I usually am not a Mediterranean food person but this Turkish spot which opened within the past year has brought back some interest in this cuisine in the way of kabobs, baba ghanoush, and flat breads. Located on West Henrietta near the mattress store, it is part of the movement of middle eastern eats that have increased in presence in Henrietta recently including Layali coffee house down the street. Highly recommend. Mom/pop store kind of feel, very casual, and unassuming. it's definitely on the end of hole in the wall, no frills. Greatest hits to order here: chicken kabob (best in my opinion of all their meats), the baba ghanoush is a good one, pair with a turkish tea, and must pistachio/nut type of dessert from their giant counter of bakes. Meats: get the giant platter of a little bit of everything. That will feed 2 people for sure. Must get that baba ghanoush. This place advertises their Pide which is a pizza but I found these options pretty heavy on dough and oil, which is not my thing but may be good for the pizza/dough lover. Drinks: must get that turkish red tea. Its basically just good red hot tea served in a glass delicate looking cup that makes you feel like you're in some Arabian Nights royal. Dessert- I've tried almost all the baklava and nut bakes by now. Did not like the pistachio cake. Couldn't tell if it was stale or if that was how it's supposed to be Service each time is warm with the servers not being overly chatty, loud, or hovering. If anything especially at dinner, the servers look quite tired as it's usually only 1-2 people and the place is super crowded. Last order of the night is 8 pm. The food comes relatively fast actually.

We were in the area looking for an ethnic food place, and found As Evi. This meal was delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly and very tender. Would definitely go back again.

4.5 Stars Newish Turkish restaurant in Henrietta. Mom and pop feel. Very bright and clean inside. Also have a big display case of Turkish with a large assortment of treats. Enjoyed my kabobs and rice. I will be back.

This place came highly recommeded to me by a self proclaimed foodie. I was excited to try it, a bit of foodie myself. When I walked in staff were busy then disappeared. i got someones attention. he just looked at me: confused. i asked "how does this work (as if to say do i seat myself, order here, there...), brief silence..i asked "are yall open?" though i could see a couple tables filled with people eating...maybe a private party i thought. He said "yes" Pause. I said, "can i eat?" He said "yes" and looked at tables. I sat at a table that had a couple dirty cups pushed to the side. Most tables looked dirty but this one wasnt bad. It took him a while to ask me for order. I only knew what I wanted because I found a menu tucked between seat and wall. Thankfully I googled the dishes I wanted so i didnt need to ask questions. the waiter didnt seem to be interested in this type of conversation. For appetizer, i originally ordered lebni but they were out, they were out of cacik too (my 2nd choice). Waiter encouraged me to get hummus and baba ganoush. Eventually my hot, fresh food came out. It was soooo good! I chalked up the initial encounter to culture maybe. But then I finished meal and set it to the side to bring half home. And I waited...and waited. I was busy with some personal things on my phone so was able to pass time as i went solo. Well, the waiter didnt check on me at all after the food arrived. I saw people cash out at register with him...so maybe i needed to stand up and do the same. I was able to get him to give me a box and let him know I'd like to pick a dessert and pay out. He said "ok, just wait". He took care of other guests..and other guests...and other guests and then he disappeared. I got the eye of another gentleman that came to clean tables. This gentleman was very nice and said "you've been waiting the whole time? I'm soo sorry". I told him the other guy said he'd help me over 30min ago. I picked a couple desserts and he added a few of his favorite cookies for free for the waiting. He told me about what ingrediants they included with pride, interest, and respect. I was the only English-only speaking person that I saw come and go that I was aware of. I can't help but wonder if the 1st man was discriminating against me. While the 2nd man was very courteous and the food was on point...and I love trying new-to-me authentic international flavors..I am not sure if I'm ok to go back...maybe just get a To-go order or maybe I'm just not welcome. I was there about 2 hours total, most of my time was spent waiting. Oh, those dirty cups ...were still at my table when I left...from the previous customers. This was simply my experience this evening. I do wish the business well and hope others do not experience the same.

We began our dinner with dessert, as Santa would! When you walk into "AsEvi", the first thing that greets you are two dessert counters loaded with goodies that look almost too good to eat! We selected an assortment of treats from the delicacy of desserts. The dining room is simple with booths along the wall and some tables in the center. The restaurant appeared to be family run, friendly and it was a bit difficult to get the attention of someone to serve us at times. The food however, made the slight inconvenience worth the wait. Delicious grilled meats (beef, chicken, doner sausage), fresh salad and amazing flavors! Be careful of the jalapeño, they are SPICY! Well seasoned and piping hot French fries. We would definitely come back for all of the foods! Satisfying. Savory. Scrumptious.

They offer large portions. Their cheese bread was delish and baked to order. The rice was flavorful and went well with the grilled meat.

For Mother's Day, my wife wanted a Turkish breakfast. She was recalling a previous year where we took the kids to a small cafe that had a Turkish menu. That cafe has since gone, but I was delighted to find Aş Evi since my own attempts to make her a "Turkish-inspired" breakfast were... unsuccessful. We were the first customers of the day and felt very welcome. Our hostess was patient in explaining the menu items to us and we decided to go with the larger of the two Turkish breakfasts. It was a massive array of food -- like a plussed-up version of the Turkish breakfast we had years ago. The breads were warm and fresh, and the cheeses and dips were plentiful. Due to our seat across from the bakery case, we knew we'd be taking some items back for the kids. So we picked out some treats before paying our check. I'm so happy that a place like this exists in Rochester. High quality, authentic food and a family-run friendly feel.

Aş Evi (2) is located in Henrietta, NY and is the second location of this restaurant. It's run by a family from the Karadeniz Region of Turkey and offers the same wonderful selection of food as their first location plus a huge selection of dessert. Both locations, in my opinion, offer amazing food that is on par and even better than many restaurants in Turkey. When you walk in, you feel like you're eating at a small restaurant in Istanbul or Ankara. Whenever I'm missing Turkey, I come back here and instantly feel at home. This was the first time trying this location and I ordered my favorites, the lahmacun and the beyti kebap. Both were amazing as always. We ended the meal with the baklava, which is also lovely and paired well with çay. The family of the restaurant is lovely and truly feel like my own family after all of these years. I highly recommend a visit. It's well worth the hour drive from Buffalo. 10/10.

A bite of cake and the famous Dubai chocolate bar!

If you've been searching for the viral phenomenon the Dubai chocolate bar... this is the place to go! A spontaneous decision to visit this unassuming bakery lead to amazing discoveries! Not only is the customer service some of the most friendly I've experienced, but the desserts are amazing! And yes, they have the "Dubai chocolate" bar! Handmade, with 2 size options! Get there fast! Once word gets out I'm sure they'll be in hot demand!

So delicious I'm in a full food coma - just couldn't stop eating! Fantastic mixed grill - all meat really tender and well spiced, and delicious Turkish dumplings. Absolutely huge portions too - definitely recommend.

It also would have been a nice touch if they offered coffee and/or tea to go with their items... but, since they are more of a takeout bakery (only having outdoor seating), it may not make sense for them. I opted for a savory option of a breakfast sandwich made on a jalapeno scone with egg, perfectly crispy bacon and melty cheddar cheese. My friends got a pastry and a muffin. My sandwich was really tasty & fresh; I thought the price was kinda steep, coming in around $15. My one friend enjoyed her pastry. My other friend had a very hard time getting the wrapper to peel off of her muffin, losing pieces of muffin in order to remove all the wrapper. I would consider visiting again, but would really like for them to have pricing listed somewhere.
