Jimmy and his staff changed my cars engine in a couple of days, thinking it would had been a week or so, but not here. The price?! significantly lower from what other shops were asking! Specially the dealer, half of the cost! The job? new engine installation, fluids, new battery, and vehicle inspected! Its been a few days and the vehicle is running like new, no leaks and I'm even taking it back soon for a free oil change! (requirements for new engine installation). I replaced the bumper with an OEM part and decided to give High Street Garage a try as Eric down at Pete's Garage has spoken highly of them when I have asked about Inspections in the past. I drove down there and saw an older man with white hair in the open inspection bay. I walked up, said hi and asked if they were doing inspections. He must have seen me drive in with the "R" sticker. He immediately started in on me saying he would not inspect the vehicle and I should go back to where it was initially inspected. I just asked why he wouldn't do the inspection and he just got louder and said "if I didn't repair it, I won't re inspect it." It was an OEM bumper for christ sakes, and it took me all of 2 hours to remove and replace. This was the first time I have had a vehicle rejected so I was not aware of the need to go back to the original inspection station. I would have thought that since these are State Inspections, the process would be uniform across all service stations. It looked to me like he was having a bad Monday and decided to give a bit of that attitude to me. I'll cross this station off my list. Not the way to treat a person or a potential customer.

He is incredibly honest and knows his stuff, and he has a top-notch mechanic working with him. He does not say something is needed unless it is needed. I have saved so much money and worry since I discovered Patrick when I moved to Topsfield two years ago. Going to him is the best decision I have made since moving here. Patrick is kind, understanding, and caring. He gets the job done in a timely way. My car is old, so he could have easily convinced me that I needed stuff done. He is the opposite. He tells me I can wait, to come back to have it checked in a month or two -- at no charge. (I am on a tight budget.) There is still stuff that he checks that have not gotten worse. The car, with 107,000 miles, runs beautifully, thanks to this place. Even when they do an oil change, they check other things, including the tire pressure. I don't even have to ask. They do so much!
