Due to some family issues, I didn't pick out my own pavers. I just described a color scheme I was interested in and Rafael did the rest. We decided to switch from a yard full of grass to a mostly-xeriscaped yard. The project included removing the existing grass, shrubs, sprinklers, concrete walkway and water lines and replacing them with pavers, rock, creek bed pebbles, shrubs, boulders, decorative lighting, drip system, electrical lines attached to timers, a mailbox pillar, and an additional step added to the entryway. After researching many companies and interviewing four, we ended up choosing Nevada Pavers & Stone. Rafael, the owner, spent a lot of time with us to determine exactly what we wanted and he was also very patient as we requested changes both before the project started and during the renovation, clearly stating if a change was included or if it would be an additional cost so there would be no surprises. Once he and his crew started the job, they did not want to stop until they finished. I mention this because often contractors will start a project, only to leave in the middle of it to work on someone else's project then return at a later date. We appreciated that this was not the case with Nevada Pavers & Stone. The crew was ready to work by 8 a.m. every morning, sometimes earlier. They worked hard all day, every day (at times they were actually jogging when transferring materials from the truck to the yard) and were respectful of our property and our neighbors' property, cleaning up as they went and at the end of each workday. They were also professionals - they knew what was expected and how to do it, and we never heard loud voices, questionable language, or loud music (in fact I did not hear any music at all, which I would not have minded). The project included many drip lines and electrical wire being run for shrubs and lighting, all of which are nicely hidden as they were buried under the new ground cover. Rafael also built a pillar for our mailbox, to which he added a decorative light on top and lighted address numbers on the front. We are very happy with our front yard. Wow. Just wow. I…read moreDON'T recommend. Because, we sure didn't get what we had bargained for or paid for or what Silver State Fence had agreed to do or is supposed to do as a licensed contractor. It's quite clear Silver State Fence doesn't care about its reputation. NOT a single negative review here is responded to by them attempting to make it right for their customers, although their account is "claimed" here on Yelp. In violation of our contract with Silver State Fence one installer cut some of the posts and the pickets down making them too short. He was also yelling at the other installer because he spent more time on his cell phone, spilled concrete and missed hitting the posts while installing the pickets. We tried several times to get the posts and pickets corrected and the spilled concrete cleaned up. Finally, and with great grumbling from Silver State Fence, that was all sorta corrected. The installer who was yelling at the other installer then threw a temper tantrum and walked off the job. The other installer finally got off his their phone but only to yell at him as he walked off the job for leaving him alone. Then the City cited us for not have a building permit. We contacted Silver State Fence. No response. We contacted again. No response. We contacted again and again and again. No response again and again and again. After more than a month an AJ showed up. Said he would take care of it all. Turns out he was just blowing smoke at us as he didn't. We never heard back from him or Silver State Fence. Then we found out Silver State Fencing failed to give us the required Recovery Fund Disclosure, and that it is the contractor who's presumed to have violated the building laws when they commence work without the necessary building permit. NRS 624.520  Contractor required to notify owner of rights related to account; written statement; administrative fine for noncompliance. 1.  A residential contractor shall notify an owner with whom he or she contracts of the rights of the owner pursuant to NRS 624.400 to 624.560, inclusive, including, without limitation, providing a written statement explaining those rights in any agreement or contract for qualified services. The written statement must be in substantially the following form: RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION RECOVERY FUND Payment may be available from the Recovery Fund if you are damaged financially by a project performed on your residence pursuant to a contract, including construction, remodeling, repair or other improvements, and the damage resulted from certain specified violations of Nevada law by a contractor licensed in this State. To obtain information relating to the Recovery Fund and filing a claim for recovery from the Recovery Fund, you may contact the State Contractors' Board. NRS 624.3011(2) - If a contractor performs construction without obtaining any necessary building permit, there is a rebuttable presumption that the contractor willfully and deliberately violated the building laws of this State or of its political subdivisions. Every interaction was professional and prompt and they were able to give me an estimate just based on photos. Their pricing was very reasonable too. We were scheduled for 4-6 weeks out, but Julian was able to get us in sooner (closer to 3 weeks). I'm most impressed with how fast they were able to complete the project and the quality of service. They did an amazing job and the entire project took less than 48 hours. All communication regarding payment was again professional and prompt.
