There were no complications and recovery was fairly quick for me (I also applied DMSO for faster healing.) I was shown what possible complications could potentially occur during surgery and what those options would be (just in case) before commitments were made. Everything went well and the contingencies were not needed. I did not have covering insurance, but the costs were not any more than my in-network insurance dentists had quoted. The latter may also be a reflection upon unscrupulous in-network dentists (name withheld) refusing to grant treatments without agreeing to unnecessary procedures, it is worth noting that I didn't have any unneeded options being pressed with this dentist, and I appreciate that honesty and professionalism. For the dentist and staff, thank you. There were no problems requiring follow-up!

I was told that the office did not take my insurance but they would file the claim on my behalf. I understood that I would be required to pay for the services upfront which I did. The amount changed from what I had been quoted but did not argue with this. After 6 weeks I had not received reimbursement from my insurance so I called and was told that the payment was made to the dentist. I then called Beachside Oral Surgery and was told that it takes a while for them to reconcile their payments. It is now December 22nd and I have not received any payment. My appointment was during the first week of September. I have called and left messages but no one from this office has returned my calls. They received payment by me and insurance which is crazy. My only recourse now is to file suit against the dentist. I do not recommend this practice.

My dentist anxiety is off the charts and they are very accommodating and sweet. Dr Burnes is efficient, kind, patient, and tells you everything he's doing so there's no surprises. About a week after the dental service I received a bill for $195. I contacted them and said that was a mistake. A week later I get the same bill. I reply I have zero-copay and don't owe anything and that this looks like a scam. No reply. I confirmed with my dental insurance company they paid $552 to the dentist...for a teeth-cleaning! I am now getting collection company letters claiming I owe an additional $350! I will not pay this. This is a terrible dentist operating illegally.

She told me that she "didn't want to know every little thing" and that point I raised my voice because as I said to her - these are not "little things to me." This person who after me asking again, identified herself as Shannon. I WAS AND STILL AM, UPSET. This has been an ordeal for me and now this hassle of trying to get through to someone there and to get an appointment - to find that I was scheduled an hour ago and no one called me. Shannon said they had tried to call me many times, I find that difficult to believe - but I did check all messages and see no evidence of that. No missed calls - no messages - not on the land line or on my cell. I have read several other reviews regarding the front desk at this office and Shannon is referred to by name - as having an attiude - and saying she is the boss, not caring about the patients needs. I contacted this dentist because my initial research pointed to their "compassionate" manner. I was disappointed by some of the answers to my questions, so I recognize it was not an easy call for her - but it was her use of the word "honey", and it's accompanied tone of voice, that lost my business. I am finding every option to leave reviews so the dental practice management can address this. Had this not occurred, I would have made an appointment after grumbling a little about redoing x-rays and other administrative items - and I have $5-$10k of dental work that needs to be performed. You all blew it. The front desk is your entry to patient care.
