They confirmed I was covered for zero-copay and made an appointment in 1 month. Day of appointment I confirmed with the receptionist that I was zero-copay and did not want any additional services -- just a teeth-cleaning. She confirmed I was covered zero-copay. About a week after the dental service I received a bill for $195. I contacted them and said that was a mistake. A week later I get the same bill. I reply I have zero-copay and don't owe anything and that this looks like a scam. No reply. I confirmed with my dental insurance company they paid $552 to the dentist...for a teeth-cleaning! When I originally came, my entered name was not verified with my ID. When I came this time, about 4 years later, I requested to change my name and gender on my file. I was told that it all has to match my ID. I can prove that it doesn't, because my current name on file isn't what's on my ID. The X-ray tech was friendly, the hygienist was fine. The dentist was rude and clearly did not believe that my crown had come off just a couple days ago. This is a crown that had been made and placed by this office, and it just popped off while eating, so who knows how long it had been loose and just stuck between the neighboring teeth. When I called to make an appointment, I told the woman on the phone that I don't have dental insurance. She said they could make the initial X-rays and exam free, and it would be $149 to repair my crown and put it back on. When I got to the billing desk, the initial things were free, but the rest was totally different. That's where I was told that I also have two cavities, and all of the "necessary" work would be over $4000 - about $2000 of that is for a new crown. read more

Went for a specific problem. They x rayed all my teeth even though I had ones that were 4 months old. I think they look at your insurance a determine what it will cover, and thats what they do. They don't really care about the specific problem. So during consultation I was advised I have bone loss on some of my teeth. Im 70 years old so I was not surprised nor should they be. Eventually I was given a referral to another dentist to address issues unrelated to the specific issue. The issue was never addressed. They wanted to pull all my teeth and give me dentures. I got the feeling that this is the approach to all patients. I guess thats where the money is. With the current rating I would expect them to be out of business soon. My last two visits, this office tells me my insurance is maxed and I must pay out-of-pocket. Then I get notice from my insurance carrier that they submitted for both visits; one they paid them partial payment and the other is pending for full payment which they submitted which was more than I paid for the visit as an out-of-pocket expense. I am not sure how this office gets such negative reviews. I have been there 3 times, today being my 4th, not because of anything on their part. My own neglect and putting it off. Everytime I have been there, EVERYONE has been extremely nice, thorough and explained everything to me. Going in (even with insurance), I knew I was going to have to pay for over 1/2 of the services. On Friday, July 29th @ 9am, I saw DDS Peter Ibrahim, and He gave me a Referral to see an Endodontist, of my choice, to perform a Root Canal on Tooth #3. I called a few of them, and they all asked me if I was prescribed Antibiotics, I wasn't. So...I called Aspen back, and asked them to please call in a prescription for an Antibiotic to the Winn-Dixie pharmacy in Micco (772) 663-1135, I was assured that they would get right on it...they didn't. I called the pharmacy myself, on Saturday, to see if maybe it was called in...it wasn't. So, here I sit with an extremely irritated Toothache, and no way to get any help for it. I was actually going to take out a loan to have everything done that Peter had suggested I have done. But now....seeing as though Aspen can't even follow through on the Simplest of things, I have No Confidence of Aspen to follow through on the Harder things. Let's face it, nobody likes going to the dentist. It's something we take care of last before everything else for many reasons. The anxiety and the cost are the two biggest reasons. I don't have severe anxiety about it but the cost always floors me, even with dental insurance, which I no longer have. I had a horrible experience with Bright Now Dental and actually walked out in the middle of the ex-rays. A friend suggested Aspen Dental so I checked out the Viera location. The office was spotless and the staff was so kind and gentle, I knew I had found the right spot. I have several broken teeth and I knew it was going to be costly but Allison, the financial consultant, was so great and I did not feel embarrassed to explain my financial situation. She bent over backwards to find every offer and discount that could be applied and I left there actually being excited and coming back and getting my teeth fixed and wanting to smile again! I made my appt a week in advance. AT 7 PM they day before the appointment I get a frantic call from "Donna" from the location I was scheduled for stating that I needed to provide my ssn or I "won't know the cost of the procedures when you come". She was very rushed and seemed as if she was intending to get me to cancel the appointment. I did get a bit upset stating that 1. I was not giving my ssn over the phone. 2. The call center rep was able to find my insurance information. 3. It was 7 PM and I was in bed and did not need the stress of the call. Dear Reader, I called over a week in advance for this appointment and this woman is calling me at 7 pm the night before the appointment. I still wonder what she expected to accomplish. I had already confirmed my appointment via email. I should have stopped there. The next day was my appointment. I had called my insurance company and gave the front desk the information they provided me to give them. I also asked to speak to someone about the call I received the night before and low and behold Donna was sitting right there and proceeded to argue with me that her call saved me a bunch of time and heartache and "I DID NOTHING WRONG". This all at the front desk, in front of the whole staff and waiting room. Donna, its not what you said, its HOW YOU SAID IT. I should have stopped there. Iget called to the back and not only got the round the face xray, but literally the "bite xrays" upper and lower for my whole mouth. They took 13 xrays, 12 that were usable. Get taken to the chair. The chair had a rip in it. I know this may sound petty, but seriously? Your a professional practice and you have a large hole on the side of the chair you have people sitting in? Glad my gynecologist does not have the same low standards......So they look at my teeth, do the check to "see what kind of cleaning" I need. Then two dentists show up. Neither seemed to know who was going to work on me so I picked one. Literally said, lets go with "him" cuz he was cuter. Keep in mind both had masks on so it was definitely a joke on my part. This "Dentist" proceeded to show me my xrays and their fancy tool showing what my smile would look like. When I attempted to tell him about an issue he poo poo'd me. YOU COULD LITERALLY SEE the issue I was speaking about on the xray and frankly if I attached a pic you can see where I used a cheap teeth bleaching product and fell asleep and so my two front teeth have enamel worn off. You can see it in the mirror. This "Dentist" just dismissed it. We discussed implants and while doing so he said and "we'll just pull this tooth and put in an implant". To this day I still do not know why he wanted to pull a perfectly good tooth to put in an implant. I had been there 1.5 hours at this point and still had no idea about getting my teeth cleaned. Yes dear reader, nothing was being said about a cleaning. Only the implants and bleaching. Getting tired at this point I asked the Dentist if there was anything else and he said no. He took me to the billing representative. Cara and I had a blast until she showed me $12,000.00 bill. It was Cara who explained I would need a bone graft to hold up two of the implants. It was Cara explained the procedures and how they worked. It was Cara who told me she would get back to me the next day with alternative treatments as I was in tears and apparently after handing Cara the information, the "Dentist" left the building. I should have stopped there. I did not receive any information from Cara the next day. I should have stopped there. I emailed Cara the following week and received no response. I should have stopped there. I called and found out Cara was out for the week. I forwarded the email regarding all my new questions to the person I spoke with. I requested copies of my films. I did receive a link to their online portal to view my films. But nothing from the dentist in regards to my care. i should have stopped there. My insurance has patient advocates. I called one and she called them and they never returned her call. I should have stopped there. They send you a shit ton of emails and requests to do referrals and surveys etc. I received 10 emails from March 3rd to March 15 all asking for surveys, offering me a discount, and one "Regional Manager" Joshua Crowell with his phone number (321) 417-0096 stating that if needed anything to give him a call. I did, left him a message....that was over two weeks from this writing and I have not received a call back. So................I stopped. In addition to all of the above, the insurance company stated that they did not even get a preauthorization for any of the treatment they purported I needed. The same day you have your general cleaning you need to book 6 months out in advance because they are so busy, which is already alittle ridiculous. About a week before my appointment I receive a text saying my appointment was canceled and that I need to call and reschedule. Okay, sure I'm thinking they can fit me in within the next week or 2 since it was a last minute cancellation that was NOT my doing. The dentist and staff were very unprofessional. I went for my initial appointment. The doctor laid out a plan for over 20k of work. When I balked at the price, he came out and told his office manager he didn't think I would go for it. I made an appointment for my teeth to be cleaned as I was told all teeth cleaning needs to be done before ANY work can be done. What they did was a "deep" clean on my teeth. I did not authorize this service. It felt the same as all of my regular teeth cleanings have, in the past. The office manager took me to her desk to go over the long list of work they wanted to do. I told her there was no way I needed all that work. I had been to my dentist in South Carolina 3 months earlier and there was no problem. Her desk was in the open where staff and patients are. This is an update to my previous review. I went to anothet dentist in Melbourne after the disaster at Aspen Dental. The new dentist said that I have a cavity between my front teeth that I will have filled this week. He showed it to me on my x-rays and it was obvious when he examined my teeth he said. Aspen Dental charged me for an exam, but didn't do more than a cursory look. Aspen Dental also never bothered to look at the x-rays as it was obvious even to my untrained eyes after a reputable dentist pointed it out to me. Also the new dentist said I DO NOT have gingivitis and do not need any treatment other than a cleaning. BEWARE the ONLY treatment is the most expensive treatment. Even with insurance they find ways to add to your bill calling it their "high standards" of care. If you have a copay they will find a way to charge you a lot more than what they agreed to charge when contracting with your insurance company. They have a contract with your insurance company but have found ways to make your agreed upon copay a lot more. None of which will be covered by your insurance. Call your insurance company and ask them how many complaints they have received on just this Aspen dental office. If you decline the "extra" treatment whether it is an oral rinse or irrigation of your gums or half a dozen other treatments they will refuse to treat you. They want you to pay in advance when you make your appointment. Just go somewhere else and remember if you have to use them call your insurance and find out in advance what the charge should be for your treatment and exactly what your copay should be. Dr. Marius is a professional and caring dentist. He is the only dentist I want for crowns or any other dental care. He corrected a problem crown another dentist had inserted which fell out three times. He takes his time and makes sure that the crown is seated correctly and the bite is perfect. The procedure was painless. I cannot express how much I appreciate him. In addition, his office staff is friendly and efficient. During this Covid 19 virus, you could not find a cleaner dental office. They not only wear the required PPE, Dr. Markus wore a sterilized gown during the procedure. In June of 2018 I had all of my upper teeth extracted in preparation of dentures. I am still wearing the temporary dentures the gave me back in June. They are very uncomfortable,I am unable to eat with them, and only wear them when I go out. The reason I still have the temporary dentures is because they are incapable of getting the bite right. They have made 2 sets of dentures so far,the last one the bite so bad I could hardly talk. I have cerebral palsy which affects my right side. Aspen Dental has been aware of this from the very beginning. Everytime I go for a fitting, they tell me I have a very difficult mouth to make dentures for. I'm assuming that my CP somehow after my jaw also. On Monday when I was at the dentist he again said I had a very difficult mouth and I should see a dentist that specializes in this. I finally had all I could take and asked him if my mouth SO difficult why did they say that they could do dentures for me. His answer was Good Point. I left in tears. I am making payments of 115.00 per month on my over 4000.00 bill for teeth I do not have. My visit to Aspen Dental, also known as Healing Smiles PLLC, was highly unsatisfactory and very stressful. After a full mouth of x-rays (panoramic and bite wing) my mouth was irritated because the bite wings were too large for my mouth. I requested children's bite wings but the request went unacknowledged. The dentist then examined and stated there was nothing wrong with my teeth but I would need a Periodontal scaling and Root planing because my gums were sore (duh), attempting to charge my insurance company $1,848.00 for the 4 quadrants, leaving me with a balance of $767.00. After reviewing the charges I realized that this is quite the scam. I went for my free cleaning and yearly prevention and this is what they wanted to charge me. Aspen dental manager, Donna, never mentioned that I can get my free yearly cleaning and then the scaling, if I so requested. No one answered my calls for 9 weeks. All calls went to a call center or if I was able to leave a message, there was a "broken" (no beep) auto-call that would allow me to leave a message. My messages were not returned for 6 weeks. I requested a refund of my $200.00 deposit after feeling forced to leave one and waited 9 weeks for it to be returned to my credit card. I do not recommend this West Melbourne office! read more

I have been a patient at Aspen Dental for a few years. I had an old filling break in a molar and they were the dentist office that would see me first. I was informed that there was no way to put a new filling in the tooth and I would need a root canal and crown. Because I did not have insurance and have been having employment issues. I had to make the choice to have the tooth pulled. I should have known that things would not go well when the dentist complained to me about how many teeth he has had to pull recently. He got the job done and my only complaint at the time was that I felt like I was on an assembly line, I was just another widget that the doctor had to work on to meet quota. I have never been a person that needed to be coddled at the dentist, but having the dentist take a few minutes to be friendly to put you at ease seems typical for the profession, not at Aspen Dental. I am at that age where my old fillings are breaking and the usual method of correcting the issue is root canal and crown, I had to have another molar pulled on the same side which means I was doing most of my chewing on the other side. This put stress on my last filling and it broke as well. This is where I really started having issues with Aspen Dental. I was informed I needed (I bet you can guess?) a root canal and crown as well as a filling in another tooth next to it. Don't get me wrong, I did not want or could afford a root canal and crown. I was resigned to the fact that I really did not have a choice and asked for a referral for the root canal as Aspen Dental does not perform this procedure after they filled the tooth that broke. I checked over the form I was to provide to the Endodontist (root canal doctor) and the doctor had indicated one of the teeth I had extracted a year ago. When I questioned the dental assistant about the error she said she would have to talk to the doctor. I could see the assistant waiting on the doctor who was talking to the office manager about something. After minutes, the doctor grabbed the form and revised it. He managed to get the correct side this time but it looked like he had indicated the tooth that was just filled. When I questioned this, he left the assistant and me to wait again. Everything could have been cleared up, if he had taken 5 min. to talk to me and assure me he got the right tooth this time around. But whatever he was talking about with the office manager was more important than making sure I didn't spend $2000+ on getting a root canal and crown on the wrong tooth. I walked out of Aspen Dental not being sure which tooth needed the surgery. The Endodontist thoroughly checked my teeth and informed me that none of my teeth needed a root canal and recommended that I have a filling ASAP in the tooth in question. I went directly back to Aspen Dental to schedule the filling. When I showed up for my appointment for the filling I was informed that this was only a doctor consult appointment, which the doctor was again too busy to talk to me and had his assistant play messenger. When I complained about all the errors being made and the doctor not even talking to me on a "doctor consult visit" I was told "everybody makes mistakes" and would a month from now (it was Aug 4 - appointment Aug 28) be ok for the filling? When I said I did not want to wait a month the office manager said, "it's not a month." REALLY??? Final thoughts, if you are ok being treated like a walking dollar sign with teeth. If you are ok with your doctor being too busy or negligent to take 5 min. to ensure the correct tooth gets drilled. Then Aspen Dental will be fine. Whoa! I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow (the soonest I could get in) because I have excruciating pain in my lower jaw. But, after reading the reviews, not so sure I want to keep the appointment. $80 for an office visit? Wow! That's steep. I don't have insurance, I don't even have a job right now and I'm living on a shoe string. Hope I can find some place today!!! read more

Of course Aspen Dental will always blame the patient. There motto is who cares there is always someone else they can take to the cleaners.
