We were at Cottman and were craving heavy food. We ordered the Birria Torta and tacos. Birria Torta was our favourite. The broth is YUMMMMMMMM! Juicy, cheesy, meaty in a bite! Definitely recommended!

TL:DR = Great staff but food is overhyped in other reviews. Food is about 3.5 stars, service is 4 so rounding up. All the staff were very friendly. For a Sunday night the place was busy, all of the tables occupied and there was a steady stream of take out/grub hub orders going out the door the entire time. Run down for food is as follows: Good - The stand out items for our meal were the beef birria tacos and the passion fruit drink made in house. Just Ok - Pineapple drink was not too sweet The chicken meat in the other birria was bland but forgivable since it came with the consume. Bad - The shrimp fajitas were lacking seasoning altogether and the strawberry drink was overly sweet. All-in-all not a bad dinner but since it isn't close to my home not sure I'll wander back.

Delish. You wouldn't expect it's location to be the new go to spot for Mexican food. The complimentary chips and salsas (green and red) were really good. The carne asada was really tender. The shrimp fajitas were yum and definitely would recommend the caramel churros for dessert.

Sooooo good! I stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad that I did. The establishment is small, but don't let that discourage you.. The food was amazing and so fresh. I ordered tostones w/ Mayo Ketchup a shrimp burrito.

Small place in a plaza. The place current is only take out. The staff was friendly and helpful. The carne asada was pretty good. The rice had great flavor, the steak was decently seasoned, but was a bit over cooked and chewy. This is typical usually due to cultural preferences so it isn't too bad. Only thing is just a bit more veggies would be nice. Like the peppers and onions. The birria tacos was pretty good. Nicely cooked with a crispy outside. The meat was beef and pretty well seasoned. The soup is definitely what makes this worth it. A rich broth full of flavor that gets soaked into the taco. The elote was decent.. Sweet corn lightly seasoned with Chile powder and cheese. Some more Chile powder would be nice and it was missing a little saltiness that usually comes with cotija cheese. Nonetheless a nice little treat. Then everyone's favorite part of the meal dessert. The tres leches was a delicious blend of sweetness with some cinnamon on top to accompany it. It was moist and just melts in your mouth. Delicious! All in all and amazing place with great portions and decent value. I would certainly come back for more!

Visited Asadero los tios for taco Tuesday. This is a neighborhood restaurant located in Northeast Philly. Keep an eye out or you'll drive right past the restaurant. There is a small parking lot and on street parking. Upon entering the venue we were greeted by an employee who asked if we wanted to done in or order take out. We opted for take out and he provided us with a menu. We picked the beef birria tacos, and Al pastor quesadilla. We sat and waited at a table while our food was being prepared. The restaurant was clean and I got a glimpse of the outdoor patio that others had mentioned in their reviews. I noticed a board with daily specials and asked my wife if she was up to trying the cow tongue tacos! She replied no. Our food was done pretty quickly and we went home to eat. Everything looked delicious upon unboxing. We had lime, onion, cilantro, and two sauces. The birria tacos had plenty of consommé. The quesadilla was yummy. It was filled with plenty of meat, tomato, lettuce and cheese. The birria taco was tasty, but the beef could have been a little more tender. I look forward to going back and sitting at the outside patio while trying some new menu items.

Went back and got food here recently. Still flavorful and worth ordering from. I've had both the Dominican and Mexican food. Both are good, especially Dominican. The Dominican beans and yellow rice is well made as is the chuleta. I can't seem to get enough of it.

Great food! Tacos were awesome, refried beans were the best I've had. You have to try the pastelilos they are amazing. But the best part was the tres leches my wife and I could not believe how great it was. We we're so full and the bill came and it was so reasonable. Can't wait to go back

This is my go-to restaurant in NE Philly for Birria Tacos. I started ordering from them back in 2021 when they were fairly new to the area. I stumbled upon them by accident on GrubHub when I lived in the area. I went to their location the next day and I've made it a point to visit them whenever I'm in philly. Their beef birria tacos are the best I've had in the area. They serve you 3 delicious generously shredded beef filled tacos along side their amazing consommé dipping sauce, topped with onions, cilantro & lime on the side. This dish is robust in flavor and packs a big punch when you combine everything together. The beef is well seasoned and not dry. The tacos have a nice balance of meat & cheese and they are not stingy about their portions. If you are ever in NE Philly, give them a try. They offer dine-in options. You will not be disappointed. Their service is prompt & efficient. They have a wide range on their menu of other items to try. I've also had their chicken & beef empanadas and homemade guacamole, all which I love. Their delicious tres leche cake is worth a try as well. Overall their birria tacos is a 10/10 for me. Plus 1 platter is less than $20. It's a win every time I've ordered it

Prices are very reasonable for restaurant food, I think, and the quality is absolutely there. They have all the food in heated pans at the front, though the mofongo had to be prepared separately. When I ate the food later on, everything was absolutely delicious. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely order again! Inside, there are a few TVs, and you order at the counter even if sitting in for a meal. Looks clean and cozy enough, and I would imagine fairly crowded at the right times, but I was there mid/late afternoon, so I only saw one table w/ a customer eating. I wouldn't be opposed to it sometime other than having to pay for parking!

Love that this place feels like a hidden gem but they honestly deserve to be packed at all time…read more This place is INCREDIBLE and I am getting hungry just looking at the pictures. The two times I've gone I've ordered the fish chunks which come with rice and beans (so delicious!!). You must try their sweet plantains and their tres leches cake. I've tried bites of the oxtail and, as some who has practiced pescatarianism (at times loosely) for 5+ years, it makes me question everything. It's just so so good. Service is friendly and I love that they're BYOB. The prices are super reasonable for the portions and the quality of the eats!!
