Our party of 11 was turned away yesterday for Father's Day by Another Broken Egg Cafe in Delray, so we went to Silverball for lunch instead. We had planned on going there for games afterward anyway. I didn't play any of the games, but I must say we were VERY impressed with the reception staff, wait staff, and food. They were kind do us and very attentive. There was a lot more on the menu than I had originally thought. I had the Chicken Caesar Wrap with the Jersey fries, and they were both very yummy. The thin-crust pizzas had a great crunch, spicy marinara, good cheese, and a nice char if you like that sort of thing. The kids enjoyed the quesadillas and mozzarella sticks. My husband enjoyed the wings, though he would have liked more sauce. You DO need to pay to park, but that is to be expected in that high-traffic location in Delray. I was surprised it was only $4.75 for two hours. We would definitely return to Silverball if we're in the area and want to grab cocktails and good quality bar food. read more

Super fun experience! On this particular night, they had a live band playing so it was a great plus. I was impressed with the amount of pinball machines. Some of them are very old and still working. So you pay a price at the door and they give you a wristband for unlimited plays. The price changes depending on time and event so check it out or call before going. Silverball is always a great time, for those who enjoy modern or vintage games. Their assortment is fantastic and well maintained and I appreciate the information cards they have on most games giving you some history! The staff is always friendly (shout out to Noah, who not only keeps things running but a pleasure to talk to and learn even more things about the games you find there!). The bar is also a nice place to hang and enjoy some drinks. They are currently under renovation until November I understand, but keeping quite an assortment of games available... For no entry fee! My recent visit to Silver Ball Retro Arcade marked my third time enjoying an evening there. It isn't a very large building, but boy do they pack the fun in. There are two levels, filled with classic and collector's pinball machines going back several decades. There are also a ton of retro video games from my youth. There are bars upstairs and downstairs, and I believe food is available as well. Parking can be a little tricky, but by having a little patience, you'll find a spot soon enough. There is a public lot just adjacent to the arcade. Your admission gets you access to all the pinballs, video games, and skee ball. I'd plan for at least two hours to enjoy all the games. The people who work the register are quite nice. If you go on their website and join their mailing list, they frequently have deals for tickets or gift cards. Their specials are very generous and can make for an affordable and fun night out. I would probably visit here more often if I lived near Delray. I absolute love this place. It's a free play arcade, filled with so much nostalgia, every pinball game imaginable, and a bunch more arcade games from every era. The skee ball is salvaged from Coney Island, and it's like playing a piece of history. The lights and sounds are so soothing, with two floors of games and bars. The staff is all super friendly, from the folks at the door, the bars, and the maintenance folks making sure the games are always running. I have the monthly membership, $30 for unlimited free play, and it's so worth it. For $50 you can bring a guest every time too! The food is typical bar food, so I just come for the games. They offer food and beer specials on every night, in addition to $5 off unlimited play for seniors on Mondays. Ladies night on Wednesdays 8p - 11p for 50% off drinks. We ordered the thin pizza and chicken wings which both were great tasting. A Jack and Coke and a cold beer and we were off the the pinball and stand up arcade games. My favorite pinball machine was the Kiss and Motley Crue. The Galaga was my favorite arcade game. We played Skee Ball was super fun too. The bathroom was unisex and clean. This was a cute little activity spot to hit up before a dinner reservation in Downtown Delray. In the heart of downtown, right next to the main train tracks, the colorful building filled with lights is a stand alone hidden behind a restaurant. We went during golden hour, but I can definitely see it getting a little sketchy when its darker outside. Thankfully, downtown seemed to be bustling even on a Tuesday. The Retro Arcade is sort of museum of vintage pinball games. There's also skeeball, a basketball shooting game, some race car arcade games, etc. Upstairs there's also shuffle board, and air hockey. Really cool. There is a tilt bar downstairs, and another upstairs. It is $15/hour and anything over an hour is considered a half day, which is a different price. read more

What a nice surprise. I didn't really know what to expect. A wide variety of games made the experience so enjoyable. The fact that almost all worked was relieving. A fun, old-school spot right off Atlantic Ave. It feels more like a dive bar but with a twist. While we've never eaten here, our friends have said they have great pizza and the drinks are what you would find at most dive bars - nothing fancy, but priced lower than other bars.
