ow I can not get the material order in time for my grandsons to install a fence for me this year. I will not be contacting Artistic again since Artist is so unreliable. read more

I had Artistic Fence Replace my small black iron gate. When they replaced it with the new gate there was a huge paint drip along the whole top of the gate. They should've replaced the gate but they didn't - instead they tried to fix it. It still looks terrible. Now the new gate is already starting to rust! It's only a few months old. I always try and work with a company when things don't go right the first time and understand sometimes things happen. This will be the 3rd time however that I have had a a very negative experience with this company on the same issue and they don't seem to stand behind their work. They do not show up on time and they are not prepared to do the work. I was supposed to have a gate repaired (for the 3rd time due to poor quality of installation by them in the past) and today after waiting 2 months to be scheduled in they contact me 1/2 way through the day to say they don't have a simple 6x6 post. When I called to discuss this with a supervisor or owner I was told I'd have to wait several more days to speak with "Joe". No one in the office seems to have any clue what's even going on. And all this after they charged a 50% deposit months in advance. I have posted pictures of their quality (or lack there of). As you can see they screwed in the hinge and then relocated it causing the post split. They had cut the fence boards before the relocation so nothing lined up. This will be the third post I was having installed because the first one they installed split as well because they screed the hinge into a knot. If I was the owner of the is business I would be highly embarrassed this was the work my employees were putting out. read more

I called four fence companies to get bids on a small wrought iron fence. Three never returned my calls. Artistic promptly returned my call and made an appointment the next day to give me an estimate. I thought that the estimate was high so I called another company that seemed to be more of a one man operation.. He, too, came out promptly but gave me a bid that was twice that of Artistic. Because I changed my mind several times about the layout of the fence, Artistic came back several time to re-do its estimate, all w/o complaint. I had them do the job and they did an excellent job. The fence is on a slant and they had to custom make the gate to fit and to be slanted. It took them about a week to do so but it fits perfectly and looks great. I am very pleased with the work. read more

This place was just okay. They gave me a fair quote, relatively quickly and had workers out doing the job with in a week of when I signed the paperwork. The fence seems solid so overall, I'm satisfied. Their customer service/attention to detail is lacking. Like David J's review, I have to agree that they left the area where they were working pretty messy. Sweeping up/cleaning up debris they had unearthed while putting the fence up would have left me with a much better impression when I got home after the fence was installed. Added to this-- there was zero follow-up from the office to see if I was happy. I guess the charge to my credit card was the signal that they were done-- I never heard from them again. read more

After contacting Artistic I asked for a solid quote over the phone - price per foot to have 3' chain link fence installed as we are fixed incomes - no gate, easy access and was immediately told $20/foot. They sent an estimator out, he measured the job, took pictures and we talked about the job. He said it was 33' of fence and at $20/foot the job would cost me $660.00. I said great, please send me a quote - over a week and multiple calls to their office I finally got a quote for over $1500.00 for 3' cedar fence. I called and explained their error and that was supposed to be 3' chain link, no gate. Another week goes by and I finally get the quote - over $1250.00 - this was their response - "We only do ballpark quotes over the phone and I gave you a $20 to $26 per foot depending on the project itself as quotes are not only based on footage and materials. Unfortunately like everything in America, prices for materials are changing on a day to day basis. The price given to you is the price for your project". This went from a solid $20/foot to over $38/foot - I will never use or recommend them read more

I have mixed feelings about this company. They do put up a beautiful fence. I have had many compliments. However, it was difficult to get replies from the office-emails took a long time to get answered. My biggest complaint is lack of quality control. After the installers left there was no follow up. There were issues I had and had to go to the division manager to get the contract finished. Don did come right out, we agreed on changes, had to contact him to have the work finished weeks later, he answers emails and all work was completed and paid for. They build a beautiful fence at a good price. read more

I had them replace a section of fence taken out by wind storms. The guys who came were fast and did what appeared to be a good job. But I sure think I got a "low bid" job after a few months. First, the six foot vertical boards all started warping within weeks. Some of them really bent and pulled the nails out at either the top or bottom and I had to fix it by using screws. Second, the nails. It is usual for nails to corrode and leave a dark black streak down from the nail head? Too bad I stained the fence before that happened. Now I am thinking I will have to paint. Third, with any kind of wood project there is some scrap wood. I know that for a fact because I found a bunch of scrap wood thrown outside the fence, down the hill. They should have either hauled it away or given it to me for firewood. Next time I will specify kiln dried wood, non-corrosive nails or perhaps screws and they have to clean up after themselves. DEC 2013-- 2.75 years later. The fence is falling over. Come spring I am going to try to pull it upright and re-concrete the posts. (If it lasts that long!) read more

Artistic built a fence on my property, as a sub contractor for a landscape company. They didn't show up when they were scheduled ( according to the landscape contractor) then they came by unexpectedly and did not finish when they said they would. I think they used my job to fill in for various crews. They were supposed to use screws to attach boards but used nails. They then contended that they used ring shank nails and that they were just as good as screws. I pulled a few nails to see for myself and discovered that was a lie too. They made numerous other errors and to their credit they did fix some of them. This may of been because I bitched at the landscape contractor who has some pull My advise is that they change their name, as "artistic" does not fit their skill level. Get it in writing and completely spelled out so you get what you want and paid for. read more

Today my neighbor and I had artistic fence come out to replace Gates and fences. We had an appointment, the guy came out. He was worse than any sales person that I have ever met with in my entire life and I'm not a young man. He was he was worse than rude and refused to look at my gate which is a directly adjacent to my neighbor's gate because we wanted our gates and our fences replaced when I asked him to give me an a separate estimate because I had some additional fencing that I also wanted done. He refused to look at it or give me any type of a price said I would have to call the company because if he looked at it and gave me a quote the company would accuse him of stealing. I told him that either he is a thief or his company is the wrong place to work. He abruptly opened my neighbor's gate slamming it up against the side puffs up his chest unfortunately our only choice now is to spend our 10 or $15,000 with another company because I feel we can't even trust this one anymore . over to me and start movements were aggressive his language was aggressive, and number one I don't need it, number two it's ridiculous and when you address me in a threatening manner, like he wanted to fight. Both my neighbor and myself had to throw him off our properties to get him off and out and away. I hope other I hope other residents will will , think twice about using this company. We have used Artistic Fence 3 times in the last 6 years for repairs to an older fence and have had no problems with their bidding, promptness or the quality of their work. Even if we try to get other bids we never hear back from the so-called fence contractors. Yes, it can take a couple of months for them to get to us, because we are always a small job. If I could give this company zero stars I would. Sadly, that is not an option here. From the minute you drive up to and walk into the dilapidated building to the rude voices that fill the background, you immediately want to walk out and find another fence company. I had such a bad first impression of this company that was messy from appearance to reviews, that I chose to go another route especially after being told it would take 8 to 12 weeks for them to be able to start my fence. I heard that this was a family owned business and expected a warmer approach to customer service, but I can only assume that the f-bomb's being dropped in the background were family talking to each other. If I was employee in that environment, I would file every complaint I could. They treated each other horribly. Nasty, nasty people. Just awful. Beware of this place. read more

I had a great experience with these guys. They got out to give me a quote within 24 hours of me calling and the scheduled the install within just a few days of me signing the bid. They showed up early to do the job and even asked where I would like them to put the dirt they had to dig up. They left the area cleaner than it was before they showed up. This company was amazing! I had a part of my fence that had blown over and a few other places that needed touch up work. I called for an estimate and someone was sent out the next day to do an estimate. Estimate was very reasonable. After I sent the estimate back to have the work completed they said with the weather it would be about a week out. Weather cleared and they were at my house within 3 days. Only took a days work and it was done while I was at work and looks great! Had no fence problems ever sense. read more

This company has alot of issues, they never call you back they always have a excuse, after a estimate for the work and a deposit of $1500,it took about 5 weeks to get the work started to make the job easier for them the night befor we took the gates down,the next day they came and all you got was a couple of post in, they didn't have everything they needed to go any further, so we where left with no gates ,after asking them when they would be back to finish the job because we have animals they told use to call the office..again we did not see them for another 3 weeks after several,several calls to the off and more excuses on the time..when they did finally come back to do the gates,lock on wrong side we spoke to the office next day they said they would be out to make the changes, threee days later the lock they just put on fell off. So we are back to a chain on the gate,,its been OVER 4 weeks SINCE THE CALL AND AGAIN they eather tell you they will call you later that day and they dont or give you another excuse on why they have not returned to fix the problem, so why do they ask for half the money to start the work, the day after the job was done we paided 100% of the bill and our satisfaction is less then 10% desirable, maybe they need to credit the customer for the lack of service they performed, i GIVE ARTIST FENCE RENO the company Zero..and do not refer them to anyone look else where.. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.I called the company asking for them to build a fence with a gate. A gentleman came out and inspected the area, we talked, very nice said I will receive a quote soon. Two weeks later I receive a quote, I agreed to it, then was told I needed to pay half in order to get an appointment, said ok. 2 weeks later after calling and leaving messages, I received a date. They were going to do the work in two months on a Thursday and Friday, at 8am. Two months later, on a Tuesday before my appointment time they showed up to measure, due to problems with my neighbor, they did not finish. No one talked with us about it. On Thursday morning I waited for them to show up at 8am per agreed appointment time and date, after 10am I called them. Was told they will arrive after 1pm. After 4pm, and nobody arrived I called them again, was told that they will not be doing the work. That's it, no explanations, no money back, no phone calls. nothing. Bad customer service. We, finally got them to agree to come back on Friday( our other scheduled day) to do the work, but our agreement was going to be revised since we could no longer do the full project. Friday the workers showed up, work was great, workers very nice and polite, and apologetic. Since we were still having trouble with our neighbor, we sent the workers away, we finished the work on our gate. 45 days later we get a bill for the other half we needed to pay. No changes in the contract or bill, they stated since their workers lost a day in pay, we could have been charged $1100 more. I am very confused about what day they lost, since no one arrived on Thursday that was my scheduled day. There is was no communication with this company.DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Very unprofessional, since when is it ok, to be rude to customers, then blame them. I recommend you do business elsewhere. read more
