When I checked in with the receptionist, she said that patients were being prioritized based on age rather than urgency. That approach feels backwards--while I completely understand prioritizing patients with more serious conditions, it's frustrating when scheduled appointments are significantly delayed without clear reasoning. If delays are unavoidable, there should be better communication or a system in place to keep patients informed. Everyone's time matters, and clearer expectations would go a long way in improving the experience or making use of time more productively.

I cannot begin to explain the amount of empathy and care their team gave to my entire family in this process. Since our baby was 100+ pounds it was hard for my elderly father to help carry him. In response to this their team was waiting for Hopper with a gurney and took over to make the whole process somewhat easier on us. Even being away, they let me do some of the paperwork over the phone so our family did not have to be there longer than they needed to be. My father told me about how exceptional their crew was that night and how much compassion they had for Hopper and our family. If you were working the day of 2/19 around 4AM, your kindness truly touched us and made us feel safe leaving our baby in your hands. I can't begin to thank you enough from the bottom of my heart.
