Suzanne is a great manager and makes everyone feel at home at the Arts Garage. So glad to be back at this great venue for fabulous blues! Saw Joey Gilmore and the TCB Express on the 3rd - high powered show! So glad we went. I attended the Selwyn Birchwood show on Friday June 23rd. The music was fantastic..he is an extremely talented blues guitarist and singer. Great band. What was the best part of the set was his interaction with the audience...personable and approachable. The Arts Garage is a wonderful venue. Casual, intimate and comfortable. Had a great first experience here for Feedback, Art Garage's poetry/open mic night which seems to be the first Thursday of every month. It's $5 for patrons and free for performers. Also very cool that you can bring your own whatever- food AND drink :) For those you who don't know what Art Garage is (I didn't up until recently), it's a venue that hosts a variety of different acts- musical performers, comedy, art, etc. And not necessarily local performers. There is a stage and a decent amount of tables and chairs, but I heard when events are sold out, people end up just standing in the back. There's a parking garage next door or you can try your luck at street parking in Pineapple Grove. Anyway, I came in the hopes of getting inspired by local creatives as I used to dabble in poetry myself and wanted to get back into writing (and maybe one day share my own pieces). I loved it! So many performers of all ages with different writing styles, a few of them were even first timers sharing work inspired by fellow Feedback performers when they attended for the first time- it was uplifting. One great thing they started doing was a "community poem" where everyone in attendance adds their own line to a poem started by the MC that becomes one collective poem that is read by the MC at the end of the night. It happened to be their first time doing the community poem the night I attended so it was really neat to be a part of. Also the DJ who was filling in for whoever usually is there had a great set- perfect chill, R&B vibes the whole night...wish I had been able to catch his name to check him out if he plays locally. Nevertheless, I will definitely be back to check them out next month. read more

Just saw another great show last Saturday at Arts Garage. Always well run, great sound and a true music venue. They even sent out an email that day to warn of possible parking issues that night due to an art & craft event as well as a tennis event. Over and above service as always from house manager Suzanne and a great cast of employees and volunteers. read more

First time there this weekend. Saw Stanley plays Jimi. Wow. Great performance and great venue. Intimate, really good sound, run by a very welcoming group of volunteers, met some new people at our table, and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back to see more shows. read more

We saw a fabulous show at the 'Arts Garage' in Delray Beach last night, 8/13/22 and saw a comedian named "Sarge! The Comedian". He is hysterical and had the audience rolling with laughter for almost 2 hours! We saw his videos on YouTube a few months ago. We were really so looking forward to Sarge's show and he did NOT disappoint! The Arts Garage is a beautiful space dedicated to helping emerging talent in all of the arts! I am so happy we have a place like this in our community. Please look them up and check out their upcoming events and/or think about making a tax deductible donation. What a wonderful place in Delray Beach. If your looking for a fun date night, guys night or girls night, this is the place to go. Lots of different entertainment scheduled each month. We specifically went second Tuesday of the month, for open mic night! It was fabulous! I strongly suggest going to their website to purchase your tickets/seats in advance, as the place fills up quickly. Tickets are $5 if purchased in advance on their website or $7 at the door. They have a bar set up to purchase drinks. You can NOT bring in any beverages, as they do have them for purchase before and during the show. They do allow you to bring in food of any kind. We brought in popcorn, mixed nuts, cheese and crackers, and some candy. Other guest brought in a variety of takeout, sandwiches, desserts and some other homemade foods. There is a parking garage right next to Arts Garage that is convenient, inexpensive and takes cash or credit. Just know or take a pic of you license plate number to enter in the machine to pay for parking right after you park. Ms. Suzanne is the Manager of Arts Garage and was very pleasant to speak with, offering us lots of information on the other upcoming events throughout the month. We will definitely be back to support such a fabulous place. read more

Last night was memorable. I attended the Jean Caze show with my husband, son and his fiancé along with her parents. My husband knows Jean since he too is a musician with Eric & The Jazzers. We had a BALL listening to Jean combine standard jazz feel with a twist of Haitian music. It was more evident when he blew into a Conch Shell and explained the importance of it back in the days of slavery. I would strongly attend another Jean Caze show at the Arts garage! Review based on front desk and bar staff on Open Mic Night 12/14/2021. Front desk - specifically the woman sitting on the left as one is looking at the window - unfriendly and unwelcoming. Smile. Be friendly. Your job IS customer service, is it not? Bar staff - We were the only two people standing in front of them. We were completely ignored for a couple minutes while the two "battenders" chatted. When they finally decided to serve us, I was SHOCKED that my mixed drink (basically, a gin and tonic) was $17. (No, that is not a typo: $17). I thought it was rung-up wrong. Nope. Here's the thing - THE PRICE WAS NOT POSTED ANYWHERE! The woman "bartender" said it was. I asked her to show me where - she looked and said, "Nope, it is not posted." $17 for a medium sized mixed drink (that had very little alcohol) is ridiculous. Prices should be posted. Yes, I can afford to spend $17, but no one likes feeling ripped-off and taken advantage of. We will be back as we enjoyed Open Mic, but will buy tickets online so we do not have to deal with the front desk staff and WILL NOT spend any money on refreshments. Here's the thing - had we been charged a reasonable amount for a drink, we would buy a drink (or two) next time - and the next time - and so on. By being greedy and ripping off customers, you are actually making less money in the long run. read more

Excellent venue to see a performance.I was about to give a 5 star review,But I just recently received breaking news. They no longer will be letting patrons bring there own alcoholic drinks.Sorry to drop a star for that,but for me it was a cool part of the experience.That's what set this venue apart from the others. We recently saw Davina and the Vagabonds, with 2 other couples.We all brought our own small cooler.We had wine, beer, and bourbon and gingerale,with chips , pretzels and a few other snacks,that we also brought with us. Performance was amazing!! Been going to see different performers over the years.They changed the seating arrangement,for the better.They got rid of 2 rows of general admission seats that they used to line up against the back wall and added general admission tables instead.The Arts Garage Stuart and Shelby Theatre has 28 tables.16 premium,9 reserved and 3 gen.admin.We got a reserved table of 6 , ticket prices were 30 bucks each.There isn't a bad table spot in the house,very cozy,great sound.If you would like to see your performer up close,this is the place to go.Parking garage is right next to the theatre ,for a 5 dollar charge.pretty good price for parking in Delray.Plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from,before or after the show.They are now selling beer and wine,and light snacks,not exactly sure what you can bring in,if anything,better call beforehand.For me personally,I would rather pay a little more for the price of a ticket,and bring my own drinks,maybe price the tickets accordingly, but no one asked me for my advice. read more

Always great to go to the Arts Garage. It is such a local hometown gem. Tonight we saw Omar Soso and his African Cuban band. The were a group of old school guys that rocked a jazz/ African style. They were incredibly talented and awesome. This little talent mine has 8 to 10 round tables that seat 8 people. You can share a table with strangers who quickly become new friends or purchase general seating in the back. No seat is bad in such a small venue. No show is bad either. They attract world renown talent such as the song writer Jimmy Web and so many different acts. Byob or appetizer or cheese and crackers... Many people go to the nearby wine bar and bring in wine and snacks. Whatever you'd like to snack on. This place is great. Tickets are $20-$50 depending on the talent. The shows last 2 hrs. Support the local places so they will be here when you want them. read more

Great venue! It's been around along time in all my years in Florida , and love of music what a terrific find . The view from every seat was perfect and I should know I was running around with my camera capturing the if the place and the band . If you head over there I would recommend the restaurant across the street it was Eclectic the food was wonderful . They offered indoor and outdoor seating. read more

Incredible venue - small - probably 150 people. Wonderful shows and sound acoustics are terrific. I've had many visits there and have never been disappointed. You can bring your own food and snacks but you must buy their drinks which include water, soda, beer and liquor. Not to be missed! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Marjorie W.

CEO Marjorie Waldo, M.Ed., a graduate of the University of Virginia with a BA in Drama, received her Master's in Educational Leadership from FAU. A career educator with over 25 years' experience, Marjorie's passion was founded in building schools where the most vulnerable students feel loved and respected. Her work supported the high school graduation of over 200 dropouts. A turn-around expert, she is accomplished at strategic planning, organizational growth, and programming. With a love for small not for profits, Marjorie honed her skills in fundraising & development, successfully managed budgets ranging from $1 to $8 million and has written over $2 Million successful grants. Marjorie's love for the performing arts is rooted in her belief that their universality gives theater and music the power to foster a sense of belonging for a beautifully diverse population and to heal communities by bringing people together.

Blue Gallery was founded 14 years ago by owner Rami Rotkopf who grew up in the family art business in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 2017 they expanded into the 5,000 square foot location next door. Inside Blue Gallery is room after room of modern art, ceramics, sculptures, etchings, paintings stretching down Atlantic Ave. Some of the 31 world famous artists represented in the Blue Gallery collection include David Schluss, Red Head, Patrick Pease, David D'Or, Ron Agam, Niso Maman, Avi Ram, Benda, Neil Loeb, and Lior Ron. While eating lunch across the street I noticed the beautiful display windows of the Avalon Gallery so after I finished I had to come over and check them out. Avalon is owned by John M. Terry and Mavis L.R. Benson and they represent over 120 artists in the U.S. and Canada. The gallery is filled with beautiful artist blown glass in all price points. Glass is one of my favorite mediums so I enjoyed exploring all of the beautiful pieces. In addition to glass they also have jewelry, ceramics, lamps, furniture, and wall art. If you can't come to the gallery in person you can look at what they have available on their website but they don't sell on online. You have to contact them directly if you see something you want to purchase. They will also consult with you to find exactly what you want. You can really get the personal touch here. If you can visit I highly recommend it. You really need to see in person how these beautiful works of glass art capture the light.

The entrance begins at E Atlantic Avenue and NE 4th Ave. and proceeds north for two full blocks. The art is set up in tents on the closed off street. You can get free parking at the I-Pic garage and walk the block over. The event attracted over 100 exhibitors showcasing hand created art works which included glass, photography, paint, mixed media, jewelry, metal, wood, and textiles. My favorite art in the festival were the colorful dog paintings, the pictures made out of colored pencils, anything with mermaid s and flamingos, and the whimsical mailboxes. The weather was gorgeous and I always love visiting Delray Beach. There are a ton of great places to eat and drink steps away from the fair on Atlantic Avenue. If you missed this art fair, there will be another one held on January 15th at SE 5th St over the Intracoastal and extending on to A1A. Nothing beats enjoying beautiful weather at art fairs in January in Florida.

There are two entrances opposite one another: one is for the Rosenbaum and the other is for RFA Decor (and something else which I forget). I'm so glad I saw an event listing on the Cultural Council website for the last show at the Rosenbaum Contemporary: Two Generations Roberto Matta and Frederica Matta. This show paired father and daughter, whose artwork had only been exhibited together one other time, over 20 years ago, in their country of Chile. I wish I had seen the listing earlier so that I could share the art show with friends... because it was excellent! Thanks a million to the mega awesome Gabriel who jumped up from his lunch break to enthusiastically give my family and I a private tour. He was passionate, informative and completely dedicated to the artists and the works. I was nearly overwhelmed by all the additional interpretations, background stories and explanations that Gabriel shared, not only about each piece but about the lives of the artists themselves, their intentions and their relationship. I felt so special and privileged to see the artworks in such a heightened, enhanced way; I still have many of the images seared into my brain. Thanks you, Gabriel! When I first walked up to the building, I found both entrances to the Contemporary blocked by metal chains with signs directing me to the 'other entrance.' I found this frustrating and vague, but I complied and walked a few steps to the adjoining entrance to RFA Decor. Unfortunately, when I entered, the woman who came up to help me told me that the show was probably closed for the lunch hour. I was pretty upset, as I had checked both Yelp and the homepage to make sure that the Rosenbaum would be open when we were able to finally make it there. It wasn't closed though; the only dedicated Contemporary employee was taking his lunch break and letting potential visitors find their way through from next door. My experience rapidly went from a 1 to a 5.

Hard not to agree with Josie. I am a retired traveling rock and blues (major acts) and studio musician (LA, NY, Nashville, Muscle Shoals, London). After 40+ years of work I have lost 35% of hearing in both ears. An occupational hazard. THE MUSIC HERE IS TOO LOUD. If I find it loud it is damaging the hearing of the members of the audience. As this place has become more successful (great job) the egos has grown proportionately and those in charge don't seem to want to listen. TURN THE VOLUME DOWN. Has anyone ever complained that the volume is too low? The idea of earplugs is idiotic and even laughable. The club has a good sound system - good fidelity and robust. Earplugs destroy this. Turn it down. read more

Marjorie - The house manager shouldn't need a volunteer to inform her of this. If people leaving the show is not sending the message, then I don't know what will. As a volunteer I have heard this issue many times and the only response I have ever received when I brought it to the house manager's attention is that "the band determines the volume level." This borders on ignorance IMO. Is not the audience a consideration? Is the band paying for the tickets? Earplugs are not the answer. Lowering the volume is. This is a total no-brainer. As a volunteer and a donor, I respectfully ask you to address this situation while I still can hear. read more

The Arts Garage is fabulous. The entertainment and talent are the best anywhere in Florida. Last night we saw the show Woodstock. Wow. The place was rocking with high energy and fun. Any show you see there is so fantastic. You get treated special by the ushers who take you to your table and always friendly. We can bring our own food and there is a bar to purchase drinks.. You must go to experience the night. You'll walk away feeling like you were in a New York City Cabaret, with the best entertainment and service. I feel lucky to have a place like this to go to here in Florida. read more

The price for the event was way out of range for the evening, tickets were pricey at $100 a person (times that by two persons). I did have some expectation of quality food and entertainment, baked Ziti and Lasagna (for $100) OMG "really?" and Trio Caliente (unfortunately missed the beat of Spanish or anything close to the sound Gipsy Kings). I had an absolutely amazing experience at arts garage, I went to see Grammy award winning musician Alex Cuba and I had tremendous amount of fun. When I got to the Arts Garage, the people working there were very welcoming and helpful to guiding me to my table. And once the performance started I knew this was going to be a night to remember, the music was truly beautiful and the atmosphere was perfect. Nice venue but music is often too loud. Fair prices for tickets but not snacks and drinks which are ridiculously high. 40 bucks for an $10 bottle of wine?? Great team of employees, but the woman at the box office can be curt and irritable at times. Could use some attitude adjustment perhaps. Otherwise a nice place to hear music. Parking on weekends is impossible take a cab or Uber or be prepared to walk. Forget the garage. Always full. read more

This place is amazing! It is an art gallery that has live shows. I saw an incredible jazz artist, Turk Mauro, from New York, one night, and another night I saw the most amazing art exhibit, in charcoal and other media, along with an amazing Drag performance that brought the house down. They have had Brazilian music, classical and alternative, and there is lots more jazz coming. Check this place out! read more

We were curious what Haitian Jazz would sound like so we bought tickets at Art's Garage for the Wednesday night show featuring Jean Chardavoine. We were pleasantly surprised for the beautiful music that we heard. Anyone who missed this show missed some of hottest Jazz sounds I have ever heard. The concert is on the last Thursday of the month from 6 to 9 PM. This week the headliner was Love Song, a Cure tribute band. Unfortunately their lead singer was sick but they put on a great show with New Wave classics and Cure songs. The weather was perfect for a night of music under the stars. Bring a chair and your friends and have a great evening out. The event has food trucks and they sell alcohol, soda, and water. Outside coolers are not permitted. The Old School Square bathrooms are open so you don't have to worry about port a potties like at a lot of other festivals. Next month is Hot Brass, a Chicago and Earth, Wind, and Fire tribute band. After the concert there is a number of restaurants and bars open on Atlantic, a few steps away. I highly recommend stopping at Sloan's for ice cream.
