This place is owned and operated by superhero's! I adopted a dog born on the same day my grandpa passed away for my grandma. He's a great dog but has crazy anxiety to the point you'd think he was abused. He hates anyone near his face his scissors. He goes from being the cutest little puppy in the world to Cujo. Even with heavy sedation, he fights it. Had a few groomers not wanna risk it, too scared to try to handle him. I had someone quote me prices as if I lived in Beverly Hills. Thank God I found Monika ! She wasn't scared of Marshmellow at all. You could tell she had a lot of experience under her belt. She wasn't scared of a challenge. Marshmellow needed the hair around his face trimmed because it grows up and inward towards his eyes and tickles his eyes and makes them tear all day. Trying to help the little dude for Pete sake. Never going back to this place! Clearly does not know how to take care of my breed type of dog. They may know how to take care of other dogs but clearly not mine... My dog is a duck toller/lab mix. Maybe some groomers don't know but you are NOT supposed to shave off their top coat. It doesn't grow back the same and it grows coarser. She is a double-coated dog. It can actually damage how she thermally regulates by improper grooming. I wish they had just said they don't know how to groom a double-coated breed rather than saying yes for business. Unfortunately, now my dog has to pay the consequences of their ignorance. ---- Reply to owner: Your account of events is inaccurate. First, I specifically said to the worker that was there, which was not you was a "trim and not to shave". I, made a conscious effort to clarify this, because the worker asked if we were cutting hair in her body, which I said "no". Second, I did not pick up the dog, someone else did because I was not expecting this is how I would get my dog back. Lastly, miscommunication is completely different from lack of information. If you are at all familiar with double-coated/herding dogs, you would know not to cut off their hair and hopefully would advise clients of how it could impact the dog's cooling/heating system. I've been taking my yellow lab there for years. They are always accommodating and flexible with scheduling an appointment. They always do a great job with brushing out all the hair that yellow labs tend to shed all over our house. Nails are great and teeth are clean. In a couple occasions they noticed ear problems or teeth issues that required a vet visit that I would have never notice on my own. Monica and team are wonderful and my dog loves going there. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! We have been coming here for our dog's grooming services for some time but will no longer do so after our experience. The groomer, cut a piece of my dog's ear off! Upon pick up, no one said anything. Not a word. Supposedly, the groomer had left for the day. I could believe that the other groomer might have not known of the situation but that is questionable as well. His ear was noticed in the car. You could see the dried blood on his ear and looked as if someone was trying to wipe it off.After rushing to the animal hospital, the veterinarian informed us that part of his ear has been cut off and there is no way no one wouldn't have noticed it. The area that was cut would have been bleeding a lot. If the groomer really did not know this happened. I question the kind of care and attention they are giving as this situation couldn't have gone unnoticed as stated by medical professionals. The groomer then had the nerve to call me and ask what happened. Not once did she apologize but instead got upset and yelled at me because I was clearly upset with her as any dog owner would have been. There is much more to this experience that I am unhappy with and definitely did not feel this place takes care of your pets when in their hands. My dog will forever have mismatched ears because of their negligence. They are unprofessional and have no care for their customers or their pets. I would recommend going elsewhere to avoid such a horrifying experience for you and your pet. Update: In response to the owners comment. It's funny how now you are saying it's an accident when over the phone you repeatedly told me "I wasn't there and I don't know what happened" which is true. However, you did not apologize. Your groomer Debbie claimed she had no idea what happened. She too, did not apologize. It was comical to see her act like she did not know she cut a piece of an ear off. So it's funny how you say you repeatedly apologized. And yes it is very disappointing that we were treated the way we were after the many years we have supported your business. This probably is the main reason we will no longer be using your services. This is what makes this experience even more devastating. Your lack of empathy and care you have with your customers. And thank you for covering the $57 vet bill which covered only the treatment to his cut ear. YES HE WAS TREATED FOR DEBBIE CUTTING A PIECE OF HIS EAR OFF. But none of you can undo the damage that you have caused. I have let this incident go (lucky for you and your groomer) so don't start anything back up saying you repeatedly apologized and playing this off as if it wasn't a big deal. Please avoid this place. So I finally found my favorite Debbie (with help of others). She works so well with my one dog who is not the most friendly. My first experience in there was that everyone was super friendly and interested in my dog. I felt very comfortable there. After Deb left the place in Lake Zurich (which the owner was so rude with my wife, I will never step foot in there again) I was at a loss. I tried another place and they hacked my dog up so bad (bleeding too) I almost took him to the vet. After finding Deb at Artistic Pet, life is good again. Those other places lost two dogs (not to mention my neighbors two as well, as I told them about it). They are farther for me to drive to, but well worth it. I have been taking my dog to this groomer for almost a year now. Today I walked in to give new business with my sisters dog. The treatment I was given was beyond rude and horrible. As a psychologist I worry about the well being of anyone that steps foot in this place. I will admit after being treated and judged I reacted and had words with the woman behind the counter. When I walked in I was told I was late after calling and letting them know we were running late. She thought I was bringing two dogs because I was carrying my dog with me. The lady called me out of my name told me I was bitching and that I could go somewhere else. I will never return. The owner was not as rude as the lady that works besides her, I believe I was racially profiled and will be reporting it rather she is the manager or not. I'm highly disappointed because I love my dog and thought I had found him a home but the stress level and conduct that I saw today makes me worry for my animal and others. Took my dog in for a nail trim. The lady was very rude and impatient with my dog. When she finally had one nail left to trim, she said forget it she couldn't do this anymore. If your job is to work with dogs shouldn't you be patient with them? My dog can't possible be the only dog that doesn't like to get her nails trimmed. I've never had a groomer be so frustrated with my dog. read more

This place has always help us out by taking our dogs in when we have had emergencies (dog rolling in mud, skunks, etc.)! They always do such a nice job. With our current dog they have worked with us on an optimal type of cut without permanently damaging her coat/fur. read more

Don't go here. First of all we've been taking my puppy there for a while now and we never had a problem, but this last time we took her they almost cut off the extra nail she has on her back right leg. I had to take her to the animal hospital to check out the cut since there was a good amount of blood They payed for the first bill which they did. But the doctor told us that the nail had to be removed since they couldn't sow it back to how it was, so we went back to talk to the owner and she said she will only help us with half of the cost which I don't know why we even gotta pay for the other half since it wasn't aren't fault it was theres. Either way we agreed to the remove the nail and now that we did it I took the bill to the owner and she refused to pay for the half that we agreed on What bothered me is that she clearly told me that she would pay for half of it and now she's saying other wise making me look like a fool so thanks for nothing and for making me spent 400 bucks read more

Artistic Pet Grooming has been grooming my Havanese for over 4 years. The Havanese are a difficult breed to trim, but she comes out looking great every time (every 4 weeks). The service is way above expectations. I use a wheelchair, and Monika comes out to my car when I drop off my dog and delivers her back to my car when I pick up to save me the difficulty of navigating into the shop. Most of the dogs roam freely in the shop, but because my 10lb. dog is a bit fearful, she puts her in a cage where she can feel safe. Monika goes to the extra effort of using a unscented, tears-free shampoo that I provide without any extra charge. Artistic Pet Grooming goes out of their way to accommodate both the pet and his/her owner. I would highly recommend them. read more

Let me just say first off, NO! Okay, I haven't been to this location in over 5 years, but for good reason. First off, none of the people who worked there treated me with respect or kindness, so I could only imagine how my dog was treated. They use cages to keep the dogs during their stay (not while they're being groomed of course). Keeping them in cages is not a big deal, but there are other groomers in the are who are cage-free and are absolutely wonderful. Additionally, I was given a time to pick my dog up, so I go in at the said time and I am SCOLDED, yes scolded, by an employee for coming inside to pick up my pet while she was still being groomed on the table because this could cause her to "act up". I came in not a minute before the designated time that they told me she would be ready, so this is their fault for not having her ready in time. And frankly, after this issue I just wanted her off that table whether she was done or not. Let me also just add, my dog was the ONLY dog on a table at the time, too. Yet they still couldn't have her ready by the said time? Laziness, Irresponsibility, Carelessness, the list could go on... They also showed zero compassion or friendliness towards my dog, and that is a huge turn off for me. I was LIVID, and honestly I still am to this day. Artistic pet grooming should never put their hands on another pet whom they clearly don't care about and should never interact with customers or other human beings for that matter. Some people just aren't cut out for the business world. SHAME ON THEM. Never, I mean NEVER take your dog or your business to Artistic Pet Grooming. read more

I've been taking my dog here for about a year now. And they usually do a great job. But the last visit they completely messed my dog up. The hair cut was good but as soon as we got home my dog was crying in pain. I realized they had hurt his tail. He had a nasty rash. I'm not sure if they burned him with the clippers or what but he has been in pain for days now. It just started getting better. I've wasted more money on vet visits when all I wanted was a hair cut. My dog is old and has warts on his body. Just due to old age. They managed to cut most of them off. I will never be returning to this groomers again. Which is very upsetting because they always did such a good job on my dog. I feel so bad for him that I trusted someone only for them to be so careless with his needs. read more

Very reasonably priced and always willing to take my pup. Its also nice they are so close to my own home, making it convenient to drop my pooch off. If I tell the owner "I need to come back and pick my dog up at X o'clock", they will always work with me to make it happen. They also let me swing by any time for a quick on the spot nail trim! Artistic Grooming has been taking excellent care of our two Old English Sheepdogs for 3 years now. The dogs always come home looking great and timing has been top notch. The dogs run around the grooming area freely, they are not caged. The owner is very personable and treats customers with friendliness and respect. Our dogs are ready for pickup as promised and have only been late once when the groomers got slammed with work on a Saturday. A five year old review is wrong, inappropriate, and inaccurate. read more
